Yes - no more pennies. Merchants round cash payments up or down to the nearest nickel. Pennies are still used in electronic transactions like debit or credit sales.

Not everything on the list is an agency.

I'm running Lightroom 4 on a 24 inch iMac (3.06 GHz/4GB memory/1TB internal HD+1TB external USB HD) I bought new in May, 2009. I have no issues with it.
Maybe you could find something like that on the used market at a fair price. I use the external hard drive to backup raw photos and my LR catalog.
Make sure you save your LR catalog on the internal HD and put a backup copy of it on the external drive as well - you set that up when you Quit LR.

I second what Steve said.
Plus - it's been quite a few years but if my foggy memory serves - Adobe bought out Rawshooter then used it as the basis for parts of Lightroom 1.

iStock buyers do not purchase photo licenses with dollars. They purchase them with 'Credits'.
iStock trained their contributors that 1 credit = 1 dollar. Nothing could be further from the truth. But that is the pricing model everyone seems to be using in this thread.
For years, iStock has sold credits at discounted prices to buyers. Everybody should know this already. This is why you sometimes make more on a small sale than on a medium sale. This is also why you sometimes see royalty amounts less than 10 - I've had some of those. The buyers paid vastly different prices for their credits. I just looked at my last two large sales. The royalties were $2.88 and $2.50 respectively at 15% royalty rate. The buyers paid 10 credits for each image which means (2.88.1510=) $1.92 and (2.50.1510=) $1.6667 per credit respectively. I'm sure most of you understand the arithmetic but I included it in case any readers might not. The lowest royalty I've seen was 7 meaning the buyer purchased the credit for only 47.
With that in mind, Lobo can say with a straight face that "The price points will not be lower than what is available via iStock". That's because there is no change to the number of credits buyers will pay.
But then he adds "I can't comment on the entire pricing piece at this time". Might this mean that it is the credit pricing that iStock is diddling with? It would make sense that Getty 360 is primarily a special deal for selected buyers to purchase cheaper credits - maybe another attempt to retain those buyers in the Getty family. This is all speculation on my part but that seems to have been the intention behind the no opt-out for the PP program.

What size prints do you need to make?

What? No Holga? I started shooting with a Holga in order to capture Vetta images in camera without all that time consuming post processing.

If someone compliments one of my photos, I say, "thank you."
+1 If they ask any questions about it, I'll answer them. But I don't go overboard with explanations. Why spoil the magic?

My grade 1 teacher suggested I take up photography when she discovered my innate inability to color inside the lines And here I thought it was all photographing beautiful models at the beach while sipping margaritas
That too

In Canada, most provinces had some sort of February long weekend this past Monday. In Ontario, it was Family Day, for example.

An interesting set of questions you might consider for next year are:
1. Which agencies did you contribute to the entire year? 2. Which agencies did you drop during the year? 3. Which agencies did you add during the year?

157 exclusives for photos, how can it be that only 87 said iStock had their highest RPI, the other had better in Alamy or Getty or other?
Exclusives are not shown the question of what agency is your best earner or highest RPI.. because we know the answer is iStock. If you were only submitting to Viscoimages they would be your highest RPI.. which is useless data to collect.
There are some independents who only contribute to one agency. It might be better to restrict the question to those who contribute to multiple agencies rather than just ignoring IS exclusives. As you said the data would be useless if the contributor has nothing to compare. The question also assumes the portfolio sizes are about the same on each of the sites compared.

I banned myself from the iStock forums. Does that count? I decided not to wait for Lobo's hammer. I wrote a long and detailed response to lowering independent royalty rates and when I reread it before posting I knew I was about to get banned so I used my DELETE key instead. At least I've kept my privileges even if I've chosen not to use them for the time being.

A question for all the FAA experts out there! I noticed this morning that all my images had $0 as the price for both prints and cards. They were all set at normal prices last night.
Is it just my account or is everyone seeing this issue?
steve Forget this - it seems to be back to normal. Must have had a technical glitch!
Steve
From what I read in the FAA forum, prices show differently depending on whether or not you are logged in. If you are NOT logged in, the price shows what a buyer would pay. If you ARE logged in, the price shows what you would pay to purchase your own product.

Thanks Luis. But selecting that link takes me to their home page, not the page you linked. It looks like I actually need to join to get the question answered.

I spent some time looking over the FAA site and reading this thread because I have some photos that might sell very well as fine art. But I had one question I can't seem to find a direct answer for. If you upload a picture, you set the price at the same time. What happens if you decide later you want to change the price, either higher or lower? Can you change prices later? How?
The answer will probably be obvious if I join and upload an image but I haven't done that yet.

I think the better approach is to provide a counter and let the contributor choose which keywords to delete.

I don't have a huge portfolio of animal images but I would certainly look seriously contributing. I also have some friends who specialize in wildlife but are not with any microstock agency. Keep me informed.

You might want to check the upload dates for the two files. It would be interesting to see if they 'sold' the files before you uploaded them.

I'm not exclusive. I put my best sellers in P+ and they have continued being my best sellers. I don't think the increased price is an issue with buyers - they're the same price or less than an exclusive file the same size.
Because of the six month lock-in I keep a few P+ slots available to use when a new good seller comes along.

It takes awhile to get used to it. I've been using the AF-ON button on my 5D2 for focussing for a year now. You can focus once, then recompose then make several shots of exactly the same scene using different shutter speeds or apertures for example.
You do NOT have to put your camera in Continuous AF mode for this to work. I keep mine in Single Shot mode. That part of the video is somewhat confusing since they are merely explaining the advantage of combining both features.
Your camera will remember this feature is activated even after you turn it off and on so you might want to add the menu item to your own custom menu so you can switch it without having to search through menus.
Also, if you let a friend use your camera, this will drive them batty.

Also the yellow bits on the soles of the shoes identify them as Vibram brand. And that spot of red on the back of the batting glove probably identifies it too.

Setting up your own site in order to give something away seems like a lot of work for no pay.
