My sales at 123RF have been on the decline for a couple of years, but in the past couple months its fallen off to new lows. Over an 80% drop in December of 2017 over December of 2016.

As a test, I uploaded some exclusive files to 123RF in early December and those images are still not indexed on Google Images.

I do believe that many buyers use Google Images to search and find images. Maybe a change in Google's algorithm? Images that I uploaded to other agencies were indexed by Google within days.

My sales are about 15% of what they once were a couple years ago at BigStock.

I'm on the "Bridge to Bigstock" so all of my files from Shutterstock are automatically in the Bigstock portfolio. If that wasn't the case, I don't think I'd bother uploading.

Another BME here.  :D

See screen shot...

Just clicked onto one of my images today that was only uploaded as a vector file and see that the customer is now being given the option to download as a JPG as well.

Symbiostock / Re: Is this project dead?
« on: August 13, 2014, 12:08 »
I have been out of the loop on all of the crazy SymbioDrama since last fall. I took a new job that took most of my time over the winter and I just didn't have the time to keep up.

I have still been uploading my work here and there and continue to get regular sales.

I can't thank Leo enough for developing SymbioStock. I hope the development continues.

123RF / Re: No longer able to download our own images?

I've never done this before but I just did and it seems to work fine for me.

Thanks Jo Ann, must be an issue on my end.

I'm seeing slower sales this month, but isn't that normal for July?

I try to be careful to make sure that the agencies I contribute to do not allow logo usage. For one, it's terrible branding to base your logo on royalty free clip-art that may have been used hundreds or thousands of times by other businesses. But mostly, I feel cheated when someone pays a few bucks for my work and uses it as their logo. I'm happy to create a custom logo for a business and I do often, but I certainly get more than $.38 for that effort.

I have contacted several companies that have unlawfully used my art as their business identity. Most of the time the fault lies on the "designer" that they hired. I have even found my work on other "designer's" online portfolios.

In most cases, it's a small business and we reach some sort of an agreement or they cease to use the logo.

In your case, where the company has already fully implemented the design, it could get complicated.

You own the copyright to the work and should be compensated. It will cost them a small fortune to change the design now.

123RF / No longer able to download our own images?
« on: July 23, 2014, 10:33 »
Maybe this isn't a new thing, but I used to be able to download my own images from 123RF.

I just tried this morning and it doesn't seem to be working.

Can anyone confirm this?  :o

Adobe Stock / Increase in vector pricing
« on: January 29, 2014, 10:52 »
It appears that Fotolia has increased pricing on vector files to 6 credit, which while still too low IMO, it is nice to see a little raise!

37
After poking around it appears it is likely a BigStock partner site.

Interesting that some of my work is featured there and credited with my user name.

It appears that some of the work has come from Shutterstock/BigStock.

General Stock Discussion / Who is Art.com and AllPosters.com?

I'm assuming they are partnered with one of the stock agencies, but who?

Thanks! ;D

Hello all!

Just stumbled across a Groupon offer (expired) that sold products featuring my artwork. These files have never sold with an EL license nor do I knowingly sell these designs anywhere that allows this usage.

http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-12x12-framed-state-pride-images-on-wood

What would you do?

Thanks!

These are good sold by Groupon so you will have to take screenshots, download the web page into pdf and then contact groupon.

Do you have these images at FAA or any other website that sells art? Maybe groupon would take order from customers and once they know the number of orders they would buy from these websites and post it.

I have grabbed screenshots of everything and found the vendor that offered these through Groupon.

I do not sell via FAA, and I'm nearly certain these were all purchased via a subscription plan at ShutterStock.

I must be the only one here that is a CC subscriber, is happy with the product and doesn't mind the $50 a month cost.  :o

Dreamstime.com / Re: DT Sucks
« on: September 09, 2013, 13:07 »

My earnings have actually been fairly comparable the last few months between the two.

I think it's fair to say that is very unusual.

I started contributing to DT in December of 2010. My monthly revenue at Shutterstock exceeds my total income at DT since I began.

My RPD at DT is about $1.25.

My own (SymbioStock) site has outperformed DT over the past couple months, and my RPD there is over $7.00.

I haven't submitted to DT in months, but I'll keep my files up and take a payout every other month or so.

Software - General / Re: LR5 + PS CC for $9.99/mo

I pay $50 a month for the full CC suite and have zero complaints.

$9.99 for PS and LR is a great deal.
