Just wanted to highlight this outside of the features thread. https://contributor.stock.adobe.com/en/insights/best/contributorsSome pretty nice work. And just for continuity: The goal of this feature, apart from celebrating our talented contributors, is to inform you of what type of content is trending based purely on sales data. Contributors of the week are determined each week using the following process:
For each asset type we generate a list of 400 contributors who made the most sales in the previous week, only considering their uploads from the past six months. Then, we order the list based on each contributors uploads/sales ratio, and the top 10 contributors on this list are featured as Contributors of the week.
Contributors are eligible to be featured at most once every five weeks. This selection process is subject to change in the future.1) most sales in the previous week, 2) only considering their uploads from the past six months 3) uploads/sales ratio Looks like a fairly current viewpoint, not a historic catalog. Just imagine if "popular" also worked something like this on some sites.

Times have changed. Many used to upload to as many agencies as they could. I remember one friend who was approaching 50. Also with the automated software, it's much easier to upload to many. The subject has come up recently and I'm just wondering how people here still feel about everything everywhere or if the distribution has changed to being more selective?
If anyone wants to explain why, that would be interesting as well, but I just wanted a simple survey of how many places do you usually upload to when you make a new image? So please don't include dormant or ignored or those that have your old work, but don't get anything new. Not Video or audio or templates or POD or any of the alternatives.
Only who gets new still images, illustrations, Etc.
Just Stock Image and News Agencies.

Why is Dreamstime listed as one of the Big 4 when it's #8 and behind Pond5, Alamy, 123RF, and Deposit?

First guess was, bad battery. Nope, I tried four that are all fine in other ##-D cameras. I was thinking high battery usage, something draining them fast? Nope, put them on the charger and in under a minute full charge. Edit: now the second two batteries are taking longer. Of course if two are old, and recarge fast, short life, but two are newer and take longer to re-charge... I'm back to the camera is draining them? I'm guessing now that the camera is registering low power and shutting down, because of an error in the hardware or software that reads the battery voltage. Before I send this in to Canon, anyone have a similar experience or advise. I'm thinking I can maybe pull the system battery and leave it for a complete reset. I did some searches, so far only found people with drain problems, non-Canon lenses or while the camera was off. I haven't located anything where fully functional camera, gives false battery low reports.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/shutterstock-reports-first-quarter-2018-110200026.htmlFirst Quarter 2018 highlights as compared to First Quarter 2017: Key Operating Metrics. Paid downloads increased 0.5% to 43.7 million. Revenue per download increased 16.8% to $3.40. Image collection expanded 41.6% to 187 million images. Video collection expanded 45.1% to 10 million clips. Earlier News - holdings and ratings. https://www.dispatchtribunal.com/2018/04/22/metropolitan-life-insurance-co-ny-cuts-stake-in-shutterstock-sstk.htmlFeb. 22nd 2018 - "Shutterstock also saw its key operating metrics continue to climb. The number of paid downloads rose 4% to 43.9 million, accelerating from their pace of growth last quarter. Revenue per download climbed 11% to $3.33, continuing a nice double-digit percentage run higher. The company now sports more than 170 million images and 9.1 million videos in its collection, sustaining growth rates near 50% for both metrics." Looked this morning, the stock was at $50 a share which I still think is high, at least 20% over what it should be.

https://www.superstock.com/I was reviewing a website to see if I would apply to be their manager and all the photos came from SuperStock. Oddly the website was built with Website Builder. I don't know if that's a connection or not. Anyone work SuperStock and if so, what do they pay? There's a page to apply as a contributor but nothing about commission.

