using 3.0.3

uploading is fast and takes seconds, but submitting takes up to 10 minutes per image

never been so slow

edit: now it doesn't submit them, only upload (I check on esp and see files are uploading but not submitted)

am ok with that but it takes so much time to fail submitting and start upload of next file
Yes, it takes ages at the moments for the thumbnails to generate.
Don't worry about that though. I make DeepMeta explicitly wait for thumbnails to be generated, as test, because some vector artists were seeing issues with thumbnails.

Upcoming versions will no longer wait for the thumbnails, so uploading will be fast again.

I've downloaded the latest version of DM. All the files I've send to the uploadqueue are back as "to upload"...
when I try to adjust the keywords it says "File already send to ESP, may no longer be edited".
Again, while uploading some files I see this AWS upload 404 not found message.
When you can no longer edit the files in DeepMeta, you can go to the ESP site and complete the uploads there.
I'm looking into the 404 errors. These seem to be related to bad network conditions, but I'm trying to avoid them all together.

Thanks for reporting!

on the ESP site I see the file ID, name and title and the Status: not submitted so cannot proces anything there

You should be able to click the "Submit" button at the ESP site, at the top right corner. If it's disabled, you probably need to complete some fields shown at the right, in red.

Hi,

For some reason, whenever I click on add model releases, DeepMeta crashes. I got it to work one time randomly (thank goodness as I uploaded everything I needed for that time), but it started crashing again every time. I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem?

Could you send me some info by mail?
Address is here http://www.deepmeta.com/Contact/Form/

Please include the version number of DeepMeta and the username you use to log into DeepMeta.
I'll look into it. Thanks.

Hi Franky, thanks for your great job.

A question about new Getty sales reports.

We need to upload the .txt sales report in Deep Meta and linking sales and thumbnails ... Read this pdf, excel or txt report without thumbnails is a huge waste of time ...

Maybe could you do something for us ?

Thanks in advance.

I agree, lots of detail we could only dream of in the past. Certainly have plans for such an import feature.. Thanks.

Thank you, you did a great job with new update with MRs.

In history log while I importing new images there is few non understandable errors:

1. Error out of memory
2. JPG too small  (my jpg file is 6656x4228)

Also while I am deleting images from DM, DeepMeta only deletes image thumbnail, not complete row with image data... I am trying to delete not submitted images ("to edit images)

Thank you!

Thanks for reporting. I'll have a look

Yes, good idea ... we need to ask Franky De Meyer.

I love the details in that report as well. Indeed a lot of info we never got to see.
Definitely have plans to integrate this in DeepMeta.

Hi,

I have few questions with DM 3.0.6.

1. Is it necessary to adding MRs for every batch, even if I added same MRs in another batch from same shooting. The problem is I can not add more than 100 images per batch, therefore I have to separate in few batches, and every time I have to add same MRs to batch.

2. After I assign MRs to image, for example 2 MRs, and I see two ticks next to the name of MR, after I click OK on editing windows, on main window I see 4 MRs assigned to image... DM double those MRs. To explain better: there is two same MR for every person on image, or 4 MR if there is 2 persons on image.

3. I started to uploading one batch of 100 images, and DM uploaded 3 files. Now, when I click upload, it uploads only MR of first file in queue and stop. Any idea?

Thank you for your help, and I really appreciate your work.

EDIT: I think I figure our question number 2. That is because I have copied all information from another batch, and DM copied and MRs also, even if they do not exist in newly created batch.
Thanks for your detailed report.

I was initially going to block copying releases from one batch to another, but forgot this, so the feature remained enabled. That's why you get these errors.

Now I see so many users are using this feature to copy releases between batches (indeed due to the batch limit of 100, I guess), I will leave the feature enabled and will fix any issues. Thanks!

I miss 2 things that were available in the previous version:
1) column with description characters;
2) editorial click - so date, month and year appears automatically.
Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestions. A few questions:

1) Just to make sure: you mean a counter that shows the number of characters you currently have in the description?
2) Where do you want the date, month and year to appear? In the description field? (which now also acts as caption field)?
It's no longer required to put the date there, the separate "Date created" field is enough, and that should be filled in automatically from the IPTC data.

Let me know if I misunderstood anything and thanks again for chiming in with your suggestions!

Yes, I was able to see how many characters I have in the description after I write it down.
About the date - I dod not know it is not required anymore. But for editorial images I think it should be in the description. All the big news agancies do it like that.
Thank you for youe effords.

Thanks for your clarification on the description character count. I've put it on the list.

As for editorial: here's what I got from the FAQ (requires forum login):
https://contributors.gettyimages.com/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&m=68123#post68123

Quote
"For iStock Editorial Use Only uploads, contributors previously needed to add a detailed caption describing the scene, which had to follow a very strict format. However, the creation date and country are now required fields for all ESP photo submissions and it was decided to relax the rules a little on Editorial captions. ESP doesn't have a caption field, so contributors must use the Description field instead. In the Description field you will no longer need to start your caption with the strict formatting for city, country and date. Please continue to provide a useful description of the scene, including the WWWWWs of the image - who, what, where, when and why. Also, please add any info relevant to the image to help the inspector and any potential buyers, but it no longer needs to be in a rigid format."

Which is great news for sure. Getting the rigid format right was hard and caused a lot of questions.

Hello, thanks for the great app.

Is there a way to check the file status, accepted, rejected etc.? Am I missing something like a fetch data button etc.?

