I've only had 2 image rejections over the last 4-6 months out of about 500 or more images. The two I've had recently I'll take a look and if there's an issue, I'll see if I can correct it and resubmit. If not, I just move on.
Like anywhere though, they can make the odd mistake but as a rule I've found them very good.

Are Adobe still planning "big things" for their png collection or have they shifted their attention/ resources away to AI now (i.e. doing away with us)? We were told to wait and see and that we wouldn't be disappointed with what they had in mind/ the level of promotion. Havent seen much yet.
PNG files are selling but as you say there doesn't appear to have been any announcement or marketing to customers by Adobe. Shame and disappointing for those of us who have made the effort to upload. Adobe did say they might have to wait to achieve 'critical mass' in search results - that might take a long time given that the majority of contributors do not have an existing PNG file collection.
If they haven't started to promote them then I'm really looking forward to that point in time. They've been selling really well for me so far.

No, Adobe is not giving out free subscriptions anymore. ...
how do you know this? there has been no official announcement about free subscriptions
To me it's common sense. It's called "Contributors Bonus Program" and not "free softwear" for a reason..... But in 2022 no Contributor bonus program was announced. 2022 is now over. How can Adobe announce a "Contributors Bonus Program 2022" when 2022 is already over? ...
you have no idea what you're talking about! - MANY of us rec'd bonus codes for 2022. the discussion has mostly been about whether there will be bonuses for 2023 and Mat has repeatedly said no decision has been made (YET ) we're barely into the new year
No, we received bonus codes in 2022 for the 2021 bonus program...
Bonus program 2021: https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/royalty-details.html "For our active Contributors, based on the number of downloads your photos, illustrations, vectors, and videos receive during the 2021 calendar year, you can earn complimentary access to one of the following plans for one year" "bonuses will be determined in January 2022, and codes will be issued in February 2022[/b]. "
This page has never been updated to any 2022 bonus program information.
we're talking past each other w?o using the same terms - of course the bonus was based on 2021 sales! - how could it be elsewise? but the actual bonus was applied in 2022
the key is that the info was sent in January - not Jan FIRST, so the conclusion that there will be no bonus is premature at best
No, the "info was" not "sent in January". The bonus program 2021, for which we got codes in early 2022, was announced March/April 2021. You are confusing your years.
Yeah, that's right. When we received the codes in 2022 it was based on criteria set out in the previous year. Adobe may still provide a free software this year based on XYZ but if they do, it isn't following the pattern of previous years.

You received a code based on 2021 data/results that is used during 2022/23 (depending when activated) but no new details were released in 2022 about a new scheme based on data/results for that year, which would result in a code to use during 2023/24.

and the ranking is based on # of downloads, not $, so you might make a good amount with videos but rank very poorly because it is appears to be solely based on the # of downloads - perhaps per period of time, but I think it is just the overall # compared to everyone else.
Right = downloads not dollars.
It's got nothing to do with the age of your port, Findura. As far as I know no ranking is displayed if a certain amount of downloads is not reached.
It used to be 200, now?
Here are some collected lifetime numbers. First set is from someone else.
Old data 2019 8,000/4,700 5,000/8,500 1,400/28,000 1,200/32,000 450 /67,000 200 /120,000
From others ranks 2022 120,000/535 40,000/2,230 11,660/7,440 8,030/10,000 2,000/25,000
Note the crossing point from 2019, when 8,000 DLs was a position of 4,700 and now 8,000 is a position of 10,000. About twice as many people have 8,000 DLs now as people who did in 2019.
I know some people think this matters, but I don't. Images have ranks, not artists? And I don't think the weekly position is worth the time to view. If I get 10 DLs on Monday, mine is way up. If I have a slow Wed. then I drop way down. All it's telling is, how many DLs did I have, compared to other accounts. If I have 1,000 images and someone else has 10,000 the position is kind of obvious. Mine is always going to be lower by Sunday.
What value is there in knowing my weekly position, by # of downloads? And other than amusement, what does my position tell me if I'm looking at Lifetime? My earnings tell me what I want to know.
I use weekly rank more than the overall ranking. If I've released a batch of imagery aimed at a specific annual event I can monitor how I'm performing as a result of the new imagery compared to previous years. If I drop below a certain weekly rank I then look for imagery that will help me boost sales for that particular time of year. Overall ranking is of passing interest only as the only thing I learn from it is where I am based on all sales ever made. (edit) and I guess whether someone above me is doing better than I am for that point in time. Still not useful in terms of planning what I'll shoot / produce though.

Big increase this month, comfortably BME. An increase of 73.8% over the same month last year. I didn't see that one coming.

For me, volume of sales at SS remains largely unchanged compared to the previous years. What has changed is the near total disappearance of larger value sales over the last 2 months. These are mostly footage sales and occasional SODs. Footage especially at SS has crashed with most sales now less than $1.
However, not all bad as the this drop in SS $ is dwarfed by the uplift elsewhere. I now just focus on work for them and SS receives what ever time I have left at the end of the month... if there is any.

AI Learning means data is held, just as data is held in the human brain in terms of memory and learning as to what things look like.
The problem for AI data is that there are now laws that require data to only be held for a reasonable length of time, not indefinitely. I think this is why SS talks about being able to opt-out of future dataset refreshes that the AI uses. These datasets are created from stored imagery (ours).
Ultimately, if they let this continue, the software could put many artists and photographers out of business and in turn, drastically reduce the size of datasets available for the AI to... *cough* learn from. It feels like a short term gain process for the AI, which from my dealings with AI is not as fancy as what they like it to sound. It's basically a very large dataset with clever conditional programming. We used to use SaaS and other software to do "Machine Learning" within the financial industry!

