that's a shame - must admit I haven't tried it myself, I just figured it was possible

I use Vector Inspector for open paths and such. Its free I think, don't have a link handy but google will find it. It installs as an Extension in your Window Menu.

Unfortunately Vector Inspector does not work in the new Adobe Illustrator CC 2017. They are making a new plugin now - Vector Inspector Pro http://roman-volkov.blogspot.com/2017/07/vector-inspector-donate.html
You can free download the demo version. Development is not over yet.

What size jpeg?

Sorry  :)
I did not see at once...
It is better to write in support  - [email protected]

Now script can create JPEG with artboard size. Using resolution 72 dpi for this. If you use a resolution 300 dpi that will be more than an artboard. For example: artboard 1200x1200 px and 300 dpi > JPEG 5000x5000 px

The function for setting the picture size is being developed. It will be in the new version Stock Master Pro

I'm rather new to selling vector stock but have about 20 pieces in my portfolio as I try to feel my way into the business.

I'm trying to figure out what types of things will sell and what is just a waste to spend time on.

I sell a few things but just pennies now because I have so few images. The good images I create take time to make so it is a slow process building my portfolio. I want to be unique and find the small niches. I look through the vector sites and what is "popular" but I don't want to copy things, either.

My wish list is to figure out what will actually sell well. So my question is what do successful vector artists do to find out the trends and know what is useful to create? How did you get started in figuring out what sells?

You should find your own way. Work hard and try a lot of things. And your time will come

Illustration - General / Re: Should I upload EPS8 on any site?
« on: September 21, 2015, 07:22 »
I have been iStock exclusive for years, and when I'm now looking around a bit at the other sites (I'm soon back to independent) I've noticed that pretty much all of them seem to accept EPS10 now. Some sites maybe even require EPS10 instead of EPS8?

I'm a little confused. Should I go with EPS10 all the time, even if the file doesn't contain any transparency, or is it still a good idea to upload EPS8 if possible? How do you indies reason?

You can upload EPS10 and EPS8 to any microstock.
If you have transparency or blending mode in your vector you should save EPS 10.
Vectors without transparency or blending mode - EPS8 is OK.

Illustration - General / Re: Anyone who sells at vectorstock?
« on: September 16, 2015, 09:20 »
Is there anyone here who sells at Vectorstock? I just want to know if sales are ok or if it is worth uploading to? The payout is $100 and at $0.25 per download (usually 1 credit files).. that kind of takes a long time unless the volume is as much as SS... any thoughts?

How big is your portfolio and what is your average sales per day?

1567 files
50 downloads per month :) average

I have noticed two things:

1- Most members of this forum upload photos, no illustrations
2- The sales statistics are different if you sell photos or illustrations

So if I have in mind the general post in this forum I will not have a real perspective which are the best sites to sell vector illustrations

I currently uploading my work to SS and DT and i want to upload to more sites but i dont want to waste time with very low earning sites, so i want to ask to people with more time and experience selling vector illustrations which are the best sites to sell my work.

Try Creative Market. But it is difficult to get there

Hi friends.

A few weeks ago I found out how much time my friends (who are microstockers) spend to prepare vector illustrations for sales on microstock. I have programmer skill and I wanted to help them to save time. As a result I created my first script for Adobe Illustrator. The script automatically deletes paths and shapes outside Artboard, while not affecting artwork inside artboard.

I want to know: do illustrators need this script? May be I should optimize it for better using?

Besides do you want to get any other script for optimizing your work? May be I can make it ? :)

I will be glad for any opinion and information.

Hello hacker :)

you can create portfolio on Behance

Hi there! I have a fantastic news for all microstockers! If you make a vector you should try this script.
Stock Master can automatically prepare vector files for microstocks. It scans a vector file and fixes mistakes such as open paths, ghost shapes, bitmap, symbols, brushes, effects, etc.
You can free download this script on mai-tools.com