Or do we need to check it on ESP website?

Thanks.
That's coming soon ... after I've fixed a few issues, I'll start adding additional functionality, like 2-way sync with the ESP server.
Thanks.

How about the old big space for keywords, so we can see them all at once?
Now is very difficult and time consuming.
Thank you!

I also think that is important. Pasting and removing keywords is very difficult to that single line keyword box.

Other than that, I think I love the new version too.
Thanks, and true the keyword box is small. You'll be able to make that zone as big as you like in the next release (v3.0.6, planned for this evening)

And when you go to the ESP page: https://esp.gettyimages.com/app
There's a drop down list at the top left, allowing you to select batch types. It can list 4 types: "Creative Video", "Creative Image", "Creative Illustration" and "Editorial Image". When you click that list, do you see "Creative Illustration" in that list?

No, just "iStock Creative Image" and "iStock Editorial Image"
why "Creative Illustration" isn't show in there..?
do you think "Error 403-forbidden" because of this?

Yes that's the reason.
Some other users are not seeing the types they expect either, so I've added more info here (item N2):
http://www.deepmeta.com/Support/FAQ/#N2

Better contact Getty and ask why you don't see Illustrations in the list on the ESP site (assuming you're accepted as Illustration contributor of course ;)

Well, couldn't is simply mean you "have no access rights for creating a batch of that type"? ;)

What type of batch is it? (Image, Video, Illustration, Editorial image)
And do you have upload rights for that type?

At the moment, I don't have access to that info from the ESP server, so I only find out when actually trying to create such a batch.

Let me know. Thanks

Hi, i have no problem uploading with DM before the ESP system
Its an illustration, and I don't need the model releases / property releases so if left them blank

I agree, very distressing to see an empty list come up.

I have just released v3.0.5 which hopefully fixes this. Could you try and let me know?
Thanks!

Hey Franky thanks for keep updating, just tried v3.0.5 and the result came up

however really appreciate your work :)

Big issue so far:

When starting up deepmeta, often all my batches and files are gone (place is blank and empty), i can repeat closing software and opening it again, and randomly they appear and disappear again. I cant upload anything due that, is really annoying. Sometimes i launch it, and batches are there, but files are not, Next time it is otherway, but most of the time everything is empty, like nothing is there, and whenever i create new batch it looks like its only one there, but after closing the software once again, everything is gone.

The keywording panel is nice to work with, it's a time saver! But.... there is still some work to do:
The suggestions it sometimes show do not always make sense to me. For example: Graveyard, it comes up with Bermuda Triangle. I know some planes and ships went missing there but are there really so many images submitted about the triangle that this has to be shown as a suggestion?
Well, I can't do much about the terms being suggested, as these come from the Getty Vocabulary, but the latest version (3.0.4 for Mac, or 3.0.5 for Win) allow you to just select the keyword itself if none of the suggested terms make sense.

This will add the keyword as non-vocabulary keyword. These are still searchable by buyers, they are just not translated.
Give it a try and let me know.

The new versions also immediately put keywords in the left valid list if there is only one Vocabulary term available and it's named exactly like your keyword.

118
Is there any way that we can move files from one batch to another? (non-uploaded files)
Not yet. Planned for later.
You'll have to re-add those files in a new batch and use copy/paste to transfer the data.
The next release will certainly stop you from putting more than 100 files in a batch.

I have managed access Deep Metta 3 but Non of my details or images are showing. It's all blank. No help from support. Completely in the dark

You could have just asked ;)    http://www.deepmeta.com/Contact

Here's the info you're looking for (item N8):
http://www.deepmeta.com/Support/FAQ/#N8

If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to ask!

So, DeepMeta should not allow to load more than 100 files in one single batch (as it actually does).
It will be also nice to get alert if this number is exceeded.
And the ability to transfer the additional files in a new batch automatically could be a plus.
Agree. I'm working on the next release, and will pop up a warning if the additional files added would go over the limit.
Nice idea about creating an extra batch automatically (after user confirms). I'll probably add that at a later date.
Thanks!

Hello Franky,
I have already used Deepmeta version 3 and successfully submitted 99 files (photos), but now when I click 'start upload' to submit other photos I get an error message 422 - Unprocessable entity.
Thanks in advance for your response/advice.

There can be no more than 99 files in one batch - is that right?
100 is the maximum

Yesterday I uploaded a batch of 99 images into DM3, keyworded them all and submitted 50 of them.
Today I intended to submit the rest, but all the images have disappeared from the batch (as well as images from other batches), so my yesterday's work is lost.
How can I retreive the images?
I don't believe you lost them, but there is still a display bug in the windows version.
try restarting DeepMeta. I'll be looking into that.

124
While uploading using DeepMeta 3 I get the error:
Error: 422 422 - submission_batch: maximum number of contributions reached

My batch contains 155 files
After 100 successful uploads I have got this error

Are the batches limited to 100 files?
Does ESP accept no more than 100 files per batch?

With the previous version of DeepMeta (2) the limit was 9999
Yes the batches are limited to 100 files.
That's the info I got from Getty.

I do believe you can create as many batches as you like though.

Sadly, I have not got ESP invitation and cannot log in to DM3 either.
If you're video contributor, you don't need an invitation and should have gotten your ESP credentials a few years back.

If you're not a video contributor, or lost them, best to contact iStock:
