Shutterstock.com / Re: No search results, no image portfolio
« on: August 24, 2016, 23:59 »
I just know nobody can choose to have glitches....it just happens. Just like at my workplace. Also you can not keep a system forever and not try to improve just to avoid problems. Its normal to have problems especially large such a large agency ss is. If we would had control over glitches believe me nobody would have. Nobody enjoys it. IT world is not that simple.

So you loose 5 times 13 dollars = 65 dollars and win 15 dollars... Difference from 28-13.

Fot most customers time is money.... No time to wait for an answer from CS and hope maybe it will be accepted.

I think you loose much mote money by loosing potential gor lower amounts then that you win from the few that will contact you.

Open the edit keywords screen on your laptop. Fill the nathtub with soap and put a rubber duck in it. Then throw the laptop in the warm water.  Done.

Photography Equipment / Re: Sony A6000
« on: August 22, 2016, 12:02 »
If Canon 50d 60d 70d are good for stock than a sony a6000 is fore sure. You should know that the sensor is as large as any other aps c dslr camera. Its the inside that matters. Sony A7 is smaller from outside then a canon 60d but the A7 has a much larger sensor...full frame. So better image quality then larger canon body. So to answer your question YES....Sony A6000 is more then matching micro. I use the older model sony a nex 6. Shooting at iso 1600 without problem and are all accepted in micros.

Sony a6000 has an aps c sensor just like the bulky dslrs. So no difference with quality if not better.

Exclusives work for one rf agency and so use all their energy to it. I believe if someone invest that time only to ss they could be better of.

I have to agree. I know everyone has different experience but in general ss is a must. I used to be exclusive with dt also but i never made as much as on SS. If i would be working with one agency then shutterstock. You will get more from it.

Best things of ss is fast review....often witthin hour...
Regular sales.
They approve as good as every subject as long legal, techincal and composition are fine.

Alamy.com / Re: Question for Mirco
« on: August 19, 2016, 04:15 »
There is a blog of Alamy about changes to restrictions. Its from a few weeks ago. In that blog they mention that the new contributor tools are coming somewhere in september. So i guess till then for sure no changes.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Observations as a buyer
« on: August 18, 2016, 05:59 »
I am sorry but for me this OP message can never be a base to decide if there is "trash" in micro or not. There are millions of opinions. If one "hater" decides to write a message it can not be that it is valid in general.

For now it doesnt look like micro or shutterstock is going down soon..... fact is that several macros lost it. If i put Sweden landscape on shutterstock i dont really see trash, neither less quality then macros. It is all about the search engine.

Not everyone needs mega beatiful images. A documentairy book about Sweden would rather need a photo that shows the "REAL" view of a landscape then a fancy colorwonder.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Thinking of joining SS
« on: July 24, 2016, 14:47 »
I only can say that joining SS is a no brainer. Also belueving that Istock exclusives makes standard more is questionable. Most SS contributors that reports earnings here use their time to submit also to other agencies while Istock exclusives only to istock. This means that istock exclusives have possibility to add mote images. Istock exclusives should be only compared to people that submit only to SS. Also SS edit photos while istock accepts everything. SS shows also strong numbers regarding payouts to contributors.

Many oversee that Shutterstock itself DOESNT HAS A PROBLEM AT ALL. When i read this it looks like Shutterstock is dying. But Shutterstock is growing every year. There is no way in near future that SS goes out of business. I guess they will only upgrade and expand. The problems mentioned here have nothing to do with Shutterstocks position.

It is a contributors problem. More competition.... more images....

Anyway i dont like in general that contributors are all the time pointing at other contributors. Complaining that there are to many and so on...... SS is for everyone and everybody has right to register and submit photos.

65
There are always individual cases but in general when i look on the right ss is far ahead of fotolia. If ever something will happen, what i doubt, maybe in coming years. Ss is leader for many many years and until now nobody came even close. There is shutterstock and the rest fighting for second spot.

The most activity on Dreamstime are people that put their milestone of uploaded images. Milestone 100 images online. Milestone 150 images online.  :-X

You will never get a clear answer. One says yes and other no. So you have to decide yourself.

Anyway being exclusive there and missing on Shutterstock is a crazy waste. I earn on SS ten times more then when i was excl on DT.

« on: June 13, 2016, 08:12 »
I really understand it and I don't mind to wait even two weeks as long I am sure they are not stucked. For me the most strange is that editorial review also stopped. Two different review lines in the same moment. Somehow it gives me a strange feeling.

But perhaps everything is really allright and just coincidence.

Thanks!!!

I am very patience.

It is not about the time...it is about the sudden change. Editorial and commercial both suddenly stopped despite it are two different lines of reviewers.

I just got an answer on the SS forum and it seems that I am not the only one.

I just want to figure out if it is a glitch.

Shutterstock.com / Long review times?
« on: June 13, 2016, 06:18 »
Hello fellow contributors,

I already wrote support about it but no answer yet.

Normally photos are reviewed within 24 hours. I also submit editorial and those within few hours. But suddenly since Thursday none of my files are getting reviewed. I would say nothing if it would be other agency but that suddenly nothing happens is very strange to me and I am worried for a bug. Do you also experience significant delay / stucked in review?

Thanks.

Photo Critique / Re: Another photo rejected by SS
« on: June 07, 2016, 09:16 »
I think that SS approves far more photos then other agebcies. They look more on technical quality and composition rather then subject. Just need to make sure white balance, focus, sharpness and exposure is ok with a composition and you are in. I really take care about this points and almost everything gets accepted. If you submit regular images with flaws i experienced they reject also more often full batches.

As long you show submitters that you care and are carefull you will feel it with almost full acceptance.

74
It seems that there is no way to pass shutterstock.

75
It is totally no issue. Let it be.
