Did you start in 2013?
Is this for photography or vectors?

This drop is significant...how is this possible? You went from 100K  to 14K in 3 years?

Just trying to make some sense...

Getty Image updated iStock credit pricing in 2013 and also introduced their great and amazing new subscription plans.

So, What is your annual income lose between 2013 - 2015 (2016).

I had 3000 images 2013 and now 5500 images.

My Income 2013 = 115 000 $
My Income 2014 = 110 000 $
My Income 2015 =   50 000 $
My Income 2016 =   14 000 $ (about)

I think this is NOOOT a good way :o

I strated on 2010 and only photos. It not make sense me either...and I don't know how someone can be so stupid that ruins a good business.  >:(

I dont understand why co-founder of istock need to sell so profitable business to so greedy company like Gettyimages? what else had hoped it would be when you do this so easily? dont understand, really dont... isnt that an instance of a kind of greed and perfidy?

please new CEO!... take a look at and "SEE" what we have suffered in recent years, here is my 2015 sale graph on istock, how deplorable is, isn't it?

General sales down, new crappy SUBSCRIPTION sales down, PP down, all the way is down....

madman. Did not you drop your exclusivity
on July 2015?

yes, but it doesnt matter if I leave or not, sales are constantly decreasing day by day, it is the reason that I left the exclusivity.

you may sell to her per image to 0,36 dollar, so you get $0,36 (like so) sale commission on other sites already.

Ok i will show 2 examples of the lowest subscription plan

Non-exclusive:

1 month, 35 eur -10 essentials images 10 x 0,28=you earn 2,80 USD (2,40 Eur aprox) and Istock earn 32,60 Eur

Exclusive, signature;

1 month, 85 eur -10 signature images 10 x 0,75=you earn 7,50 USD (6,50 Eur aprox) and Istock earn 78,50 Eur

Is this true??

Is like depositphotos... or worst...

This is so true and bitter truth, one subs sale get almost $0,25 or 0,75 for now, but formerly we earned almost $5-15 from one credit sale, subscription system is very badly affecting our profits.

Not sure this is a stock-agency?  looks more like a creative service, design service?  but they have some good content. I like the automotive part.

yes this site is not a stock agency but selling images are very expensive compared to stock prices.

ours are photo, theirs are just photo but prices are different like abyss.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Photo sales decline since June
« on: September 12, 2015, 16:27 »
On the run up to june this year photo sales for me were showing a steady increase in sales but after June it has dropped, last month being the most dramatic. This month looks set to be even worse. Anyone else noticing thier image sales slump ?

I don't know how it really is, as I'm not contributing to them. However, poll results suggest something else. At the moment, SS 80 and IS 41.8.

poll results showing istock exclusive 206 an SS 80

I wonder if these results up to date?
Both iS figures have changed a couple of times this week, indies up, exclusives down.

where can be give for istock "exclusive" vote?

I've never known a slump like this in over five years. If this is the new norm then there's no point staying exclusive, I'll give it a couple months to see if things turn around.
With similar dismay over on the Shutterstock forums I wonder if all the buyers are going over to Fotolia/Adobe. Feels like the beginning of the end for the established sites.

IMO, there is no need to wait to quit exclusivity anymore, because I waited 2 years for that but never stopped the decline trend and now it does not look like that will change, you can be sure you are doing the best to leave.

if will sell all our images from $5 constantly, we earn more, sure....

iStockPhoto.com / Re: What is happening to iStock?
« on: September 11, 2015, 05:09 »
Well apart from istock stuff ups there are a lot of other factors involved in the downgrade of microstock like over supply.

so, why istock downloads and revenues still constantly down within 2 years? despite increasing folio and despite sales on other sites still going on normally. WHY???

I am interested in amateur with small drones, the price of a quality system is around thousands of dollars and it is not very easy to use, so we must need to care this devices...

here is an angry people example...

I just noticed a new member log-in screen. So it looks like the September site changes have started. I haven't had time to really check out the rest of the site. Has anyone noticed if they have broken anything in the process yet?

WOOOOWWWW!....  What a big development!....

I know that, earning system of shutterstock is highly based on your new upload amount.

From last Dec,sales of Shutterstock started to being sinking and sinking and never come back :(. more photo uploaded, more visitor on photo portfolio, more nice photo ( i suppose) but less download. It really not good.

IMO, because of every day joining new contributors for selling images, I think the newcomers are recently increased too much, if the oldest members continuously wins, what will win new ones? if someone win, then someone must be lose I think.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: istock exclusivity question
« on: September 01, 2015, 09:28 »
I am non exclusive for a couple monts, as I see, my istock revenue down to almost half but the other site sales going well, for now, my other site's total revenues are bigger than istock earnings, so it was better for me to be a non exclusive ;)

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock non-exclusive subs growth?
« on: August 28, 2015, 11:01 »
Been there for seven years and it's not even worth uploading anymore.

If we look from a different angle, so far, already it has many images uploaded to istock, almost 60 million, maybe they think they do not need more, but no, this is a ridiculous idea of course, but why not?

or, maybe they think they have so many images that enough to ignore contributor's complaints.

« on: August 27, 2015, 10:50 »
They must be trying different plans out, I don't have that.  The plan you're pointing to though is for Signature not Essentials meaning the royalties paid could be up to $2.50 per download or theoretically up to 100%.  Where are you located, I'm in the US.

I am in Turkey, maybe prices are changing by country.
