General Stock Discussion / Re: best agencies
« on: January 25, 2024, 11:02 »
I guess what I'm looking for is one more website to constantly reload the contributor summary page on.  Seems to me it's pretty clearly AS in first place, istock in a distant 2nd and SS is trying to win the race for last place (for photo and a little video).  If I'm going to waste time submitting to SS maybe I can waste a little more at dreamstime or depositphoto or something?  Seems dreamstime is the consensus 4th least worst?  Correct me if I'm wrong.

Nope you're not wrong. The problem comes down to, what are your images and how many? Then how much time will you have to spend to drop those images into a black hole?  ;) Yes, DT is probably the next best after the three, and maybe DP is next after that.

If there was a 4th I'd want to know that too.

My point of view is, there are only 3 right now. Yes I have a DT account, I'm trying to make it to $100 so I can close it. BUT... I have a friend or two that make payout there, every few months. I think there are others here who say they like the returns from DP. And there are people who have dropped SS when the reset and 10c commissions came in.

In the end, you'll have to try and see or depending on what your images are, see what your personal results are. Mine say, AS, SS and IS. All the rest that I hang on to, are dying or dead.

Dreamstime.com / Re: The Dreamstime levels system
« on: January 24, 2024, 13:28 »
This is like complaining about the quality of the food on the Titanic. Dreamstime is a sinking ship, the levels didn't mean much 5-10 years ago but certainly don't matter today, because the majority is sub sales anyway (not just on DT)...if you're lucky to get sales at all.

Some people might have other experience.
Dreamstime is not a strong earner for me. But during all the years I've been doing microstock, sales and earnings there have been steady. Not much, but steady. That's not what I consider a "sinking ship". A sinking ship, for me, is an agance where earnings are constantly declining - like, at least for me, Shutterstock is doing right now.

I have a variety, oldest is "last month" newest is 6 days ago. But in between that, some have been accepted and are live. 19 days, 15 days, 12 days, 6 days. I wouldn't call that very quick. And I promise on a good day, has never been faster that SSTK.

« on: January 24, 2024, 13:11 »
Yes, I seem to have the same issue. Not sure which images they are though - but there is something that doesn't match. Might be a bug in their system.

Yes, Definitely does't match and I wish there's an answer to the solution. I also find that in my public portfolio, the images are way less than in my actual portfolio in my dashboard, I have about 400 images, but the public portfolio only display about 30 of them, when i click "show more" at the bottom of the page, it show other contributors works.

Portfolio link is not everything, only what you added to that section.

For your entire portfolio, not so easy, but you can see what someone else would see by using, what a customer would see:  https://stock.adobe.com/search/images?creator_id=#######  where ####### is you account ID number

See what shows there?  Then click in the upper left where it says ALL and you can select various filters. You can also search from the top for specific images.

Make a bookmark and there you are, customer view of your portfolio.

I always have my cats do those challenges for me.  They're not human but they think they are.  Or at least smarter than us.

They only interact when they want food or are trying to kill us by running between our feet while we are walking down the stairs! Then the usual, so innocent eyes, looking up? You mean me, what?

Note the toes on the orange? 26 of them

I wasn't actually trying and I found this one. All stolen and they don't understand what the images are.  https://www.amazon.ca/s?i=stripbooks&rh=p_27%3AColor+Me%21

Sorry - that just returned a listing of different types of books - did you have a specific book you found?

COLOR ME with various names and extensions, that are the same system, same "artist". Copy outline images, make a collection paperback of those images. The variations are the same name over and over, with a minor change.

They are all COLOR ME and the NASCAR book isn't NASCAR, it's someone who just collected a bunch of car line drawings, and called it that. The cover is backwards and they are sports cars.

Review time on Adobe is so ...random now?
It was really fast a week ago and now it has come to a full-stop for me. Not a single image reviewed in 5 days.

I can promise you, they are not reviewed in order of upload. I have waiting, 1 month, 17, 13,10, 4 days. And accepted from the same as the one month, and 10-13 days ago. That's one EPS, two AI illustrations. Not reviewed, one photo, one EPS, one AI illustration from a sample (with release), one 100% AI image.

