I was waiting, but my balance was reset already about 1 month
If you read that people have been paid on the 25th, and it's still IF, get ready to contact them immediately if you don't.
Hope it works out for you.

My balance also disappeared in early January and since then my balance is just the few downloads that have happened since. I thought this must have happened to everyone and it would reappear when ESP eventually gives us some figures.  If there are others out there that didn't have enough for payout did your balance also reset in early January?

Yes it's OK I sell between 2 and 6 images a month every month and make more than 123RF/DT/BS & DP combined and more than Fotolia or iStock

But they don't tend to sell the more usual microstock fair

Do you mind me asking how big your port is and how long you have contributed there? I have also only had three sales in almost 12 months nut I like Alamy and hope to do better eventually. I only have about 450 images. I keep reading it's mainly editorial type images that sell well.

128
I've only been selling for 12 months but since my second month I've never had only one download for the whole month and that's all I have for January. Did anyone else have a really bad January? Maybe they decided they needed the money more than me  >:(

I'm hoping when the data shows up I will get a nice surprise... maybe even payout which I normally would have had by now.

It's the 20th in my part of the world... nothing yet! Anyone have any figures yet?

Thanks Irina and SpaceStockFootage. Video is such a learning curve!

I think the quality should be okay but I will take your advice to upload 1080p version as well.

I also want to start doing videos. I don't know much at all but my camera is capable of 4K, should I start with 4K?

Yes, inappropriate keywords is really irritating - especially when they are OK!
25c is indeed feeble for subs - but FT gives even less - and most CS commissions are for more than this (I refuse to do BS for 25c with keywording hassle and rarely anything other than subs).
It is the lowest earning site I will deal with - but at the end of the year it's a nice little bonus for minimal uploading effort.
Everyone must decide for themselves. Would love to get more - but such is life!
Hi Sarah, uploading to BS is really easy now and they accept almost everything. I even got an EL yesterday... nearly fell off my chair!  ;D I also find they have accepted things rejected by SS and they actually sell! But you're right, mostly subs from them but I only receive 25c from SS and as you noted, even less from FT for subs.

Have any of you rejects received payout yet? I understand they will pay us what they owe us. It's not much for me but I still want it.
I assume they will wait till they get round to removing our unworthy efforts mine were still hanging around spoiling the look of their brilliant collection.
Thanks Pauws. I assumed they would have deleted them straight away, but you're right, mine are also still there. I would have thought it would be very easy to disable and delete our accounts but apparently not...
Yep but they might start losing money from our sales....but wait a minute our efforts aren't good enough to sell. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they forget who they have got rid of.
You might be right  :o  ;D
Honestly, they won't miss my port at all but I'm sure there are plenty of you that are making good money for them!

Maybe try Xpiks, I've never had a problem with it and it's so easy to use.

Xpiks can upload photos to SS?
Yes, it's what I always use. It's free. You just need your FTP code and you're good to go. Just a warning in case it happens to you... I can't click to upload, I have to drag and drop... just a little fault for some reason.

In almost 12 months I've only had a few sales but most are better than 25c. Maybe if I had a large port it would be worth it. Uploading is easy so I can live in hope of a payout one day 😁

New Sites - General / Re: What do 500px actually sell?
« on: January 16, 2017, 16:11 »
Better idea is to setup your free photography website here http://shutterforge.com/. It's already setup to sell your work.

Well that looks interesting, actually.  Although they do no marketing of their own, have no keyword search, so no one is going to find you there except maybe by Google search.  They do claim to be properly SEO optimized.

I sell prints on FAA and there are some things seriously wrong there.  Shutterforge might be a nice addition.

I have tried FAA but have sold nothing. It seems you need to do a lot of self promotion. Do you do any marketing for your images? Is it possible to sell without it?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Amounts disappeared from Stats Page

I think someone mentioned that today was the last day to retrieve our stats, is that right? If I download the CSV file from the monthly earnings is that the only information we are able to retrieve or is there somewhere else?

I do go to the forum occasionally but it's quite confusing where to look for the latest information.

It was moved up below total earned.

Added: there's a thread over on their forum which has a link where you can see your royalties charts.

I can't find it ShadySue, could you tell me the name of the thread I would find it in please? (Is that allowed?)
It just seems that iStock wants to keep all information secret and tell us nothing.

Do they still have a forum? They've apparently killed the old one, and I haven't been able to find the new one.

Yes, contributors.gettyimages.com

I was putting keywords, descriptions etc. in Xpiks but if you keep that file for future use you have extra side files to store as well so now all keywords, titles and descriptions are done in Lightroom. Then I upload to most through Xpiks. I wasted so much time when I started by not putting that information on in Lightroom.

Are you sure? Tags are right there in the original files, the extra files, as I understood and read in the Xpiks thread, are just some internal Xpiks backups, not really needed. Am I missing something?
If you need to go back and edit the pic, missed a dust spot or want to use a different size file the title and description are not in Lightroom for you to export. So it's just easier to fill all fields in LR and you're right for any future work on the file. When pulling into Xpiks it just uses the information that's already on the file.
