"4. Find a thrifty life partner"

holy crap, I stopped reading at this part. Very childish thinking. Not my cup of tea.

Pond5 / Re: 2.5 months no sale
« on: October 12, 2018, 00:18 »
Pond5 has awoken up for me. After a few years of average sales (50% shutterstock) the last few months have been fantastic. Most mornings I wake to multiple sales. A Lot 4K too and some with upgraded licenses for a considerable amount.

I've been getting sales at the same time (must be 2am UK time or something) as I always notice them early in the morning. I think the pond5 system must add up all the sales and send them out at a certain time?

Sorry for not following the doom trend.

well, yea... that explains it then. The algorithm of capping. Or more anti-capping-assholes-popular-word "exposure time". Enjoy while it lasts :)

Something must had happened to Pond5, because we are noticing a big drop in sales also in the past 2-3 months. We have 13000+ of footage.

SS and Pond went down this month, but AS up. So, in the end, it is the same crap income. In other words, buyers are buying stuff elsewhere. At least thank god it is not SB.

Is it already possible to change the preview thumbnail? Many clips don't have very representative thumbs.

They need more time to steal as much as they can from contributors...

Over 12k video clips on Adobe, but SS with 13k still beats the crap out of them...  :o

go into dog training school. You'll learn much more without the need of electric collars.

this would be a laugh if August would be identical in income to July/June/May. Three times in a row is suspicious, but four times in a row? I mean identical, with a $1+-

136
In most cases I just blur it out... but you can save time apply makeup over in the production process.

137
Oh, I misread, I thought that from 15. of August this will go live.  :o

I think in August we are already at the point where we sold more $1.50 than regular video sales. GG SS.

140
Got ours too....  :o just yesterday got pissed off over adobe media encoder not rendering random files and already thinking about switching to DR for working with stock files.

I'll be less pissed off over bugs now because it is free. Thx Adobe!

Extremely bad month on our side too... one pic and one video clip sold in 14 days. Is Adobe stock dead?

When I heard about BB and what it offers I was 100% against it. Why? Simple. Pay the staff you hired and if things go well, you'll hire them again. Splitting income is a bad longterm idea. You invest a lot of own resources, time, equipment, post-processing and time to get profitable results. If you cut all incomes with all the actors and other stuff, you'll never return your own investment. Never.

144
it is the same as applying for a crapy paid job and then whine to everyone around you about bad payment. you knew you applied, deal with it. Or delete clips and stick to agencies that don't dump prices.

145
it is your own fault even uploading clips there.

146
Nice. Good news.

Are the icons your work? Add a property beside with screenshots of them and submit again. Yea, SS is very annoying with any recognizable artwork or a car, or a phone models.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Bad july.. How was yours?

Lol, if you say so. I literally have said I don't think there is a "cap" and I have stated what I believed already. But hey, keep going! I used the phrase flat-earther because you seem to live in your self imposed denial where anything that contradicts your narrative gets discarded, but I guess it went over your head. No worries. No cap my friend. And wherever you went to get that background in stats, well, you may want to look at refunds. I think they did you a disservice  :)

Have at it. Arguing with you is pointless. You think you are smarter than you actually are. Done for tonight, good luck.

I just used simple logic to prove the cap theory wrong, indeed.
I'm glad you agreed with logic and got convinced.

You can drop that dictionary now.  ;D

I used a simple logic to prove that cap theory exists too... it is called statistics and math. We took that in school, remember?
No one on here has the statistics to prove "capping" exists or otherwise which is why the argument keeps going at best we can say it is possible that some people might be capped and not everyone is capped. The rest is a guess.

Of course... I can't see anything strange from this graph too. That's why it took some time to investigate sales in deeper numbers in a few years of time.