Not any big complaint or anything, just pointing out that I have things of my own, uploaded and accepted, while others, of my own, are sitting longer, not reviewed. I can't come up with any order or conclusions from that.

You almost have to wonder if they seriously cut back on their stock marketing ads and such.

I don't see the side spam as often as I used to, but that's just me. Maybe they have changed to new sites. When they had that, it was always humorous because one or two of my own images would always show up, on top. I don't know if that was an error or so we'd get excited that SS was actually promoting our work. It was just reading cookies from our own systems, and not what the rest of the world would see.

I did notice that recently, when I look at an image, I get an email saying "did you forget something". They are reminding people who search, that they looked at something.

Is it me or DM doesn't display right, Todayis20 shows no thumbs, the Dec. file reports as October? Did Getty adjust the access again?
Yeah, they changed it, again.
Apparently they have advised TodayIs20, and we're just waiting for them to have the time to make the necessary adjustments on their site.
Of course, if Getty would just give us decent stats, we wouldn't need external apps.  ::)

Yes, how is it that individuals can write software to handle stats and our data, and the big multi-million dollar corporations, can't give us useful earnings stats. Adobe is another one, where we can't get image historic earnings, except from an outside creative, or by downloading and making our own database?

But IS is the worst and holds the record for that dishonor.

I'm sharing the screen shot of my page right now. None of my accepted files appearing on my profile page. Maybe they just hate me  :D

Did you look at Illustrations? Site says 11,495 images. Did you compare that number to what it was before the last upload?

If buyers can see them, it doesn't matter what shows on your profile. I see 13 latest close ups of a leather surface. Search for a recent upload, that's accepted and not on your profile page. Is it for sale?

Since you quote? Try Romans 8:25?

My accepted pics take days to show up in my port, it's been this way for quite a while. Sometimes their upload is kind of wonky too

I don't know how long, but I noticed that my recent accepted illustrations show up under illustrations and not "photos".

Once again, as long as they show up for people to buy, I don't care much about if I can see the private information. If I thought I had people looking at my portfolio link by name (because I'm so wonderful and special) maybe I'd be concerned.

Thanks for mentioning that, I'll look again in a few days. But nothing urgent or important.

Ji,
I can not see Pond 5 only message ,,403 ERROR
The request could not be satisfied.,, It was just me? I am using Firefox

Couldn't access Wirestock because of an expired certificate. I wrote and they said "Change your browser".  :(

Thanks for this. IMO, this should be reported to adobe.

Look at this: https://stock.adobe.com/images/a-heart-shaped-red-and-pink-macaroni-and-cheese-macaroni-and-cheese-macaroni-and-cheese-macaroni-and-cheese-macaroni-and-cheese-macaroni-and-cheese-macaroni-and-cheese-macaroni-and-cheese/706555302

The title is "a heart shaped red and pink macaroni and cheese macaroni and cheese macaroni and cheese macaroni and cheese macaroni and cheese macaroni and cheese macaroni and cheese macaroni and cheese"

I think we can all agree this is not human-generated :)

And not Mac and cheese it's supposed to be a macaroon.  ;D

General Stock Discussion / Re: This month's sales
« on: January 18, 2024, 12:03 »
My SS downloads are going greater and greater, strange thing is in the last year i see more and more SO sales and almost dissapeared the On Demand ones.

Today sales:

This can also be read from many other contributors. It's the same for me. There are now also more SODs than subscriptions. But they are often SODs for minimal amounts - many for $0.10. I preferred the old days when there were few SODs, but they usually brought a lot of money.

Monday 12 SOs, all of then 10 each for a whole, whopping, $1.20  :(

Print on Demand Forum / Re: Amazon - any sales there?
« on: January 17, 2024, 15:37 »
I'll cut down on the length a little and all the quotes. Shutterstock on FAA.

I think I'm wrong and the search didn't bring up a SS account, but just images that have the word Shutterstock in the keywords or title.

I noticed a lot of products on Amazon without Best Sellers Rank. I know that BSR based on sales. No sales, no sales rank. Therefore I have a question. Does it make sense to sell on Amazon?

