General Stock Discussion / Re: October 2008 earnings breakdown
« on: October 28, 2008, 12:10 »
I love the weak Euro too!
And I already know one result: BME at Fotolia.  :)

352
I finally was able to calculate my results (been out of town for two wonderful weeks).
Now I just did the stats and discovered, September had been a BME - and this even though I did not do much work. Barely uploaded. Earnings are 16% up and if October keeps growing at similar rate i might still crack the 300$ a month mark (I am sure ldambies and DanP are laughing their heads off while reading this.  ;))

Anyways here is the breakdown:
FT 50.8% (my monthly income there has more than doubled compared to what it was in April, so BME by wide margin)
IS 26.0%
SS 14.1% (one download more than August - slow slow slow, but my fault entirely - no uploads...)
DT 9.2% (finally picking up again)

My last payments from Shutterstock have usually been in at the 6th or 7th of the month. Now we already have the 8th. Maybe the first being a holiday in the States and 6th and 7th being weekends delay payments this month.

2nd best month this year. Up 10% from July, which wasn't really bad.

FT: 48.8% (BME by a lot)
IS: 29.6%
SS: 15.2% (WM this year)
DT: 6.4%

My sales have been getting better every month since May. Very satisfied.

2nd worst month this year. However, by far not as bad as I expected. I only uploaded 5 files to SS and less than 10 to FT. Haven't uploaded to IS and DT since April. FT was again my best earner and the new month started with an EL.

Breakdown:
Overall:      -6%

FT: 42,3% (a bit down to June)
IS: 32,6% (down to June)
SS: 18,3% (up from June)
DT: 6,8% (bit down from June)

360
revenue slightly up from May, so the summer slump hasn't hit me yet. However, the last two weeks were slower.

FT 40.9% (another really good month there)
IS 37.2% (best month this year in income, no uploads from me since April)
SS 14.9% (slow due to me taking a break with uploads from April to end of June)
DT 7.0% (another agency I haven't uploaded to since April)

361
Rating out of 10 is very subjective - where is 1 and where is 10. So maybe % might work better. Not sure though.

362
I am with Dan here. Since the commission raise and the other subtle changes I am considering to recontinue uploading. Only thing holding me back at the moment is that I am too busy with my main job.

Wow!

Also they tried to prevent us from seeing the French Forum and vice versa by routing HTTP requests from http://fr.fotolia.com/forum to http://us.fotolia.com/forum

But there is actually a very easy workaround to still see both forums.

Could you describe this workaround? The German site I am registered with is not known for making changes very public. So I would love to keep reading the US forum. (No use for me to trying to read anything in French...)

Posted it over there, do it here now too.
For now I am stopping my uploads there, to see how things develop. I have had an increase in sales last month, but this subscription plan feels like a rip-off.

Overall slightly up, which surprises me. I had no time to upload. ah - and the 300$ per month are still far away for me. *shrugs shoulders*

FT: 44.6% (BME)
IS: 32.7% (slightly down from April)
SS: 17.1% (down unsurprisingly)
DT: 5.7% (down by 50%)  >:(

500-3000$ - and I just had the first 33c sale.

370
Worst Month this year so far. FT dropped significantly. SS and DT were slower, only at IS it was a really good month.
Here is the breakdown:

FT: 25.5%
IS: 35.8% (2nd best month ever)
SS: 27.1%
DT: 11.6%
LO: 0.0%

Far off the 300$ mark - so congrats to DanP for making it.

So maybe we could wait for LO last few days , write them a mail to transfer all our remaining money on someones single account and then he could send it to someone that it really needs , I suggest UNICEF.

Just a thought.

I could live with a solution like that.

372
I am still in that race, but I am nowhere near accomplishing it. Despite my (modest) efforts of portfoliobuilding, the sales have not kept up, especially SS is slow this month, and FT. At this point I have barely made half of 300$. So only a miracle will bring me to the 300.

What is there to laugh about?

374
I recently made a blogpost about two finds of the same picture: http://mellimage.blogspot.com/2008/03/picture-in-use-curious-guinea-pig.html

One of my guinea pigs was used in a German magazine and also in the magazine the Zoogoer (Washington DC), though I have not seen it in that magazine (someone on Istock told me about that).

375
Overall better than Feb, but worse than January.

FT 29.3% (down from Feb)
IS 32.4% (up from Feb)
SS 25.4% (down from Feb)
LO 0.00%
DT 12.9% (up and my BME there, but still building my portfolio)
