I'm not sure why would you do that? Is there any harm that those photos are doing?

Software / Re: Why is Lightroom so painfully slow ?

I have i7 870, 8GB ram, Catalog on SSD and photos on old Samsung f3 and Seagate Barracuda and it's working just fine with 16mpx raws. I had a problem when I upgraded from 6mpx camera, then I doubled the amount of ram and everything was fine again.

Well they don't appear right away, takes some time, a day or two. Sometimes they appear right away, then disappear and after some time they finally settle down on being visible.

no it with sub and everything
Subs haven't been reported since 22nd Dec and PP, G+ and GI haven't been reported for December yet, far less January.

That said, I'm fully expecting credit sales to be fewer and fewer as the year goes on, and our $$ will follow, as the site moves to be just another cheap subs site.

I'd like to be surprised, but I don't expect it.

Well that explains it, since I mostly get just subs...

455
Not to open a new thread just to ask, do they even review images these days? I have a batch waiting for a month.
And yes, almost nothing happening compared to SS which is strange since IS has been better for me till now.

456
A CPL filter should help to eliminate reflected light and give more intensity to colors including skin tones.

With a bit more than 100 photos on istock I'm probably not in position to judge but anyway I really don't feel it, istock is as good as shutterstock for me, actually even better with better prices and in my short time and tiny volume I even scored single $40 sale. But yes I agree, ticking boxes in order to explain what my keywords that I already entered mean is really painful.

When I started nothing really happened too, but after a month or so it started moving, both with view and sales.
But it's not unusual to have sales while counter states zero views too. I say give it time and volume. 3 is really like having nothing uploaded at all, it's a drop in the sea.

I was putting keywords, descriptions etc. in Xpiks but if you keep that file for future use you have extra side files to store as well so now all keywords, titles and descriptions are done in Lightroom. Then I upload to most through Xpiks. I wasted so much time when I started by not putting that information on in Lightroom.

Are you sure? Tags are right there in the original files, the extra files, as I understood and read in the Xpiks thread, are just some internal Xpiks backups, not really needed. Am I missing something?

459
Here's what I do, I use Xpiks (you can find a thread about here, I think the developer himself is running it) to keyword and then upload to as much agencies as it supports, to the rest which aren't supported I upload manually.

Since I can't actually shoot 1080p on my D610, I've been using my smartphone for 4k. Works pretty well in decent light, as long as you keep it steady or use a gimbal. The new G85/G80, however, may have better value for the money compared to the G7, as it has in-body stabilization.

Why can't D610 shoot 1080p?

When you all are reporting poor sales on Istock, do you count the sales through the partners programs? I though my earnings were low there until I noticed the statistics panel and all those downloads through partners. I actually make twice as much on Istock than I make on shutter stock at present, mostly partners programs. My port there is below 400 images.

Yes, same here, I get regular downloads on IS partner program and I actually have only one! regular IS download, I don't understand it but it's working I guess.

I started around spring, but took a big workload on my dayjob so I didn't have almost any energy left to upload over the summer and I'm around 100 images at FT, IS and SS. Still mostly just unloading photos from archive, travel, pets and such. But my most downloaded image is of the business type I shot with stock in mind.

IS stalled for the whole month or so, but after that really picked up, all downloads trough partner program, only one regular download and that's editorial. IS seems the most regular for me and I even got one single 40$ download of an image that didn't sell at all before that, again partner program.

SS picked right away with regular downloads while IS was still at zero despite having images there for more than a month. But SS stalled over the summer a lot.

FT was dead for months, I already asked here about that. Recently it started moving but only a few downloads.

I had about 3 images on DT, didn't really want to bother, got one download.

Go to upload page, then to manage media tab (5), should be there. No categories.
You don't have to upload IS on web, you can use DeepMeta.

But does it even matter, will anyone ever want to know and prove if you used free or paid software for commercial stock, or is it just the etics thing?

Sony Vegas feels so natural and logical and is very easy to use especially for anyone who previously used Acid and SoundForge.

I got one or two of those and was wandering what it is, but last night something a bit more interesting happened, I got one image sold trough partner program for $40. Wow, while being a beginner with less than 100 images and mostly just in a process of unloading travel stuff from hdd that might sell before actually shooting anything stock oriented, I'm amazed, I just hope it gets a habit of it, if it ever happens again at all :D

Interestingly, a first few all have the same type of hipster color grading, brownish with raised blacks :)

Thank you for responses.
My best sellers so far on other agencies are travel photos, from Europe and I'm Europe based although not EU. Again my port is tiny and I still didn't include any released concepts, so I hope it's take off after including the stock shot stuff.

I admit I skipped the keyword ranking, but my photos do show up in searches.

Hi, I started recently, got some 50-80 files on FT, IS and SS. While with IS and SS I started having downloads right after uploading some 20 files, FT has zero movement for me, some views and that's all. While I understand that my portfolio is still tiny, I was expecting at least a fraction of what is happening for me at IS and SS to get me going.

I was wondering if the country selection on FT maybe has any impact? Or FT is simply a lower performer and need bigger amount of files to get thing going?

Ha, I actually got a bunch accepted, then a few more photos, so I assumed the reviewer is in a good mood so I resubmitted all the rejects and all of them were approved :)

Last two days reviews are like realtime, a minute after the upload files are reviewed. Meanwhile IS is taking a month to review...

When two countries (or any other entities or sides) are at war and you are being fired on, you return fire, you don't care if the guy on the other side has a family, he didn't care if you had. You don't stand and watch or shout "that's wrong!"

I really can't understand a logic where a group of people can fire at other group of people and only one of those groups is entitled to return fire. Police just got a little taste of what they've been doing for a long time and everyone should feel for them? We should be civilized now? Let's talk now, not shoot? Yeah right, tell that to innocent people killed by police, they too have families.

If the police didn't want to get sniped they shouldn't have killed innocent people for fun. Simple as that. If you are policeman  and you are innocent and you judge the killing of innocent people, well, step out and say it: "Something in police doesn't work let do something about it" - if you say nothing you as well might be a murderer.

So something in police doesn't work, so therefore, let's arm all civilians and declare open war on cops? And while we are at it, let's arm ALL civilians with semi- and automatic weapons, so we can show all the innocent bystanders just who's boss. This war is just like a nuclear war...there are no winners. Everybody dies. Is that what should happen? No. What should happen is EVERYBODY puts down their guns and finds some other solutions to all their hate and ignorance. And even if one side tries to make changes, the other side digs in their heels and is not willing to compromise, kind of like when legislators say they want to put firmer gun control laws and regulations in place, the NRA and followers shout at the top of their lungs NO OUTLAWING OF GUNS. Until both sides are willing to compromise, nothing will change and the violence will continue.  :(

No it's not a solution to have a total war, but I just can't judge returning fire, sometimes you have to show a force, especially if you are fighting a mindless force that knows no other way.

Well apparently not, since the youtube is full of videos of people shooting anything from pistols to large caliber sniper rifles at random things...

Well that's a shame, it's supposed to be a complete replacement, ultimate one package solution for photographers and designers.
