Use Deepmeta uploading tool and keywording is not an issue anymore.
Mirco
Isn't it?! The keywords are there but you have to activate them... at least some of them which have more than one meaning in their dictionary. So with 50 keywords you have at least 20 additional clicks with your mouse which I define as an "issue".

Keywording is an issue. Especially with so many images.

If I was an agency, I would not send Christmas cards. Why?! Because it is not a global holiday. It is bound to one religion only. There are contributors with different beliefs and there are with none. I would send an e-mail at the end of the year though.

How about IPTC for footage?

What's the deal with Getty Images? Can anybody contribute? What are they looking for? Thanks!

From the site: 30% (up to $120) Percentage is based on sale price received. Amount earned may be more if sale price received is more.

2 years, 600 images, 15,000 views, 4 sales. Maybe that's what's wrong.
Sounds like Demotix. Anybody uploading at both? Is it the same?

I think the time has come that every agency should have a editorial section or otherwise you are missing sales.
In my country all of the major news related medias are clients of stock. None of them (as I know) have a subscription with Fotolia because they don't have a picture of Obama or some other thing that can not be anything but editorial.

I really hope editorial will be available on Fotolia sooner! Can not see how this is a wrong move. About the designer argument... If a designer is smart enough to work with any Adobe product, he/she should be smart enough to distinguish commercial from editorial content (a matter of a single click). Don't forget the Media. Most of the times newspapers, magazines, televisions, news sites prefer real and unstaged people.

So, how is there? I'm wondering if I should try it...

Try Fotolia. I have some sales there and they pay me in Euros. Ft is my #3 after P5 and SS. I'm waiting for my first sale at VideoBlocks. It seems good there - mostly because of the 100% commission. Don't event register to RevoStock!

If you love to make pictures and you want to make stock images, you should. But you have to be really serious about it! You have a lot to learn. I suggest start learning the stock industry and decide how serious you are. If you haven't give up until Christmas buy a camera when they are cheaper. I guess you are going to shoot what you like but that's not a problem at all. I am constantly surprised what sells and what doesn't at stock sites. And you don't have to be a professional photographer neither... unfortunately. So if you are serious (3rd time) you have a very good chance to earn the money for the dslr you are soon going to buy in the next couple of years.

Yes, but isn't 4k sold at Getty only (for now)?! I can not find 4k option at IStock. And the only clip I've sold at Getty was a little more of $100 in commission. So I feel it's OK to try some 4k at Getty. But how to convert them from Photo-jpeg to Prores?

So... what happened with that IStock/Getty 4k? Anybody any sales? Is it worth it? And it yes, how can a install that Prores codec in my Adobe Premier? I have QuickTime, but I can not install Prores decoder from Apple's site.

Is this "not paid" situation an exception or a common practice? I'm uploading footage there for some months now and I'm wondering if there is any point to continue if I'm probably not going to be paid and have to delete hundreds of files one by one...

I don't know about buyer's perspective, but from my point of view there are lots of great and usable images that can not be anything but editorial. I really hope one day Fotolia consider this option!

Does anybody know how often I should upload new content to SS so my portfolio be doing well at the search results? Is it once per month, week or day? I'm new member with constantly growing port so I can not test those hypotheses that say regular uploads make your port/images more popular. So... is uploading 2 images every day better than uploading 14 every week?

Got the email too. I had a very strange feeling while reading it... For the first time in my life I felt that I'm working with not for somebody. And this somebody is treating me fair, not just exploiting my work and paying me pennies. I hope this tactics results in growing and they keep the policy!

Hello, I'm new with footage and the only way for me to make a 4k video is via timelapse. Most of the things I'm going to shoot are stars of the night sky. Can you give me an advice how to do it best? I really want the best quality and the computing power is not an issue. Can it be done with RAW files and if it can with which programs should I work so I can edit them simultaneously? I have done timelapses with Premiere but only with jpegs files. Any advice about 4k is appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Does anybody know where I can see my G.I. sales? I had one at the end of July but can not see it at PP. As I know this is the place it should show... I'd really love to see which is the file. Thanks!
