Thank you very much.  I  will  look into that straight away.  What a waste of money  the EasyStock  software  was.  Instead of uploading  3 photos at once to DT it only uploaded  one.  Real waste of money.

Thank you sooooo  much for all your help.  I  bought the EasyStock uploader but was so disappointed  when i realised that it doesn't let me add keywords  and description to photos.  I  don't use the  subscription  Photoshop. I  use Affinity  fit editing and that doesn't let me add keywords to the photos.  Do other FTP uploaders let me add keywords  and description  to each photo?

Very sad. At least my photos get viewed  there.  The same photos on Fotolia  have no views but i do have less on Fotolia.  They are rejecting photos taken inside so much. Do i need  to  buy a light tent instead of working on windows?

Thank you.  I  am not  uploading  to iStock yet. I  am  new. I  do like DT for learning  but have a high acceptance rate there but not with  Fotolia.  The same photos get rejected  by  Fotolia.  I  am not sure if my photos are good enough for iStock.  I  don't have problems to get photos accepted  that i took outside  but with the  light set up  inside  i struggle.  I  don't have a light tent. Natural window light doesn't seem to be enough for DT. I  do use a reflector. I  don't like artificial light on food. I  will  try out iStock.

I  have severe problems with  my  arms  and  I  am  only uploading  to 4 agencies.  Would it be better  to go with just one exclusive  in order to get more paid?  If yes which one?  I  do like DT because they tell me what's wrong with my photos.  I  get views on DT but hardly any on Fotolia. No sales yet.  Would it be best to go exclusive  with SS ?

Is anybody earning money from selling on 500px?

Does MostPhotos belong to the low earners? What are they all about? Are they similar to 500px ? Is 500px selling anything at all?

Good to know. It is strange because the same Photo was chosen for an award only that there chosen one has a red background and this one is on a white background. It's not out of focus. Rejected for technical reasons but there is no noise. Only reason I can think of is the shadow.

Do you have any tips for Fotolia? I had 8 photos accepted by DT and Fotolia rejected 7 out of these 8. I don't even know why. Does the light always have to come from the left side? Is it not allowed to have a shadow on the table when taking food photos?

should I call Fotolia and tell them that they have several photos on their website where this castle is shown and even shown as the main subject. On my photo it is so far away on top of the hill, only 3/4 of it is visible and the main focus is the lake, the promenade and the houses on the promenade. Maybe I should not mention the castle in the description. It is okay that they refuse it, but why do they have sooooo many photos of the castle on their website?

General Stock Discussion / Fotolia Intellectual property law
« on: April 18, 2016, 02:14 »
I don't understand this. I have uploaded a photo of Meersburg on lake Constance to Fotolia. I have taken the photo from a ship on the lake and you can mainly see the promenade, trees along the promenade and houses on the hill. On top you can see the castle Meersburg. The image was declined. Reason: Intellectual property law. But I don't understand this. There own website has photos of Meersburg castle, taken from the lake and even much closer. Even photos of just the castle. Why are they then on there? I wanted to take photos of Haribo gummy bears. There are other companies who produce gummy bears. Can I take a photo of them out shall I better leave it?  The same Photo of Meersburg castle was accepted by Photo4me.

Is there a software you can recommend? Doesn't have to be free but shouldn't have a monthly fee.

Is Go stock good? I am still copying and pasting. That has to stop. I don't want to pay for ProMaster. I don't upload enough for that but too much for my damaged arms to cope with.

I didn't use the photo with the cappuccino written on the wall. Well, I am trying to shoot photos inside but I am having real problems with light settings. Here it is always raining. Yesterday we had nice weather and I wanted to shoot something outside. I am new and I am trying to learn.

I took one photo but on the wall I could read cappuccino... I thought that would give away the restaurant especially because it is a chain of restaurants. I wonder what I am allowed to shoot and what not. I have a photo of an esplanade with 2 cars in it. One being a red van, the other a dark car. You can't see number plates and they are at the far end of the photo. If that then for editorial? Does editorial sell at all if it's not of people?

Lucky me. It was accepted as commercial. How is it in general? Can I take photos in restaurants and coffee shops without property release form? I do have a photo and there is a bench on grass. In the background is one house and a field of daffodils. Would I need a property release form because of that house?

Hi, I am also a newbie. You are doing well. Your post gave me hope. Most of my photos are on Dreamstime. I started 2 month ago but have not sold anything yet. I have only 15 photos on there so far. Congratulations to your sales.

Hello again. I have taken a photo inside a restaurant and I do have a model release form. It is my first photo with a model in it. Do I need a property release form if I take photos inside a restaurant, coffee shop....

Oh, thank you so much. That would make it sooooooo much easier for me. Outside shots I do in RAW because many go for print on canvas if my arms are good enough for editing them. They are a lot of work. I mean print on canvas.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I already have damaged arms from  using the computer too much. Do I have to shoot images in RAW when taking photos of food at home?  Wouldn't it be a lot faster to just shoot in JPEG? Less editing? I can't take many photos because of my injured arms. Well, taking photos is not so much the problem but the spending time on computer is really damaging my arms further. The time I spend on a photo and uploading them. I only upload to 4 agencies. I can't cope with more. When outside I take photos in RAW.

Thank you. Good to know. But what if I do want to upload it? Would I have to clone the leaves away? I started doing it but when I zoomed in I didn't like how the grass looked. Mind you, I didn't clone, I used the blemish removal tool. I just want to know in general if the leaves would have to go. Brilliant. What to shoot then? They are thousands of food photos on the websites as well. I have the feeling they have enough images of everything.

General Stock Discussion / Newbie question
« on: April 04, 2016, 10:28 »
I am new to microstock and I have a question. I have taken a photo in a public park a few days ago with a beautiful flower bed and pavilion. There are everywhere rather big dry leaves on the grass in front of the pavilion. Do I need to clone them all away or would that ruin the quality of the image? Shall I leave it natural as it is. If I would sell it as a print on canvas I would have to remove the leaves. I don't know about microstock. Thank you for all your answers in advance.
