Shutterstock.com / Re: June so far
« on: June 01, 2020, 09:19 »
When people switch off their ports SS seems also to completely delete assets from their portfolio manager. I switched off my video port and noticed through the day (yesterday) items being deleted from my video portfolio...until zero left in my video portfolio

From now, on my social media channels, I will be referring to SS as the Pavlovsky agency aka Shutterstock I hope others will join me.

Too bad I do not quality, Im ranked only number 6500th by Adobe Stock  :-[

My video sales this year on Pond5 platform are 3x higher than on SS. Therefore, deleting all my videos from SS and moving to Pond5 Exclusive instead of accepting reduced pay rate of 15% makes sense to me.

On the other hand, my photo contributor level currently is 4 with pay rate of 30% and potentially 35% by the end of the year, therefore I will keep my portfolio active  :-\

As a video contributor forced to accept Pay rate 1 this makes my decision to delete all my videos from SS and move to Pond5 Exclusive very simple.

Look at there share price it going up today:

Why not clicking there Adwords/Advertising at Google away?
yes lets hurt them by clicking 1 cent at a time

it is more than 1 cent and we can make them invisible at Google.
What will you do?
i dont know but i am not going to sit here for hours clicking their fuсking google ads link fuсk sake

hours? ;D If everyone of us will do this 2 times a day it will hurt them...  :-*

The company is worth almost $1.5b. You have no idea how little impact you'd have on them. By the time you'd found and clicked an advert they'd have probably made $5-10k in sales.

Just to go into more detail. If it was possible that you could click one of their ads once per second and it cost them exactly $1 per click, doing this 24/7 - 365, it would take 31 years to reach a $1b in clicks.

it only works if many contributor will do...

But maybe we better should do nothing ... ;D

Probably the better option is to buy many shares of STK, join other shareholder activists, and force all current management out. We would need like 15% voting shares to have any impact on the management.

No plans at the moment, sorry.

Is that because Apple is more strict on privacy controls?

Adobe Stock / Re: How is your December

Trend is similar - a significant drop in buying activity in the second half, but, overall, for me Dec 2019 is BME

37
IMHO its bad idea. Did you notice that BTC and ETH dropped significantly in their value over last 3-4 months ... and it may go down even more...

The Library of Congress has published over 11,000 high-resolution shots of U.S. roadside attractions, and released the images (to which it had purchased the rights) into the public domain...

I was wondering how many of these photos will end up uploaded to microstock agencies...

I am $1.92 $1.22 shy of my next payout - let's hope they stay in business long enough to get that over $100 :)

License your own photo, hopefully that would get you over the threshold  :D

General - Stock Video / Re: Need advice in Buying Camera....
« on: August 12, 2019, 11:48 »
I am looking to buy a professional camera.
Looking at the reviews on youtube added more confusion.

Mirrorless camera? are they worth buying or shall I opt for traditional one?

Which one should I go with in long run?

Just buy any camera body you like or can afford. I successfully used Canon, Nikon and Fuji cameras, both DSRL and mirrorless. Dont waist time overthinking about hardware just focus on getting great photos

Pond5 / Re: Why is it so painful to upload to Pond5?
« on: July 14, 2019, 14:56 »
I too routinely upload videos to Pond5, via FileZilla FTP, as many as 6-8 video files at once - never had any problems , reviewed usually within 5 business days

This is a lovely English expression describing people who are woefully incompetent (and piss-up is slang for an alcohol-fueled party). Shutterstock appears to be heading for some sort of award for being unable to do anything well any more - sales being a big issue, but knowing when "today" is on the contributor app being another. It used to be one day behind. After the last "fix" it's now two days behind. And that's better somehow??

And now we have the monthly email about my earnings being computed - unedited screen capture of the email. No name, no amount no nothing (except for links to post this nothingburger to facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.

Tossers!

At least they processed my payment on the same day, which is highly unusual...

Hello,

I found an other website : http://microstockrank.com

There is more statistics, especially on each contributor.

Another project by russian internet research agency??

The only way to force large corporations like SS to change corporate behavior is by following a standard playbook of the shareholder activism - exercising rights as partial owners.

While minority shareholders don't run day to day operations, several ways exist for them to influence a companys board of directors and executive management actions. These methods can range from dialogue with managers to formal proposals, which are voted on by all shareholders at a company's annual meeting.

49
Call your credit card company and ask them to help with your situation. They can easily process a back charge.

50
So.....what now? Abandon identifying?

SS have notified me that the crowdsourced "wackamole" model isn't according to their rules and regulations and runs the risk of identifying legitimate accounts which may be shut down mistakenly.

I am sure many news organizations will be thrilled to do more extensive research about the public traded company
