All businesses rely on knowledge.  Very few businesses will drop $uber dollars on an idea without some level of confidence.  Remember Videoblocks?

If an individual with a large portfolio can garner 10,000 customers then that not pennies.  David owns the stock, he can sell it for what he likes. Feed the family etc. while other agencies cut our earnings.

If you search 'business' in footage it shows all of Gorodenkoff's work too, pages and pages.  I suspect this is just a glitch or data analysis trial.  It's been Thanks Giving too so hoping it sorts itself out once the programmers return to the Empire State building.

We should send a message to support though.

Microstock News / Re: Sad News

I met Scott in Vegas for the first time last year at Adobe MAX. We shared a bear and laughed for while. He was a lovely person. Very sad news. RIP Scott.

Video takes a lot of hard work and experience to compete with the pro contributors in this area.  Video sales are declining too. Video is still far more expensive and more time consuming.

6
Hypothetical:  There's a new agency and it looks very professional, they have a lot of great images and videos, they have a decent advertising budget and the CEO is willing to listen to Contributors before anyone else.

The CEO has watched the rise and fall of larger agencies like Getty and the generosity of Videoblocks (to a point)

So here's a blank canvas and a chance to air our views.  What do we as contributors consider a fair balance.  How do we help an agency survive and thrive while we make a good return for our hard work.  I look forward to your needs, wants and wishes.

Why am I asking this? I will be launching a new site in September and want to do things differently.  We have a good launch investment and a very experienced stock team.  Let's do it the right way and stay that way!

Off Topic / Re: Trump in Putin's pocket

I was in my gym this morning in California with about 15 other middle aged Anericans. I was the only person reading the subtitles on the tv screens showing the Trump / Putin summit.  I just don't  think Anetican people care about the news. Im the only Brit there so I guess its a cultural thing.

New Sites - General / Re: Swoozo

From a contributor point of view pricing is important and I think we need to set a decent minimum

That's a good question Roberto. Actually I've been using photo jpeg .mov's for about 8 years but I'm now considering alternative codecs.

What are we submitting nowadays? h264?

12
If I had to delete a video clip from Fotolia will it automatically delete from Adobe Stock?

Thanks for the advice.

General Stock Discussion / Remove content from Getty Images
« on: April 03, 2018, 19:49 »
I have a clip that needs to be removed from istock and Getty as I've sold it outright.  Can I only do this now by contacting them?

Thanks for your advice.

It will be a percentage share only so no upfront $0.50.  just % of total membership royalties earned per month split down per artist depending what % their downloads contributed.

I've tried FTP uploads there again today and it's incredibly slow compared to the last few weeks (one quarter the upload speed).  Anyone experiencing this?

General - Top Sites / Re: Predictions for december
« on: November 10, 2017, 23:53 »
I predict roaring sales followed by one day of zero, probably around the 25th.  Then roaring sales again until some US holiday or Chinese New Year or Spong Bob day or whatever :)

I deleted my video portfolio from Getty two years ago even though then I made nearly $1000 pm with them. They undervalued my work so I pulled the plug and went non exclusive. Best thing I ever did.  I wonder where Lobo is now.... Hopefully Bering treated the way he likes to treat others, with complete disregard for human decency.

Perhaps this is just one stage before the new better incarnation.

How I wish this were true.  On a positive note though if your next 1800 images are as good and commercial as the original 200 then yes. They might even be better! Good luck.

Hi All,

I haven't seen a sales email or financial update on my sales page for two days.

Anyone else?

Thanks.

Video sales were down on last year on SS and P5 despite 2000 more uploads and better content.

For me it's been like this for months. I've started to notice a few new images selling but not enough to make a difference. I'm with you. I'm going to slow down on submitting.

General Stock Discussion / How was your April?
« on: May 01, 2017, 08:57 »
Well after a horribly slow start and all throughout Easter, things picked up towards the end of April.  Comparable to 2016 but that's not fantastic after a lot of uploading.  Shifting sands?  Shutterstock starting to slide against others including Fotolia perhaps.  May might give a clearer indication.

How was your April?