At 7 dls for the week today and weekly rank has gone down to 30,600 which makes sense because average #dls/day has gone down.
Must be a wonderful feeling to make 100K downloads - and 1,500 in one day - I'm blown away!
1,500 in one week, not in one day.
I Mistyped : 1500 in a week is amazing! Congrats! How many images do you have in total?
I have about 20k images.

In 2019 there were nearly 465.000 AS contributors - based on a research of Robert Kneschke. I could post a link to this research but I don't know if I'm allowed to do so. I don't know how many contributors there are now. And I don't know how many there are active.
Some rough current data:
Roughly 20,000 contributors have about 10 or more downloads per week. Roughly 7,000 contributors have about 50 or more downloads per week. Roughly 5,000 contributors have about 75 or more downloads per week. Roughly 3,000 contributors have more than 100 downloads per week.
Of course, the numbers fluctuate between better and worse weeks, e.g. because of holidays or after Christmas at the end of the year.
Interesting stats, cheers!
In Robert Kneschke's analysis from 2019, it can be seen that only 261 contributors had reached the sapphire ranking (more than 100,000) at that time.
If the overall ranking is based on the download numbers, you would have had at least the overall ranking of 261 with more than 100,000 downloads at that time. You are now at 564, which would mean that the number of Saphir contributors has more than doubled since 2019.
A few numbers from February 2019:
Total downloads/position in the overall ranking
4.700 / 8.000 8.500 / 5.000 28.000 / 1.400 32.000 / 1.200 67.000 / 450 120.000 / 200
The figures also agree quite well with Robert's analysis.
Early 2019: Weekly downloads/position in the weekly ranking
10 / 10.000 50 / 3.000 100 / 1.000 250 / 350 350 / 200 400 / 170 500 / 140
Well, the doubling of sapphire contributors wouldn't surprise me, but I'd say its a lot more. This year there's been a big improvement in volume... Those weekly downloads / rank are way off now. The weeks I've hit 1.5k dls in a week my rank was 120. Just wished I was at that volume all the time
For a weekly ranking of 120, about 550 Dls per week was enough in 2019.
1,500 per week is brilliant! And beyond my imagination!
It's beyond mine as well! Feel lucky but really appreciate what AS do, as in providing the platform for me to work from. Next year it'll be 10 years as a full time stock photographer! I think I joined FT/AS in 2014. I just know the next 10 will be just as hard

If I have a big money day it seems to move more (lifetime rank) than just a day with large numbers of dls. I have nothing to prove it so it could just as easily be dls as well. Just a hunch.
Yes, I have over 100k in dls. AS seems to be shifting a lot more of late. SS volume has dropped a little but the value has decreased a lot. It almost feels like theyve lost some of the corporate clients that spend big to AS but that is purely a guess.

Would you be so kind as to post your weekly ranking again on Sunday evening when the week is over?
Do we know that the week is the last 7 days or the last calendar week? The graphs look that way, but do we know? Nov. 7th is the week, which is a Monday?
16,750th and the week hasn't been anything special. If I get some more DLs I'll try to remember to check again.
25,100th lifetime - keep in mind I only rejoined when Adobe bought them, I don't have many images and no video.
I don't pay attention to rank. Personally it means nothing.
I think its a rolling 7 days but not 100% confident on that. Lifetime 564, week - down a bit at 400 but varies between 119 - 800 depending on the time of year. I find the weekly rank accurately reflects the amount of of dls ect where as the lifetime rank seems to relate / respond to earnings more.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many contributors there are at Adobe Stock?!?
If the IDs are consecutive, find a new contributor and click one of their images, click BY... look at the ID number?
I see numbers like 207,000,000 but we don't know what the starting number was?
Always the same other questions. How many are active and how many opened an account and never uploaded a single image?
Cheers... yes, the volume of active accounts will be a lot less than that I'd imagine. But I guess it has to be a couple of million or so. The better half was asking how many for context in terms of the AS rank. I had no idea

This year for Oct
SS - 47% down AS - 60% up
SS continue to under perform, AS continue to push ahead. Id swear down that SS are losing customers to AS.
Context, SS= several hundred, AS = several thousand p/month. The gap between the two is massive

I had a balance of about $20 which they would have taken from me when I requested to close the account.
When I replied to their request for reason for leaving and authorisation to remove my account, I gave one or two of many reasons but advised I do not authorise the removal of my account and that I want them to keep it open and hold my balance should I decide to return sometime in the future. Not that I will but at least that way they can't just pocket the money and instead, they'll have to keep accounting for it in their annual accounts / returns etc.

If datasets are made up of our data and data can only be kept for a period of time that is deemed reasonable then surely each refresh of the datasets would require previous ones to be deleted?!? If thats the case then thats maybe why payment is every 6 months. If we opt out then the current dataset will not be based on our images and the AI system can only use the latest dataset?!.
I feel there are a lot of questions SS need to answer and to make clear to their contributors otherwise they will run the risk of the biggest contributors taking some sort of class action against them. This will eventually put everyone out of work otherwise, including agencies.
