I think I agree with you on the arrow part.  As for the Texas Instruments, I have taken that out of the file I would be sending.  I think one may have a bit too much blurriness, but the comments are great - I appreciate it.

An update with Bigstock....

I had 20 out of 20 pictures rejected.  Why?  Because that cactus is growing.  One 1 of those 20 pictures was rejected elsewhere.  So I think they are just being incredibly dumb about it and if this keeps up I don't think it worth sending them pictures.  I can't make sales if they don't accept my photos, which are fine for everyone else.

I just got Noise Ninja Pro and it seems to be amazing and easy to work.  I reduced the noise on all my pics with ease.  Very happy about that.

Would it be alright if I posted my top 10 that I'm going to submit to Shutterstock and whoever is interested could give me an opinion on whether they think it will be accepted?

As well, do you apply ninja to every picture to be safe?

Probably the wrong thread, but how's Shutterstock on rejections?

There's a huge cactus at Big Stock.  They have no consistency and its turning into a farce.  Its unfortunate because i will probably stop submitting to them.  Not only do they not get consistent downloads, the general overall running of the site is bad.

In terms of structure, the photographers get the most from the sites that offer packages for pictures, which is why Shutterstock is the best of the best for downloads.  I'm just hoping Fotolia picks up a bit because they like my pictures and they accept them (i have 24 pictures on there, only 5 were rejected) so thats a pretty good rate of acceptance.

Anyone think that Fotolia will pick up?

And I'm also hoping to get into Shutterstock soon.  I hope.  lol

I applied to iStock 2 days ago, still no word so it probably takes a while.

Bigstock has took a tumble for the worse.  All my photos - most of which the same type were accepted before - have been rejected.  By being accepted before I mean my last upload.  What has changed?  I don't know.  And their excuse for everything is blurriness - Which my photos are not because if they were acceptable before and they were shot with the same camera I don't see how they suddenly became blurry.

Bigstock is weird.  I got the same low interest/we have enough for a picture of a rabbit in the mist in the morning.  I was shocked with that because no one else has rejected that one.  I personally thought that it would be useable, but the funniest thing is that they never answer my e-mails asking why its taking forever to look at my stuff.

Thanks for the kind words of the piano picture.  Its really a great musical instrument (its 106 years old) and I love to play it.

I think I might purchase Noise Ninja too.

The TIFF question is because I've heard that its always best to modify photos in TIFF or PSD or something like that.   As well, if I ever decide to go to Alamy I would like to know how to best get my photos up to 48 MB.

I agree with the focus of the head of the parrot.  I am going to try to get that focus better with the Rebel XT and see where it takes me.

As well, any tips would be greatly appreciated in terms of using Photoshop and such.

In other news, I had a photo of a ladybug rejected by Dreamstime today because of noise.  Any good tips on reducing noise (from blur filter or the noise reduction tool) - I have Photoshop CS2 that I'm currently working with

Hey everyone,

I am putting up 2 shots..they have been reduced in quality and size so please don't take that into consideration...I just want to know what you guys think of my ideas so far - as well, if I were to save a RAW file - at 6.8 MB files that the DIgRebXT outputs, how much would that be in TIFF usually

Has anyone had any experiences with Myloupe?  Can anyone say anything about it?  I'm not sure what to think of this site.

Why is bigstock so slooooooow?  I've had files in queue for 20 days now and its not getting any quicker.  Despite the fact I've made 1 sale on 8 pictures, I would really like to have them speed up or at least tell me how long its going to take.  This is pretty bad.   :-[

Hey everyone....

I thought you guys would like to know that I got my first sale today.  It was of a picture of a scarlet Ibis on Bigstock and I am excited.

I'd just like to thank everyone who's been patient with my questions and partial ignorance.

I really enjoy this group, so thanks to everyone who's contributing to the threads.

Sounds like a plan...I will either put up a webpage for you guys to see or I can crop at 100 percent and let you guys have a view at it.  I will build up the portfolio as much as possible and hopefully everything works out well.  I am up and running at Dreamstime but have gotten 3 rejections mainly because I had put in scans and not digital photos, but I have one in queue and I want to see how that goes.

I have quite a few photos already and I'm just going about processing them to make them more acceptable.  So I guess in due time.  I'm hoping to have 100 by the end of next week.

As well, I want to try Shutterstock and Istock, although I haven't heard many good things lately anyways about iStock.

Any suggestions of what to photograph that usually sells well?

Should I be worried that I haven't gotten any downloads so far?

I have about 15 pictures and 30 in queue on Bigstock, 10 on Fotolia and I'm slowly building up.  I'm not sure if its time to become worried or how much I have to wait for?  As well, I want to apply to Shutterstock now that my collection is large enough (and I don't want to be banned for 3 months), so any suggestions?

Thanks

Leaf, I"m in the Toronto area.  I've never really left this area so its all I really know in terms of lifestyle.  I've seen the Eastern Canada and I might make a go for the western side soon.  Probably for the 2010 Olympics.

In response to the link, it seems like shutterstock takes the cake but I'm just looking more towards dollar figures.  Mainly because I'd like to have something to aim for as well as an idea of how much these sites make.

In that case, in a somewhat less personal and more general question, what do top earners make?

I thought I should say before other people post that I'm sorry if this post offends anyone in any way.  Its not my intention.

CJ, do you regularly see large download numbers?

Just wondering how much all-time people have made from this.  By that I mean every single microstock agency/macrostock agency online that people have submitted pictures to.

Hey everyone.

I only have 12 photos on Big stock right now with 17 pending.  I was wondering how much people are making on the site and how many photos they have uploaded to this "BIG FIVE" site.

As well, does anyone have any tips.  I just bought a Digital Rebel XT and I would like to get some sales to make back some of that money.   ;D
