Y'all. Crypto has come to digital art in the form of non-fungible tokens. To my understanding, it's a way to instantiate your art so that there is a traceable, trackable original that can be sold as an original. It doesn't prevent copies, but in-demand artists are already profiting. It's not limited to art but I wanted to hear you guys thoughts. Could it address any of the problems with selling stock? Is it a flash in the pan? Watch the brief video and share your thoughts https://youtu.be/rztmblQAmjI

Does anyone know which file format allows users to edit the colors of illustrations? I've noticed that for my own personal use of Canva, when I upload an SVG with a limited color palette this is possible, but as far as I know contributor uploads are limited to eps and jpg. Does it depend on the file format or the number of colors present in the illustration?

Anyone here who is a current contributor having this issue? Apparently it's affected a lot of contributors and they have no idea when the issue will be resolved.

My feed is full of illustrators in other industries, but I'd like to follow more microstock illustrators on Instagram. Right now the microstock hashtag is just photography and videos.
I'm @pursuitofnatural on Instagram.

Any thoughts on the new email update? It covered the backlog in reviews, their proprietary web uploader, metadata uploader, and a possible upload status checker.
I'm not sure that an upload status checker will help. I only want to know whether something is approved or rejected. The stages in between while in review don't mean much beyond the psychological. If the status checker can provide a reason for rejection (highly unlikely), that would make it more useful, imo.
Last I checked, they were 6 months behind on reviews. The explanation for the delay was very vague, but it seems they believe reviewing metadata is a bottleneck separate from reviewing the actual images. If so, their plan to make approved images live before reviewing metadata should help. But what happens if they reject your metadata after approving the image? Will the image come down? How will you know what terms to remove or change?
I've never used their uploader so I have no opinion on that.

Hi, fellow illustrators in microstock. Let's have an ongoing chat. Tell us about your style. Your favorite subject to illustrate? What are you working on now? I work on paper and digital. I sell vector illustrations with minimal lines and highlighting, heavier on cel shading, lean towards realism. I also aspire to have a giant port of glitterized illustrations because glitter is fun. My favorite subject is figure drawing. I'm currently illustrating a set of figures getting vaccinated--nurse, doctor, patients. Who's next? And feel free to leave a general question for everyone to discuss.

Their statement period is from July to June. That doesn't cover the calendar year from which the IRS needs information. I'm just going to go by what is on the account payment details and select everything from the past calendar year, but I was curious how everyone else in the US handles this mismatched period.

Do you see any commercial value in this illustration? Why or why not? I feel like people illustrations do best when they look like all the others out there. Is there any benefit to developing a different style? http://imgur.com/QjjKF51

Does it ever make sense to include text in your illustration? What is the general reception of illustrations with text?
I understand if you want to include text you have to make an outline of it or expand it, but I'm trying to decide whether to include it or not. I'm making a set of dad badges with title banners. The icons inside the badges illustrate the trait but I'm unsure whether titles are necessary.

Canva has 3 options for how you can upload your work--WeTransfer, FTP, and a shared folder on a cloud drive service. Which one do you use? Have you tried using them all? Is there an appreciable difference between them in regards to response and ease of use?
I liked getting a receipt from WeTransfer when the file had been downloaded, but I currently use a cloud service because it's more organized. However, I might go back to WeTransfer so I can get some kind of an update as to the status of my uploads.

How far in advance do you start submitting new seasonal art? E.g. is it already too late if I want some pieces up by Halloween? Given the delay for review (it's been over 6 weeks), how do you approach working on your seasonal releases?

Hi. I wonder if anyone has any anecdotal info on how well the multi-use license does in sales versus the one-time license? No need for numbers if you don't want to share. I just wondered how it compares. In other words, which price point the buyers find more appealing in your observation.
