« on: August 19, 2015, 03:16 »
because there are no unity among the crowdsourced contributors.

I was thinking about it but how do we do that?

I dont understand why our sale commisions are so low in image sales? e.g. one images are sold to 1 credits equally $10 but our sale commision only $1.5, what about other $8.5 ?... I wonder is it so costly to being agent to selling our images? why our earnings are limited by only 15% or something like very low amounts on image sales ? I dont know is this a good sample but I get 60% sale commision from 3d model sale on a 3d model sale site which is in the wery similar sale sector and which has wery similarly sale contours.

@Madman, we don't have the ability to temporarily  you out of selling images while keeping your account active and images intact. If I have misinterpreted your question please let me know.

thanks,

Mat

Not that I care, but I imagine anything to do with the "state of RC targets and the like" to be pretty important to most people.
Yeah that's true but they've had that announcement the last few years that nothing is changing you won't go down from where you are.  So it's not necessarily a big announcement.

thats really true, I've lost 1000 bucks already so what is the meaning of gaining a little 1-2 bucks?
You mean when you went nonexclusive?  I'm sure you'll make it up at your other sites.
.
formerly was the same while I was exclusive, earnings was decreasing day by day on istock, so I left exclusivity for this reason.

that is the vain hope it would be good things, they screwed istock within two years, look at istock ranking graph, it is very tragical, constantly down, down, down from 450 to 1050 in recent year, this mean roughly, the number of visitors decreased by more than twice, really tragic... It is easy to loss something but it is very difficult to recover.

They completely shut down the old forum and so old topics have disappeared from forum history, for what? surely the negative and all including complaints forum posts of the contributors have disappeared from forum history, too, a good trick....
Nope, they haven't disappeared, they have been archived:
https://secure.istockphoto.com/forums_archive.php

not much of a difference, I did not know, most people will ever know.

Customers also have different needs on different sites no point in analysing this

I dont think it is so important (at least IMO), as everyone knows, most of microstock sites are similar like copycat.

remember folks, your images maybe very high quality, furthermore, your images will not sold if dont appear in search results somewhere in the first places, someone or other things that I dont understand be able to determine this, e.g, I have several images almost never sold on one microstock site, although was sold too much on another microstock site.

Heard this before why would they want to do that?

because of every day joining new contributors for selling images, I think the newcomers are recently increased too much, if the oldest members continuously wins, what will win new ones? if someone win, then someone must be lose, IMO.

I think they are limiting contributor's earnings in any way in time.

Adobe Stock / opt out for sale
« on: August 10, 2015, 15:07 »
sometimes we need deactivate our folio from some sites for some reasons, shutterstock does have a system for it called "opt out", is there a way to opt out for selling images or something like on fotolia without deleting all images or without deactivating complete contributor account?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: What is happening to iStock?

Forgive me, but, It does not seem normal to me to fall my earnings several times in a short time,

that makes me think deeper, we have nothing to make any changes by ourselves, except increasing our folio or trying other selling sites, we only take what they give it to us,

before I was making almost $5 per image downloads in istock but for now only 0,25 cents, why would I want to earn less?

The worst part of the job is "we have nothing to make any improvements at this situation" as a contributor....

that makes me think deeper and deeper...

that maybe useful for contributors which stock sites has "sort by username" search options.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock and their selfish thinking
« on: August 09, 2015, 08:45 »
istock is killig itself slowly, last years completely disaster for contributors, and I dont think it will change in a positive direction. my sales and earning graph in a constanly and unstoppable downward trend for last two years, and so many contributors have the same apparently, we loose money, themselves loose money, also loose overall quality, site functionality and so on and on... I wonder why they do not try to fix it? maybe they really like to lose.

Didn't you just start a thread about how terrible iStock was and how there are no sales there?  No sales on istock, no sales anywhere else.  Maybe move on to another hobby?

by the way, this is nat a hobby for me, this was main income source for me past years, I have almost 5000 microstock images...

and suddenly stumbled on this forum...
just a banter :P

is it so interesting?
