General - Stock Video / Re: Motion elements payment delay
« on: January 30, 2018, 12:08 »
I have had one sale this January 11 for $34.5 earnings. Is there a minimum payout?
Sales report states "We will be making this payout to your PayPal account between the 15th to the 18th of Feb 2018"

Just a fast suggestion to see if it helps but it has to do with Premiere.
Right click to the clip, choose speed, set it to say 50%
but at time interpolation choose optical flow.
Render it for viewing purposes only and it will probably be smoother.

This has nothing to do with what he's asking about. Optical flow is for FAKE slow motion. This is real slow motion where the frames exist.

Why not read the question and avoid further confusion?
Mea culpa!

Stocksy / Re: Call To Artists is Open!
« on: November 07, 2017, 03:38 »
Just my case Brasilnut! I have about one in four accepted up to now, though still waiting for videos review. Have to ask, why RM and not Royalty Free to Alamy? Should I also tag them editorial only, or not?

I was also rejected. I got the same - probably preset - answer eZeePics was given. I gave it a try but I am actually happier I got accepted and started uploading to robertharding because I mostly do travel pics and videos. Now I understand why Brasilnut mentions you have to slowly build your portfolio there!

For several hours when I go to my uploads and hit edit, the new page opens but when I try to save changes the page crashes to my artist logo and background banner and nothing is saved. I have tried on windows 7 and 10 with firefox and chrome with different IP at work and home. Am I the only one to have the problem?

I have also applied and just today been accepted as a photo - video contributor. I haven't even had the time to send the signed contract back, which I will do now. Since I mostly do travel stock, it's up to me to decide what to send where. But I think that a "better" picture (whatever that means) will sell for more there, even once, than as part of a subscription elswhere. I can always send some time sensitive editorials to micro. When for example I was in one of my frequent trips to Rome and Spanish Steps were renovated, I sold editorials with the workers in place. Or when there was a strike in Milan and people burned the palm trees in Milan's Duomo square, I was there. These are "lucky" pics that would have more luck at micro or Alamy. To also share my personal experience, I earn more with videos but mostly if the content is unique or not widely offered.

For those uploading videos to multiple agencies, I pay a monthly subscription to a cloud agency that - through a web interface - allows my to upload once to their cloud and then, using their fast speed, send as many times I wish to the agencies ftp I want. Then again, managing multiple cloud drives means you have to include the paid cost for maintaining them. I end up paying two times but it is many times faster than waiting to upload 4K videos for every single agency separatelly, since you only upload once.

Adobe Stock / Re: Video credit royalty?
« on: September 22, 2017, 13:04 »
I got 28 minus 30 %, due to country treaty tax cut, which leaves me with 19.6 credits. So, 8,4 goes to taxes!

I can see my photos when searching, but I cannot find my artist name or "more from same artist" button or option.

I had also forgotten to load my memory card only to realize it when carnival queen reached the start of the carnival parade in Greece. I asked my wife to go back and bring me one, watching her murmuring some rated words! Until she returned, I ended up using my mobile phone for raw dng (in vain) and up uploading the video material to You Tube (which also got me less views than previous years!) . From then on, I carry with me - at a credit card size holder - seven cards, just in case!

Just received an email from Videoblocks stating the addition of a new, editorial feature.
Prior to that, today when uploading, I have already seen a new tick space with the editorial category next to it, for us to choose it or not.
They also mention that in the future, we could (doesn't for now say should) do that to already published material.
One of the question that rises is if this material will be reviewed faster or not.

May I suggest a much cheaper solution. I now mostly shoot video at 100 Mbps with a Sony A 6300. When in need and lack of laptop, I transfer as follows: with a Kingston MobileLite Wireless G2 (there's a newer model available - MobileLite Wireless G3 at http://www.kingston.com/en/wireless/wireless_readers/mlwg3) One slot takes the camera SD Memory and the other, the USB slot, an NTFS formatted USB stick. You can use a remote interface to transfer - from or to - Android and IOS devices. Since MobileLite G2 (or G3) doubles as a power bank, you can use a CF adapter but the limitation is the other end would still have to be an SDHC card. Then again, you probably have some spare cards to backup. I have not tested if this scenario works with a portable HDD, copying from SDHC to HDD. There is also a micro USB slot that someone might know if it can accept a CF adaptor. Probably not exactly what you were looking for, but it might be an alternative.

Being just a couple of months new to micro stock , with 100 250 clips and photos up, depending on the site, I have some small sales that have profited me with about 160$ for now.
I currently use a Canon G7X but decided to go with the Sony A6300, mostly for 4K.
Although widely covered, I mostly do travel work and need a small and light camera.
Being a video editor in the most popular Greek TV station, I come around various equipment, from broadcast recordings to cameras like a C200 and know the details of post production.
Reviews suggest that the kit lens (16-50mm) of a Sony A6300 blurs in the wide setting and only sharpens in the middle, when closing f stops to the right.
I need a lens with a smooth power zoom slider.
Should I go for a Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS or a Sigma or Tamron, always at a price of no more than 600$?
Finally, is this wide setting blur, visible in photos, also visible on video? If you have a wide lens but need to zoom in to avoid blurriness you are already limited by your camera.