Back to the OP, I don't understand the question. Is Grom asking if anyone here sells on Amazon?

223
If you different portfolios how you can even compare them, I have exactly the same portfolios on AS and SS, for me SS is 3x the number of downloads of AS.

Do you make 3x on SS as well?

Usually more than double.

Not to disagree or be argumentative, but that also depends on what images and what kind of subjects. It's possible that your talents are more in line with what SS buyers want. Nice going.

I have 5,450 images on SS now and 984 on Adobe. I make easily 3X on AS what I do on SS. But, unlike you and many others, the images are different. Adobe doesn't take what SS does and for the most part, SS doesn't take what Adobe does. I'd be unfair to expect that someone else would have identical results as mine.

The only thing I can say, aside from bottom line, how much did I make last year, would be RPD. If that was identical, I'd be happy, but nowhere close. SS is less sales and for less commission. 3X the money for 1/5th the images, and I only joined Adobe after they bought FT. I'm impressed.  :)

You are doing very well, congratulations.

I had to do Bumble Bees for Adobe, yesterday. I usually don't get any questions or challenges, unless I login from a different device or browser. But I haven't had to identify Motorcycles, Bicycles or Bumble Bees (which are the last from other sites) in many months.

I'm surprised I don't get that more often as I have Home Internet through a wireless Gateway now and I get random locations all over the country as my IP address.

So about the beer, would they put it next to apple cider or not that evil?  ;)

Peter has clearly found his meds 😳 ... pssst Lower the dose.

Where do you start. The Bermuda triangle is a fact. The cause isn't but I subscribe to the underground or underwater mass gas releases experiments that were done which can be found on utube. The gas aerated the water and reduced its density. The only reason things float is that the specific gravity of water allows for things to float ad long as they displace more water than the object weighs. Aerated water changes the maths and boats sink through the water very very rapidly. It doesn't explain the various planes that went missing due to instrument failure specifically the compass but many things can cause a compass to fail.

The diatribe about Stanton Friedman is laughable and doesn't warrant a response frankly. Can't speak for the rest.
The crash at corona is a different crashed object recovery which has been exhaustively investigated by many but the one I'm familiar with is Scott Ramsay I think his name is.

... which brings us to the ignorance of the skeptics self proclaimed or otherwise. I did state at the beginning of the thread ... don't bother. Your ridiculous cliche of "the burden of proof falls to the ones making claims" is the usual trollop trotted out by lazy and idle people. You are the one hurling claims lol. Crack on Peter please prove your claim. You can't though can you because skeptics can never provide any meat to their bone. Its all "nonsense" they cry without any research or any proof what so ever. Lazy. And they never attempt to investigate themselves. They barely bother to research what's out there. One thing is a fact. No one employs skeptics when embarking on a venture do they. Pay them good money to work against you lol.

As for Roswell there is so much evidence, witness testimony and documents from people who were actually there at all levels of credibility it would take a lifetime to explore it all id imagine. You can thank Stanton Friedman for that because he tracked them all down and interviewed them on tape. Many of those interviews are available on utube. Of course all that research had to be done for free according to Peter. Because if you take that research and put the salient points in a book jacket and sell it, it automatically makes you a fraud. Oops. and the lectures these fraudsters attend are also scambait.

Peter is giving away his stock photos for free everyone btw. Just dm him that's right isn't it Peter lol.

It is certainly an interesting event. Dont take it from me though take it from someone who fought for their country for small pay. An actual hero who recieved the bronze star. Who supported the atom bomb tests at bikini atol. Put in charge as the intelligence officer at Roswell Air base and became group inteligence officef. A base who's purpose was to be the tip of the spear for nuclear monitoring against Russian radiological weapons testing amongst other things. Who went on to be promoted to Lt Col. Not bad for a fraud.

Or if you don't accept Jesse Snr how about Jesse Jnr or rather Dr Marcel or Flight Surgeon Marcel ... alleged quack and fraudster because he also attended lectures and also appeared on TV over the years.

Shame you ranted off Peter. Why is anyone's guess but that's you isn't it. What rank did you get to Pete ... I'm curious...