http://www.pinsdaddy.com/business_KZMU9gKUrXg5eRQCXBYgGhNXN*GyqTAn59CPSfizecs/ Oh tricky, illegal characters, the link would need to be copied and pasted. Here's Tiny URL version: https://tinyurl.com/ybsktayxWelcome to our Business section from here you can click on your desired Business image and use the Business picture embed code to add to your blogs, forums, websites and other online media. The embed code contains all necessary CC attribution, that are mandatory to include, so you don't need to contribute the image authors manually. If you want, you can customize your Business embed code: resize the Business image as well as select the position in which you would like it to appear on in your article. It's then simply a case of copying the short code and pasting the Business code into your post.Is this legal? I see some of these as crediting some site that probably paid for the use. There are also other searches with watermarks still on them Shutterstock for example. I didn't cross search but I'm sure that people here will start to see their work or friends.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/denver-post-publishes-photo-wrong-park-coors-field-guide-article-1.3918457This image of Citzens Bank Park was published in the Denver Post under an article that was supposed to be a guide to Coors Field. (Michael Heiman/Getty Images) Or does this mean the original photo from Getty was misidentified by the Denver Post? Why does the caption show Getty as the source then, with photo credits to Michael Heiman - Senior Director, Editorial Operations at Getty Images? Kind of odd all over, because it's a Getty Photo in both cases. Just makes me wonder where they got the misidentified photo in the first place. Like... a stock site with spammed up keywords?

Just a heads up, in case anyone here thinks there's really an Email from DT with the Subject: Past Due Invoices It's spam or phishing I didn't click the link. I'll be sending this to DT now.

I've been using ws_ftp since pretty much forever. All my sites have all lower case files and names. Now I switched to Filezilla and it's making a mess od things.
How do I force lower case names and extension on Filezilla? Searched and I see requests back to 2003, their forum has no answers, FAQ... does anyone know? Or do I have to get some extra utility and run it on all my directories for the website data?
I think I found the setting for local editor, same problem. With other ftp, double click on a file, it opens in word (I still edit web pages as text) FZ it tries to transfer. If I click Edit it opens in a browser, or downloads the file to the main FZ folder? How is that Edit?

Can anyone explain this? The rejection reason is: Technical Error Thanks for giving us the chance to consider your image. Unfortunately, during our review we found that it contains one or more technical issues, so we can't accept it into our collection. Can I edit and re-submit? It's vague. Found this after looking in the forum, link to a link to a link. Technical issues
When we reject a file based on technical issues, we have identified technical flaws other than focus, exposure, or artifacts, which we call out specifically. Photography and video technical issues include but arent limited to
White balance: The white balance may be too warm or too cool.
Note:
When you shoot in raw formats, you have great flexibility to adjust the white balance in your post-processing workflows.
Contrast: There may be too much or not enough contrast.
Saturation: Oversaturation may give your file an unnatural look, but under-saturated or spot color can also result in technical decline.
Note:
You may want to try the Vibrance slider instead of Saturation in Lightroom.
Selections: Editing must be done inconspicuously. Selecting objects out of their backgrounds (or masking) to composite into new images requires time, patience, and care. Do not submit images that have been poorly selected or look like they are not a natural part of the scene.
Chromatic aberration: Refers to color fringing around objects in the image.
General composition: Is your horizon straight? Have you cropped the image too much? Consider leaving a designer room to add their own text or objects. Best I can eliminate is: other than focus, exposure, or artifacts, which we call out specificallyBut mostly I don't know the latest at AS/FT about resubmitting rejected images if I correct the flaw, which I'll need to guess at?

I go to an image, copy the link, click the image box up in the upper left (below the B) and paste. Nothing... I can manually add the IMG commands. And by the way, bold or Italic or all the rest of the Insert buttons don't work. I'm thinking it's something I have going on, like pop-up blocker, which I turned off, and still no go? I checked all the local settings. Anyone have any idea?

I have these ideas, but I don't really use them, or share most, and they are of no real use or value. I thought I might as well share some. This is theatre of the absurd humor, sometimes, for those of you who are humor impaired or think sarcasm is a mean crevasse in some mountain of serious solid granite. OK I'm not, but sometimes it might reflect on the industry as a whole. It's not about "you" for people who seem to think, everything is somehow about them personally, and it's not even about me. It's just a loud guffaw at some of the silliness we create or are forced to endure working at this. As a hobby or a living, we're all in the same boat much of the time.

Actually my Oct. was pretty good, but that was a bunch of ODs and SOD on SS. While IS wiped thousands of my files in the new improved ESP version, because they were competing editorial with Getty. AdobeStock is climbing and steady. (or actually stock.adobe.com)
