Many contributors talk about their wonderful photos or illustrations and cry because they dont sell. I am sure they are wonderful, but maybe only for the museum or National Geographic. If they are purposely made for the net and they do not sell they are worthless. If so, its better to say bye bye to SS or so

I would say that there are many advantages when they change search algorithms, because the old stuff gets a second chance, otherwise it would disappear for good.

Every photo, every illustration has a certain expiry date or call it life span. A photo with the most beautiful girl in the world with a cell phone in her hands, which is a couple of years old becomes soon or later worthless. Or think about the fast moving fashion trend, the shoes, the hair style! Every woman knows very well how outdated the outfit of a model is. Or think about the kitchen equipment if you shoot culinary photos.
How many photo will resist the revegas of time.
If you do not keep up with the times you are out. This is one reason, why photos or illustrations suddenly do not sell anymore. Is this the reason why the old folks on this forum complain all the time? because they are simple out of date?

What . is this discussion all about? If somebody does not like peanuts any longer, he or she should just stop eating them. Thats all. Why do spend all this time to explain the hundred reasons for???
What is Shutterstock all about? God Father for microstockers?

I am very lucky. I am in the business since three years. From my point of view everything works fine. Bad for those who have the golden days in mind. I dont know about them. I found my nitch nobody can compete with.

Everybody is convinced, that he or she is doing a wonderful job. This is O.K. The taste of the people who buy are crucial and not the individual likings of the artist.
In the past I made so stupid nonsense images which sell like hot cakes and I made so wonderful artistic things which never go. Look at the election campaign in the US what people are longing for.... it represents the taste and flavour of the masses. Artists must be like prostitutes, otherwise they wont sell.

If you dont hit the market you will die, reversed, if you do hit the market you will gain. All complains about falling sales are worthless and a waste of time. Make better photos, videos or illustrations, thats all.

General Stock Discussion / Loyalty towards stock agencies
« on: September 30, 2016, 10:40 »
Employees who condemn or insult their bosses in public or on the net get dismissed or even taken to court since they damage to the interests of their company. What will happen to contributors who do the same to their stock agencies here in this forum? What will be the consequence referring to their sales?
I suppose they just lose.
