Your lifetime earning center page in big bold and your current monthly unpaid earnings top right in small font. this wasn't a mistake.

123RF / Re: If you have work on 123RF PLEASE READ
« on: November 11, 2022, 14:02 »
Anyone know how long the review turnaround is these days at 123RF? I uploaded over 2 weeks ago and still nothing.

Usually they need months! But in the Last weeks they were very quick. A few days.

Thanks, the last batch i sent came back a few days later with a generic description/keyword error, so then I reuploaded it and changed the description on each and now its been pending for 2 weeks.

123RF support doesn't get back to me either.

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS continues to deteriorate
« on: October 30, 2022, 18:00 »
Pre 2020, SS video sales used to be a year on year great earner, but I suspect that like many other contributors I have been hit with a triple whammy of reduced revenue via the (1.) level based royalty model (2.) reduced overall number of sales per month (3.) subscription model. All combined has resulted in roughly a month on month loss of over 75% in revenue.

« on: August 24, 2022, 17:32 »
It's been a very long time since I accessed the ESP contributor site and seems as if it's still very contributor unfriendly.

Could anyone please tell me how to find my portfolio on ESP?

Thanks.

Same here, it is one of my worst months since I joined P5 many years ago, and the fact that the world economy seems to be going down the toilet I suppose isn't helping.

Adobe Stock / Re: Diable Adobe Stock Videos
« on: April 20, 2022, 17:48 »
We do not offer this option at Adobe Stock. To take your video files offline, you will need to delete them one at a time. The only option to disable in one fell swoop would be to request your entire account be deleted via the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock contributor portal.

Hi Matt, do you know how long it takes for the photos or videos to be removed from search ie no longer for sale after deletion?

34
This question is for video but I guess it could apply to photos as well.

I am considering going exclusive, how long should you wait in order to make content exclusive after deleting the same content on another agency. Should I contact each agency for clarification or is there a general waiting period in order for the content to be removed from each site and their servers?

Thanks.

Bad across the board for all agencies, haven't seen such bad performance for many years.

They're having another town hall meeting on October 8th, might be a good time to see if they can address our concerns.

37
If you choose to incorporate these types of computer generated faces into stock media will you need a completely different type of model release from the agency where only the contributor signs and declares that it computer generated etc?

Another terrible month for me, although strangely enough my best sellers are still on the 1st page of results and also near the top. But all of mine and other contributors videos are below the person who sells their HD videos of a similar quality for $25, and there is me who had to increase my price in order to compensate for the drop in commission.

IMO there should be a minimum cap for HD video from $40 - $50 , that way pricing is more equal and more revenue for P5 which is what they seem to be focusing on these days.

General Stock Discussion / Usage of 3rd party fonts in videos
« on: September 18, 2019, 11:37 »
Hi, does anyone know about the usage of 3rd party fonts within videos or any other stock media? If possible I would like to use a 3rd party font which is free for commercial use and has an Open Font License. Or can only standard fonts such as Arial be used for such purposes, i'm pretty sure the creator of the font has no objections however seeing as agencies say that all work must be created by the uploader, this has made want some clarification.

Thanks.

I only work with full HD. Within Media Encoder both target and max sliders only go up to 50 Mb/s so I guess i'll have to play around with both codecs to see what works best.

Thanks.

41
I used to use Photojpeg codec in a .mov quicktime container and set quality slider to around 90% but it appears to have been discontinued, so I am needing a new workflow for exporting videos out of after effects for uploading.

I'm assuming for CGI that H264 is the next best alternative, so within media encoder which bitrate is preferable in order to keep the quality high enough for acceptance and also which should used VBR or CBR considering that the source footage is a rendered image sequence, also in Media Encoder the sliders go up to 50, is this overkill?

Are there any other settings in Media Encoder which should adjusted to maximize quality?

Thanks.

Pond5 / Re: Pond5 video sales since royalty cut
« on: May 16, 2019, 10:31 »
Pretty much normal. This month looks like it could be the best of the year... they always do though. Give it a couple of weeks!

I'm curious as to know if your volume was pretty much the same as previous months and did you go exclusive with some videos?

Thanks.

Pond5 / Pond5 video sales since royalty cut
« on: May 15, 2019, 17:37 »
It's been a full month of since the royalties were reduced and I'm curious as to how were your sales including exclusive sales, assuming you opted to create a new account and make some of your content exclusive.

For me it was one of my worst months at P5 for over a year and a half, very disappointing.

How have your sales been?

Pond5 / Re: Non exclusive will be cut to 40% on pond5
« on: April 13, 2019, 20:35 »
I've got to admit this knocked the wind out of me, even though I was mentally prepared for this day since the announcement I still get a nauseating feeling every time I think about it partly because they have always been a fair commission stock media site for nearly a decade.

And over the years they have steadily grown their business, expanded, entered new markets, released new product lines (images, AE templates etc), continually updated their website and all this while maintaining a 50% commission, so what gives? New blood in the ranks looking for world domination?

Not sure if I will compensate by raising prices which obviously needs no mention that P5 has already thought that one though and expects to gain (except our customers of course).

All the aboard the race to the bottom train, next stop 35%.

Pond5 / Re: Letter to pond5 and quick Poll for contributors
« on: March 21, 2019, 20:28 »
Such a disappointment, this year I was planning to increase my prices slightly but now even If i did I would still receive less commission after this cut.

When they implement decisions like these it's highly likely that this was on the cards for a long time and that there were probably elements within the P5 management structure championing for the cut to be 35%, similarly others with a more conservative approach wanting 45%

And so naturally the end number was to go with 40% and monitor contributor reaction like a hawk right from the get go, and you can bet your bottom dollar that right now they are listening because they haven't made such a drastic change to contributor policy in over a decade.

So guys and girls, now's the time or it's all down hill from here.

Are there any traditional stock agencies that pay in cryptocurrency? I'd be happier to experiment receiving some earnings in a small cap cryptocurrency than deal with paypal.

47
Ignore it, it's just their marketing department trying to justify it's existence, by creating these useless surveys which they then cherry pick the results in order to show to upper management so that they can create an action plan on how to slightly improve something which has no effect on contributors.

Thing is they know exactly what contributors want which is why these surveys are just a total waste of time.

Thanks for that SpaceStockFootage, VB clearly better than istock.

General - Stock Video / Re: videoblocks or istockvideo best earner?
« on: September 25, 2017, 18:35 »
I know everyone has beef with istock and I do too and for good reason however I'll be honest and say that it's actually a bit difficult, terminating my account there feels like breaking up with a girlfriend in a long term relationship that's been going sour for quite some time, you know you should break it off but you have so much history together something is stopping you from doing it when you should have left a long time ago.

In terms of pure earnings videoblocks can at least match istock? are the sales constant or do they vary month on month? I ask this again as I was reading an old thread here about videoblocks and there were quite a few mixed opinions.

If in the future things were to improve over at istock can you reapply after previously terminating an account? if so how long is the cool off period?

Thanks
