For the post part they have been reviewed by batch but this past week, that has not always been true.  Must be very busy.

Ok so signing up for Adobe stock
.....but of course forgot my Fotolia password since it is saved.  Still waiting forever for email  to reset my Fotolia password!   How long do I have to wait?   Yes I have been checking spam folder as well but wish it would hurry up-- have lots of work to do on Fotolia today.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Strange Email about My Image

If you are in the US, many police departments take reports of internet and phone frauds.  You could also report it to police, at least the ones who pay attention to cyber crimes.

I have a background in art-- much of stock lacks aesthetic appeal.  But not all.  Quite a lot of it is more artistic than people believe

Perhaps reviewers know what sells with the companies where they work.  For sure, different things sell with each agency because they have clientele.  But sometimes I do not think many have a good grasp of aesthetics or composition (other than outdated overused rules).

I have moved on -- I have plenty to do and not obsessing too much about approval/rejection since made a lot of technical changes and now most images are accepted.

I just find it intriguing that this particular rejection usually means sales for me at least.

I have reached a point where I am starting to see rejections for lack of commercial appeal of aesthetic appeal or whatever as a plus... because those rejections are almost a guarantee that the photo will sell with a different agency.  Seriously.

Already sold one today before it was rejected elsewhere today for that reason.  Seems happen quite frequently.

Mine is still on total earnings

I'm betting applications to become exclusive won't be so many to crash the system. Is anyone seriously considering it?...surely the risk is enormous. .

I was.. BEFORE the changes simply because I was making a lot more there and the other agencies had slower sales.  But then they made the announcement and I decided not to go elusive and stop uploading.

1.  Too risky if this company changes commissions so fast and so drastically.
2.  Sales with other agencies have picked up a lot very recently
3.  My approval rates at the other agencies climbed significantly after making some changes ,,,, and I am having more fun too.
I had even thought maybe I will upload my rejects but now it is rare that I get an mage rejected at all places that actually inspect the images somehow.
4.  I would rather help grow agencies that are paying me more.

Makes me wonder many people who might have gone exclusive in near future they suddenly lost.

Exactly.  It varies.  Sometimes same day.  A couple of days.  Depends on what day I submit at times.  Not more than a week usually.  Faster than they were even a few months ago.

1.  Make sure you have filled out your tax form.
2  Make sure that you have a method of payment selected.  Even if you did, something might have  happened to get it unselected.  This happened to me a while back.
3.  Write to them and tell them you have done the abiove.

Nice math.....
an average/good camera should resist 250.000 actuations and it costs around 1000$:
it means 0,004$ per actuation. You need to make one photo (that sells at least once) every five actuations just to pay for the camera

My last camera's shutter broke after about 150,000 actuations.

not any more they are not.

$0.02 does not even cover the usage of a shutter actuation (based on cost of shutter repair when one has to repair a broken shutter which inevitably happens after lots of shutter actuations).

I also have gotten a refund announcement- never ever had one before.   Why are they all coming at once?

Indies could always upload images there not accepted at other agencies....

There was a major outage all over with many many websites-- a cyber attack in US aimed at one of the companies who does DNS addresses and routing.

Shutterstock, Fotolia and BigStock all down

iStockPhoto.com / How to find sales for specific image?
« on: October 13, 2016, 21:22 »
Does anyone know a fat way to see if sales number for a particular image?  I discovered one of my images on a website article.  It has a tiny Istock watermark at corner, not the watermark that is all over the image.  The usage editorial was correct.  I am trying to weave my way though all the sales data to see if paid for but a bit overwhelmed by all the categories.  Just want to know whether to be happy (sold) or report website.

I've got a different problem files sitting there not getting reviewed. When I asked support they told me to delete them cos they couldn't. For me fotolia/adobe are snapping at their heels.

I have that problem with SS too.  File stuck and the cannot delete it so I have to reupload it.  My sales at FT much better.  I think my images fit more with FT's clientele overall.

With the original problem, the images get uploaded, then disappear..... and then hen I upload it several times and the next button takes me to actual image to keyword... I have multiple copies of the same images from all the repeat uploads.

I am having trouble after uploading images to SS via web (not ftp).  They upload, then when I go to press the next button, 0 images there.  It keeps happening and unable to get to keywording part so far.

Anyone else?

The forums are not always easy to navigate.    I have done searches and found nothing.  Was not a matter of not spending time looking.  Thankfully several members here we helpful and sent me where I needed to be and / or made constructive suggestions.

Make sure that you have done your tax form and that you have chosen payment method.  Double check on the payment method  I did not get paid and had done payment method -- but it had disappeared.  No problems since that delay with first payment.

I have property releases of my own pets.  Not only are the property owner and name of photographer the same but under pets' names I have included : [ name of species] and "belonging to photographer" and one agency made me update it with a new one every year.

Do I need to create an account on Adobe stock to do this?  I use Adobe PS LR etc but only Adobe stock via Fotolia?

The ability to edit and correct typos would be reason enough to crate an acct and then synch.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Uploads through DeepMeta not working today?
« on: September 15, 2016, 15:52 »
I have been having uploading images today on Istock-- not using Depp Meta and uploading one by one via web form.  I keep getting a busted image icon...but yet the images do go to unfinished files.
