Sounds like a place to sign up then especially if they are not sooo fussy.

I had a big scan-fest of lots of 6 x 4 photos from trips around the USA, I corrected them for noise etc but have got most of them refused by agencies for being soft or having dof issues with the exception of 123rf who took them all.

So it wold be nice to have them somewhere else after all that hassle.

Are we allowed to post referals?

If so can someone post one for feature pics if they have a system and I can send them some Scotland photos.

Also referrals for Scanstockphoto, Gimmestock would be welcome.

Thanks

Firstly do they have a queue?

On the 13-03 I uploaded 53 photos
On the 14-03 I uploaded 66 photos
On the 15-03 I uploaded 55 photos
On the 16-03 I uploaded 25 photos
On the 17-03 I uploaded 12 photos

None were reviewed until the 17 of March and they reviewed the whole and only rejected 2 bringing my grand total of rejections to 11.

Does anyone else get very few rejections from them?
My acceptance rating is 97% this can't be right my next highest is Big Stock with 78% with others in the 60-70% range. I won't mention ISP and Fotolia they are a bit low.

OK so stockphotomedia accepted 59/59 but they are desperate for photos

I personally find ISP take 7-9 days to reject (I mean review) my photos.

With one exception when I dared to submit two scanned photos that had been accepted and downloaded at other sites and they were rejected the same day so presumably they have a seperate reviewing staff for scans.

I still laugh when photos that were rejected by one site get downloaded at another site they weren't so fussy, though I wish the "good" photos would sell as well.

But they get their in the end.

Due to their strange system of having only 20 images in the pending queue I made quite a line of images about 200 but after another 20 were reviewed I could finish off all the other files.

After waiting a week progress is being made and there are more acceptances than rejections so it was worth the wait.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a five sales over a 4 day period with just 30 photos of course no sales before or since then but hopefully with a bigger portfolio.

Any comments on their review times or sales?

I posted this in the Dreamtime forum on the 24-03-06

An interesting feature to sacrifice one of your photos so you can get your 15 minutes of fame (well 24 hours).

I submitted one of Edinburgh castle by night yesterday, I am just wondering how long is the queue for free photos days, weeks, months or years?

How does the selection process work all the great ones go into a queue to be displayed. Will contributors of not so great photos be notified by e-mail I presume those that made the cut do?

The reply was

"The image submitted now and accepted will be available in the beginning of June. The list is long, we are forced to be very selective so submit only a couple of shots and the ones that you think are good for that feature.

We are not informing users that were not selected, sorry, it would take too long. We will automate this queue, so all of you are notified....but it will take a while. "

I personally think if you have a lot of similar images its worth sacrificing one to give the others a chance so Leaf you still have probably another month to wait.

Well in the last few moments of British Summer Time 0.40 BST 26-03-06

Lets make it a three horse race

ISP 698,077 with 26,419 waiting
SS 653,025 with ?? waiting
F   486,637 with 11,468 waiting

So 45,000 between the first two. I seem to remember Fotolia broke the 400,000 mark at the beginning of the month (They had 100,000 in November) though their 20c bounty for photos has been revoked so I guess their growth will slow down a bit now.

If you submit to fotolia first you can use their duplicate keyword checker then save them in a text file until its that time of day to submit to ISP, problem solved, though the javaloader sounds easier.

I usually use only 7-10 keywords I noticed CanStockPhoto have introduced a rule that any photos submitted with vague keywords will be rejected their example a picture of earring and listing lady, wedding, valentines day. So be careful

Its not so much ISP rule 10 uploads per days having to wait 24 hours so today I got distracted by a new 8mp camera so was out taking photos and didn't get round to uploading until 9pm so on Sunday i will have to wait until 9pm.

Of course now i have the same problem with CanStockPhoto my acceptance rate is below 75% so only 10 per 24 hours as well.

Must give ISP java loader a go as i quite like CanStockPhoto loader dragging thumbnails.

ISP obvuiously like you as I am on 10/day though my acceptance rate is just over 30% they rejected the first 9 so now i am very happy to made it up to 58 photos online with them about a quarter of my other portfolios.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Fotolia Sales
« on: March 25, 2006, 19:04 »
Hi,

First time on this site saw a link in 123rf.

Glad to see people moaning about Fotolia. I managed to upload 200 photo to them during Feb so got my bounty but I get the feeling most of their members are photographers who tried to do the same thing.

Sales are slow though i did earn 11c from my 4 photos in the free section. I never use their ftp option as there is always complaints about it in their forum. though i kept on getting error messages in French this evening trying to upload a few photos but i got there in the end.

I always laugh when they have their "scheduled maintenance" in the afternoon, I don't think so your hardware has crashed. Well hopefully when their image base has caught up with SS and ISP so will their sales though supposedly you can cash out before $100 but they charge you a $1.

I have pretty much submitted all my useable photos to about half a dozen agencies so in the meantime whilst I am waiting for it to stop raining so I take some more does anyone had any sales from

gimmestock
scanstockphotos
stockXpert
featurepics

I have heard of the first two someone was complaining they had no sales in 5 months. If anyone has any referal links for those four they can e-mail me so at least someone makes a few $$.

I have written a short guide from my experiences with Stock agencies so far which can be found at

www.fintastique.com/guide.com

Not too much info on SS as they flunked me for 10 sample photos and despite having portfolios with ISP,DT,CanStockPhoto,123 + Fotolio they still think i need to wait the full three months.

Sorry I should have made about three different posts with that lot.
