Microstock is a strange game... while its true that my sales have also dipped a fair bit thus far this month at iStock and Dreamstime, they are really taking off at ShutterStock with the past seven days being my best week ever and 123rf and StockExpert also doing ok thus far. So I guess it all really depends on what you're selling and at what time and quantity...

My goals for 2008 would be:
1 - Shot better and more commercially viable images
2 - Reach 1k per month income
3 - Build folio of images up to 3000

I really like their sets system for both adding and viewing, wish others had something similar

Cheers, will keep it in mind, just had some marks appear on my 40D sensor that I was about to swab away.

Not a bad month, best I've had so far this year anyway but still -29% off October 2007. SS picked up a lot and an EL on Fotolia made their figures better, onto May 08 we go....

My sales are growing there unlike at other sites that I wish I never wasted my time on so I'm not complaining...

Ahh give them a break guys, they have a target niche market they aim for and at least they aren't trying to make SV a carbon copy of all other new MS sites out there. I personally don't mind their interface now that I'm more used to it. Clearly it was designed with making the process as simple as possible for the buyers without all the myriad of complicated options that we have on other sites, without making it silly like Lucky Oliver did. Also as far as their upload process I also don't mind, would be good to make it say up to 10 images at a time and for it not to time out but otherwise with their useful set groupings I find uploading there a whole lot easier then iStock. Also my sales are picking up there and I can see them pushing out StockXpert out of my personal big6, over the new few months or so.... Also no I don't work or ever intend to work for them, just an impartial view I prefer to reserve my wrath for sites like Albumo and LO that promised and never delivered...

Give 123RF a go, for me they are much better then Bigstock and their uploads and site is quite easy and stress free to use

I did all mine $5 across the board but plan in playing a bit with increasing prices on some images depending on and if the sales pick up...

For me StockXpert, hands down, wins the most anal reviewers award

They have apparently been swamped with images in the past few weeks. This has most likely something to do with their new magazine adds and a heap of new photographers taking note and signing up around the same time. On a positive note I've just had my 100 images approved in the space of last 12 hours after being in the que for 2 weeks.

For me StockXpert was the hardest to get into, taking me around four months while I got into SS on the first go. Not sure if StockXpert is really worth the effort either in term of sales compared to sites like SS, IS, DT, 123RF and even Fotolia...

LOL yeah, everyone but DT seems slow atm

I've had around 60 of my early images with them for over ten months and seem to have a sale here and there trickling in so I figured I might as well upload my ms folio of 1000+ images that I have on other sites. I'm not thrilled with their interface from the submitters point of view and their 10 word descriptions and categories annoy me, which is why I took so long. Anyway might as well do this while I have stuff pending and waiting to upload more images due to quota restrictions on IS, StockXpert and DT. I just hope that it's worth it

They work really well for me, being a close 4th behind DT with FT at 5 and SX at 6.

It took me over three months to get into IS and I nearly gave up. Glad I didn't as when I look at it now in terms of my total income, IS total is still more over the space of past seven months then DT, FT, SX and 123 combined! This is also with 1/5 images that I have on other sites, making it my best overall ROI site. Mind you I do believe that DT has the potential and will get there eventually....
