General Stock Discussion / Adobe change account to EUROS
« on: May 04, 2018, 07:12 »
I don't suppose anyone knows how to change my portfolio earnings from GBP to EUROS?

I think my Fotolia page is in Euros already.

TIA
Suz :)

53
So does this have any effect on buyers? If all  my videos are in photojpeg are people less likely to download them?
 ???

54
Dearie me, not exactly ideal for us
:)

55
And the wholly owned content is supplied by who? Does this pay anything out to the owner of the content or does VB just own the videos outright?

Thanks for explaining things to me!

56
Didn't realize there was a free section in VB? How does that work? How does a contributor earn from that?

Yes, if anyone has any advice on an alternative codec (for After Effects on a PC) which works for all agencies that would be great!

Just got my head around using Photojpeg!

Does this mean Photojpeg video files already on stocksites will become unusable for clients?

Bonjour!

Ahhh, sounds like a good alternative.

I'll look at doing that. As I'm learning might take a while to figure it out but could make them more sellable.

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated

General Stock Discussion / Re: pasting keywords shuttertstock

Thanks for replying!

Even if I copy and paste the keywords using the right mouse button it's tricky, but I got there in the end.

Hopefully they'll fix it soon:)

Is anyone having problems keywording in Shutterstock?

The keyword tool is working but not letting me paste them.

The only way appears to be typing them in individually

Thanks for that, all a lot clearer.

So Apple ProRes 444 is accepted by most agencies?

And people that aren't after a transparent (alpha channel) can still use the video in the same way I imagine. If I have a white background on the composition it will appear white on the rendered video.

Thanks again, I really appreciate you passing on your knowledge.

Suzie :D

Hello!

I think I understand it a bit better thanks to your help.

If I want to render with an alpha channel then Quicktime with Photojpeg doesn't allow RGB+alpha.

So this would mean using a different format and codec? I'm not sure which one. Took me a while to understand and get the right ones to be accepted by the sites I upload to. (I think you suggested them SpaceStock)

Do you submit one video with alpha channel and one without? Or is that pointless.

Would it be an advantage sales wise to have an alpha channel? I have got fairly simple animations, but a few have drop shadows and perhaps in the future.

Thanks for letting me pick your brains!

Hi!

In after effects I usually have a white background for the composition, (but not as a layer). Would it be better to render it with an alpha channel? Is this more useful to a buyer?

I'm not totally sure about alpha channel. I presume this means the buyer has a transparent background? If so do I mention it in the title?

Thanks is advance!
Suzie :)

Definitely a holiday in Spain tomorrow 8)

Here in Spain things definitely slow down in August. Many companies shut for the month or half of it.

Yes I've got files on fotolia with zero views but at least some get viewed, maybe once, some a lot.

But for pond5 there has been a total of 2 views for ALL of the files, which I thought was a tad low!

  :-\

72
Sent you a pm spacestock:)

73
Well I did get told it was difficult to get new stuff seen.

Am I flogging a dead horse?

Have about 100 animation videos on Pond5, for a few months.

Only 2 files have been viewed!

I'm not under any illusion that my videos are amazing but there are some sold on fotolia and shutterstock.

And each has at least a few views on Fotalia.

Do they eventually get viewed or is there really no hope for new content?

General Stock Discussion / don't forget to back up
« on: June 22, 2017, 02:23 »
Just a reminder!

I've just spent far too much money on recovering a load of files, which, annoyingly, should have been used to buy more storage to back up.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
