" Submitted last month " -what a pathetic message  :(

I have some files with "Submitted 2 months ago"...

Is it fair?  I don't think so.  How do you think?

According to some who use BlackBoxGuild, BlackBoxGuild contributors on Shutterstock reach the highest tier of commission just because BlackBoxGuild account is so huge. This is totally unfair to all the individual contributors who upload and tag themselves. Small contributors who would never reach the higher levels end up at the highest level (minus BlackBoxGuild fee of course). This should be addressed by Shutterstock.

BlackBoxGuild's and all other third party uploaders' commission tier should be capped at the average tier level of all individual contributors instead. Totally unfair to us individual contributors on Shutterstock.

Well, SS is the only advantage at BB, they will deduct 15% of your sales at all other agencies, so you may end up losing more money than what you won from SS levels alone.

Thank you!

It's an editorial video of some high school students working on a robotics project in a classroom

My highest video sale so far...

57
I've encouraged my 17 years old son to create photos using Midjourney for AS. He doesn't know anything about photography. He started uploading images to my AS account 3 months ago, here are the number of sales (remember he's novice):
April: 27 sales
May: 51 sales
June (till 9): 28 sales
He now has 1500 files online (260 under review) and he's planning to upload 500 - 1000 images per month.
I do videos mainly, but I have had around 300 images online for years, and he already exceeded my number of sales for images.
I really feel sorry for photographers as they can't compete with the image quality created using Midjourney, it's just amazing.

So, imagine if 100,000 novices like my son are uploading to AS, what would be the result?

58
I put "Circa" most of the time without problems, but I didn't submit anything for several months now...

59
Yes, currently over the double.

Edit: more than quadruple of last month payment actually.

60
Strange coincidence, I've got 32$ at Pond5 under "Subscription Earnings". I'm not in P5 subscription program and this is the first time I got such earnings.

61
They are must be making huge money from the data deals from SS and P5  ::)

General - Top Sites / Re: Payoneer fees
« on: April 27, 2023, 16:54 »
But payments from SS don't have the $3 fee. I think the difference is you can request payment at anytime at AS vs you have to wait for SS to pay you.

BTW, Payoneer is introducing $29.95 annual fee in some countries if your total received payment is less than $2000 per year. If you're subjected to the fee, you will be notified through the notifications section when you log-in, no email about it.

To check which countries are affected (strangely New Zealand is listed but there are no details).

No, they charge me that fee despite the fact that I receive much more than 2000$ per year. Regarding the 3$ fee it's applicable for all agencies except SS and Istock/Getty

I removed around 750 clips the last few days and put them exclusive at P5, I get bored from these 1$ dollar sales per clip

Pond5 / Just received some money from "Dataset Earnings"
« on: April 12, 2023, 08:43 »
I received a sale under the name "Dataset Earnings", after some investigation it looks like, as usual, the agency is selling our work to third party AI companies.
I went into Account > Preferences and found a checkbox that allowed them to sell the dataset and turned that off, so be aware...

Edit: Zero Talent was faster than me, so let's keep the topic here:

2020 average income per month: 755$
2021: 690$
2022: 574$
2023: 730$

Edit: not full time, I just upload part of the clips that we shoot for our documentaries, I didn't have time to upload any new content for the last 6 months.

66
Sad thing, Midjourney's quality is currently unmatched, it's hard to compete with its users if you want to do generative AI content.

67
The first three months of this year are twice as good as in 2022 on Pond5.
But I see a significant drop in SS. First of all because of cheap sales.

In the first three months, I have better sales on both P5 and SS, but sales at P5 come from buyers that pick several clips from certain collections, guess it's luck more than anything else.

68
My "2023 Pond5" so far:

- 15 videos sales with an RpD of $3,62 (which is very low)
Video portfolio size is about 3.000

- 1 image sales with an RpD of $2,13
Image portfolio size is about 20.000

Pond5 is really not doing well in 2023 so far

My 2023 sales:
- 19 video sales with RPD of 21.75$, portfolio size is about 3500 clips.

69
So far, 2023 is better than 2022 on Pond5 here.

Congratulations! At which level are you? You may earn even much more from the same sale at higher levels.
.  I'm at level 3 (25%.)
Hmmm, the same sale would be 791.5 at level 4...

General Stock Discussion / Re: Video subscription price

Envato Elements, Motion Array, Artgrid, Storyblocks... and a few smaller sites.

Thanks for the reply. Glad I am not with any of these.  ;)

Hehe, SpaceStockFootage said in another thread that more than half of his earnings comes from video subscription sites (Mostly Envato Elements and Storyblocks). I started uploading to Storyblocks 3 months ago and the estimated earnings for this month are 1/3 of my total earnings. My portfolio at Storyblocks is 1/6 of SS, but it looks like I will earn more at Storyblocks this month...

Looking at January numbers, the lowest video sale at SS was 1$.

Edit: Lowest sale at level 1 was 1.05$, but I have several sales of 1$ at level 2.

75
Envato is the worst site regarding tax withheld. I'm from a country that doesn't have a tax treaty with US, so 30% tax should be deducted from my US sales.

If I sell a clip for 100$ on SS, and I'm on level 4, I'll get 30%=30$. If the sale is for a US client, another 30% is deducted from my share and I'm left with 21$. The same happens with Adobe Stock.

If I sell a clip for 100$ on Envato, they will deduct 3$, then I got 50% of the rest = 48.5$. If the sale is for a US client, they will deduct 30% of the whole sale, in this case 30$, from my share, and I will be left with:
48.5$ - 30$ = 18.5$ (!)
