Got the answer from iStock support: I need to submit a new US Tax form (W-8BEN). I never got the info from iStock the previous one has expired.

I got the notification earlier this month and filled it in, can't really remember if it was email or esp notification.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Dreamstime uploading not working?
« on: January 28, 2021, 12:17 »
I still get the unfinished tab bug, it won't clear despite I finished submitting, but it's a minor annoyance.
I upload using FTP, works as it used to, still need to wait for processing depending on image size and quantity, there's a progress bar now but it doesn't seem to move lol.

New interface appeared today for me, maybe that was the reason for bugs lately.

It's strange cause I'm from Serbia and as you imagine it isn't a particularly developed marketplace for stock images, well until recently it seems.
Maybe they are experimenting with small markets only, who knows, yet it's really strange to me.

« on: November 04, 2020, 12:24 »
I the recent months I've seen a high number of regional sales, I have a feeling that they did something to algorithms to cause this, like to show buyers from a certain region images from contributors from the same region. Does that make sense? Anyone else notice it? And I'm not talking about region specific images. It could be a sheer luck but still I find it strange.

I see no September statement.

Pond5 / Photo prices
« on: October 09, 2020, 08:22 »
So I was wondering what prices did you set at P5 for photos?

Also, I've seen lots of photos priced at around 500$, what's up with that, are they just fishing in the dark or there is some logic behind it?

General Stock Discussion / Re: How do you keyword?
« on: October 08, 2020, 08:22 »
When I have jpegs ready (out of PS or LR) I store them in a designated stock batch folders and then use Xpiks to keyword and upload. Sometimes I use keywording tools, Xpiks builtin or ImStocker. Xpiks also supports videos keywording and upload and can export .csv optimized for every agency. Nice advert for Xpiks, right? :) No really, it makes my life much easier, I love it.

General Stock Discussion / Re: 3d animation upscaling?

Have you tried Topaz A.I. Gigapixel? It works wonders for upscaling, but expect heavy gpu load. Thou it might cause artifacts or flickering in frames as it might process them differently due to AI.

Everybody gangsta with AI cameras until this happens. :D

Another strong month, right now IS seems like my best option, despite all I can't deny it keeps earning for me.

Adobe Stock / Re: No sales in August
« on: August 25, 2020, 10:32 »
Since the SS earnings structure change, there is a drop in my AS sales

Used to have 1 to 4 sales a week

But in August not a single sale!

Is it the vacation period, Corona or is there to much compatition (since the SS structure change)?

How are your August sales on AS?

1 to 4 sales a week is marginally different to 0 sales a week. In other words it's so easy to drop from 4 to 0 for whatever reason and main one being more competing images. If you had say 50 sales a week and dropped to 0 that would be an indicator that something is really wrong.

No, login seems normal.

I don't think that's a rule, it's just preference for motion sensation, yours and what you think suits and will sell better, I don't even think they have a way of knowing what shutterspeed was. I'm sure there are tons of videos shot on mobile phones and accepted with no regards to any of the parameters.

Strong month.

92
Also I find Dreamstime submitting process rather fast, categories auto populate and are rather accurate and interface is generally responsive.

I'm just now wondering if I should close Eyeem before it's too late, iStock is my biggest earner I wouldn't want to lose that over some stupid thing Eyeem did.
If I got it right, your images will be removed from the Eyeem collection at Getty, while your iStock portfolio stays intact. I would just leave it as it is, and meanwhile take the commissions coming in from Eyeem for as long as it lasts. Besides, after you remove your images from Eyeem it may take them weeks to delete them from Getty... if they ever do this.

That's ok if it goes like that, if in the end our accounts get closed at both agencies, with this thing happening over at SS, there's only Adobe left.
I know people here are not fond of istock, but it's always worked for me far better that SS.

95
Ok but is every photo on istock transferred to Getty? Does that have anything to do with some check box thingy, something along the lines of "consider this photo for inclusion in Getty collection"?

96
So are all files on iStock also on Getty?
Even if you ditch Eyeem files stay on Getty?

Regarding release, yes you need new release for every day of shooting, they are quite strict about it and date on release must match date in exif.

98
I remember way back when you searched a photo on Google the majority would have DT watermark, at one point (probably the one mentioned) it just stopped happening.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Database total :did you notice ?
« on: June 05, 2020, 17:28 »
Just noticed this on dreamstime:  "Due to the massive uploads, our pending area has been limited to 1000 submissions per user daily. Please continue the upload process after 24 hours have passed since your first submission."

Are contributors migrating from SS to DT?

Im already a DT contributor, but Im moving my SS portfolio to Pond5. Wondering if they too see an increase at the moment....

Photos?

It's been like that for years, sometimes it just bugs and takes more time for images to process and appear as unfinished.

So we are all all over DT now? :)
