DepositPhotos / giving DP a go....
« on: June 29, 2010, 08:59 »
I said I wouldn't do it after Albumo but here I go again. I had 4 shots on there for a few months and got one sale so I decided to put my culled version of the port there and see how it goes. One of the things that helped me decide was seeing some of the major players on there already which suggest they've done some research and feel positive about DP's chances. Now I got 1730 images there and will see how it goes or it will be a waste of time like Albumo, Lucky Oliver and Veer....

Cutcaster / Just a suggestion.... re front page
« on: March 11, 2009, 19:31 »
Heya John

No offense but the image on the front page of a young ballerina girl doing a mid air split over a meadow field looks off and could put off potential buyers imo. The colors and white balance look fake and the whole thing just doesn't look very appealing. FYI I don't usually post this type of comments :)

Cutcaster / Viewing by Downloads not showing ?
« on: March 05, 2009, 18:58 »
Heya, I'm curious as on the site when I orgonise by downloads and in descending order, my sales don't show up (all images come up with 0 downloads), only when I look into transactions I can see the image that had a sale, any reason for this?

Over the past few weeks I've had my first exclusive sale at DT, very happy with that and with the $550 that brought me :)

I'm curious where everyone is with the new Earnings Schedule in relations to their live long earnings and new payments restructure.

SnapVillage.com / Going nicely :)
« on: May 20, 2008, 02:13 »
Just had 3 sales in one day and have already added it to my top six as the 7th site for which I'm tracking sales and downloads stats wise on monthly basis. Bigstock, Crestock and Albumo are all yet to get that promotion. For the record I have no issue at all with the upload process who needs ftp :)

I've had around 60 of my early images with them for over ten months and seem to have a sale here and there trickling in so I figured I might as well upload my ms folio of 1000+ images that I have on other sites. I'm not thrilled with their interface from the submitters point of view and their 10 word descriptions and categories annoy me, which is why I took so long. Anyway might as well do this while I have stuff pending and waiting to upload more images due to quota restrictions on IS, StockXpert and DT. I just hope that it's worth it :)

General Stock Discussion / Your worst sales month
« on: February 15, 2008, 18:49 »
I'm curious how this pans out for everyone else. I've only been seriously contributing to microstock for just over seven months and thus far my worse has been December.

Seeing as I'm in Australia and we are still in Winter here, I was wondering when the Summer holidays will end in the US ?

Bit annoyed with the slow review times and slower sales..

StockXpert.com / Stockexpert - game on!
« on: August 19, 2007, 07:43 »

About three months after I got accepted into the major microstock sites on my first attempt, such as iStock, Shutterstock and Dreamstime I finally after a third attempt managed to get into StockExpert.

The reason that I persevered was that many people seemed to rank StockExpert in their top three earning sites, so I figured it had to be worth it to keep on trying.

Thus far it seems reasonable enough, 37 accepted out of 50 from the first batch with a few more hundred to upload. Now I guess time will only tell if it was worth all the effort :)

Adobe Stock / Strange happenings at Fotolia
« on: August 13, 2007, 18:07 »
I noticed something very strange at Fotolia that when I uploaded and got approved around 300 new images there, my sales just stopped dead in their tracks. This happened around 8th of August before which I was getting daily downloads. It makes me wonder if there is some correlation between how their system indexes and processes new images and the existing ones and I do know that their search system is still a mess as I can't bring up any of my new or old images using keywords that aren't the first seven.

I've noticed when I changed the order of some keywords on several images (this was over three weeks ago), none of the top seven keywords works neither. So it seems that at the moment in Fotolio if you want for the clients to find your images, use only seven keywords and choose these carefully as changing the order once the images are in, won't make the slightest bit of difference.

All very frustrating.............. :(
