« on: December 19, 2018, 21:09 »
I am down 50%. My sales have progressively begun to regress since January. What an awful month.  But then again I haven't uploaded video there in quite some time.  Not going to get desperate and upload vids there for that kind of return.

Alamay is able to do this because most of their content is non exclusive. Very little risk to their new revenue goals but a positive message they can send all while not really changing a thing on the pay cut.

NFW

For reasons that have been discussed fully in the other threads Artist posted a link to. Discussing it again won't change any of the issues.

Tell Chad to do his own sales pitches. Sorry you've decided to help OnePixel on their latest "undercut on price to see if we can grab some market share" enterprise.

Honestly, it feels like Mr. Rinder might have some kind of stake in One Pixel. Otherwise I cannot understand why he subliminally is pushing to give them a try. Why isn't "the Chad" in here himself trying to sell his model? Is Mr. Rinder his proxy?  Not trying to create any conspiracy but this just seems 180 degrees opposite of Mr. Rinder's past posts. So that tells me there "could" be alternative reasons for such a change of heart (or close to it anyway).

Alamy is a privately owned company
Look at how many shares the directors have and they huge profits they end up with each year, and growing btw.
Now they are going to screw all their contributors, and in another few years will screw they again.
They will do this indefinitely or as long as contributors are willing to upload or leave their images there.
This was one of a couple agencies I thought stood apart in treating their contributors fairly.
They have taken the piss

Yep. He even waffled in his video on that note.

I wonder if SS should do what Dreamstime does- any image that doesn't sell in a time period is removed. Of course, if SS just didn't accept the poor image in the first place they wouldn't have to worry about cleaning it up!

How's DT doing? Hmm, they went from 13.6 four years ago, people here earning an average of $680 a month to now, averaging $230 a month. Some great plan?  ::)

I won't neglect that SS has dropped $500 a month for the average person here as well.

I've gone from around $180 a month to $20 a month on DT and from $800 a month on SS to, well, this month will be $400, last month $500, so a drop based on a sudden change.

Interestingly, I have not received an email from DT on "unsold images" in probably a year.

All mine are there as well, but my portfolio there says csp_backyardproduct, which I think is my Canstock account. This could explain the occasional "large" sales I get on Canstock - one for $33.80 last month for instance. I don't get many, but they have been more frequent of late and they tend to be more "artistic" or "wall art" subjects

Steve

Yes. I have had two $30 plus sales in the last couple of months, but those are rare. Makes me feel good when I see a giant spike on the states, but that joy is deflated when you look at the Y axis:)

Alamy.com / Re: Today Bites- REFUND by Alamy again
« on: November 24, 2018, 09:32 »
I've had my fair share of refunds but have learned to accept it at Alamy. Overall, they have been a pretty fair agency when comparing to others "micro sites". While Alamy is not technically micro, they are inching their way closer to that model.  Not defending their policy but they do respond to emails and they do pop in here to address issues, which is way more than I can say about SS or most other micros. When Scott Braut was part of this forum it was meaningful.  Once he left, SS became just another agency to me. RIP Scott.

Its true!  SS  is collecting all the garbage under the sun! pics that normally would be thrown away are accepted all over the place.

If I had to choose one factor that is hurting SS the most it's this.

Yes, the impact is negative.  Selling about half what I did before the change.

seems like when we find a money making area the companies soon reduce commissions or give our stuff away for basically free!  :-[

Yes. Previously, these people would have to pay full price for a 720 res file.  SS and other companies really only looked at this through the lens of the share holders.  They could attract more customers willing to pay far less than a 720 clip and perhaps affect top line sales more favorably that the base who would typically purchase 720 rez.  The loser is the supplier.  The loser will usually always be the supplier.

Nikon D810, 30,000 shutter actuations, clean.  Been six months since sensor cleaning, though. $1700. Comes in original packaging with a battery, strap, charger and cable. Prefer to ship in the USA only (for now:)

Sigma Art 20 mm 1.4.  Had it for a couple of years but never used it.  Bought for astro ended up sitting on in my Pelican case.  $600 firm.  In brand new condition and perhaps less than 50 images taken with it. Comes in original box.

I have two Nikon D7100's. Clean. $350 each.

Happy to send photos. I am the original owner for all of this.

PM me if interested.  Heading to Fred Miranda next.

I don't know why people dislike iStock so much, it sells.

Going from $400 in September to $200 in Oct is not my idea of success.
What happened :(

Enviado desde mi ALP-L29 mediante Tapatalk

If me or anyone could figure that out we would be rich:) Seriously, I do not have a clue.  What I do know is that it's been quite some time since I've uploaded video there and only now and then am I uploading images.  I suppose it would be inactivity if they use that in their algorithm.  Who knows, though.

Something is really wrong for me with SS.  I am at $100 for November. I should be at three times that minimum based on my trend.  At this rate I will end the month at $300, which is 50% less than the last few months and 70% less than my multi year usual of $800-$900 per month.

I was making in the $150-$180 range per month and today it takes me two months to make payout.  They are pretty dead for me.

Haven't seen any volume increase. In fact, VB is very soft on sales for me right now. One sale a month. Last sale was half of $49.

How are your sales in 2018 going at Motion Elements?

I closed my account there...well not really but technically.  You are not allowed to delete clips that have sold for three years.  But, I deleted all other clips and the 25 or so that have sold, I deleted all of the keywords, descriptions, etc. SO they sit idle for three more years.  Their system stopped accepting their CSV format. I tried working on that with them and it was never fixed.  So I said fk it.  I'm out.

General Stock Discussion / Re: 123rf slow to review
« on: October 04, 2018, 07:28 »
I almost don't care about how they review.  Sales going from 180 a month to now waiting two months just to make a $50 payout means that they can review all they want, but their business as a whole is dying.  You can send them a message to review your work, then you can send them another one asking why your work isn't showing up.  Maybe they will fix it or maybe the problem is not currently addressable due to lack of I.T. resources, or whatever.  123 is in a race with DT for the going out of business.  I now make double from DP with fewer photos and no videos on their site.

We are merely watching the industry dynamics happen.
