Hi All,

I am having trouble using webdav with Clustershot.  I though it might have been my firewall or virus scan... but after turning those off temporarily, I am still getting the same problem.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, btw.

Anywho... here is what I am getting:

A dialogue box labeled "Copy File" comes up... and it says:

"An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem."

"Error: 0x80070057: The Parmeter is incorrect."  ???

In this dialogue box it shows the thumbnail of the .jpg I am trying to send to clustershot.com that is not going through.

Anyone got any ideas as to how to fix this issue?  I would love to send a lot of files to them especially overnight if I could.

BTW... could it be my ISP?  I am using AT&T DSL.  I also emailed clustershot about the problem... maybe they can figure it out if is their problem or mine.

Hey Y'all,

Are there any other microstock sites like MostPhotos out there that do not review/reject the images you submit?

Just wondering....

Veer / Venting About Veer/Sales Explosion At Snap Village
« on: May 24, 2009, 09:29 »
Hi Everyone,

I don't know what is going on at Snap Village but in the past few days, I have had 10 sales...

While I am very happy about that...I am totally confused by Veer rejecting my entire Snap Village portfolio!!!  what????   >:(

If one is making sales over at Snap Village... then why turn them down over at the new site?  At the very least... they should transfer over the images that are selling.

That just doesn't make sense to me.

Veer / Atilla Lives at SV
« on: May 07, 2009, 09:30 »
Hi Guys,

I think Atilla is definitely alive at SV.

Recently, I sent in some CDs of images and saw on the website that the SV had uploaded them into the pending area.  Anyway... over the next several days about 80% were accepted.

Then on Monday... 99.3% of what still remained in the pending view got rejected -- and most of the rejections that occurred on that day were due to "mulitple technical issues" .   :o :o ???

Anyway... what's puzzling is that the rejections that were performed several days earlier, were over other things.  So yeah... I think somebody just batch rejected stuff without really looking at each photo on an individual basis.

Or... somebody was ordered to get the pending queue all cleared out and they just started rejecting everything en masse.

Atilla Lives!!!!

General Stock Discussion / Re: IrfanView Help Please
« on: April 30, 2009, 20:29 »
Hi madelaide,

Hmmm... that's interesting because I populated the Headline section in IrfanView but none of the sites read it as a title.

Only the keywords were read correctly.

Is Exifer a free program?

General Stock Discussion / IrfanView Help Please
« on: April 30, 2009, 19:50 »
Hi Everyone,

Two days ago, I downloaded IrfanView which allows you to apply IPTC data to multiple files at the click of a button.

Yesterday I was playing with this program and uploading a single test image to BS, ScanStock, CS, FP and others to see if their websites will capture the IPTC info.

Anyway these websites manage to pull the keywords I created but not anything else.

So.. I got a question:

For those of you who use IrfanView and are familiar with it, which section of Irfanview's IPTC info do you put in the image tile information???

In the IPTC info dialogue box, IrfanView has multiple tabs... "Caption", "Keywords", "Categories", "Credits" and "Origin" .  Each of these tabs has multiple fields that you can populate with IPTC information.

Which tab and field do I use for Image Title??  If any of you can provide me with help on this matter, I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Mantonino,

Yeah I know SV is becoming Veer...

But anyways... I am just sooo angry right now because the CDs were mailed out before they made the announcement.  It makes me mad that they didn't even update their website to mention that they would no longer be taking CD submissions.  Even today it says they are accepting CD submissions.

Aaaaaaargh!!!

And the other thing that makes me angry is according to Ryan, not everyone who has a portfolio with SV is going to be accepted over at VEER.

I have to wonder if it's even worth the bother to work with them.

Veer / I am sooo angry with SV/Keen right now!!!
« on: April 30, 2009, 14:46 »
Hi Guys,

Aaaaargh!!!  Earlier this week, SV received my CD of photos but is refusing to accept them because of their cut off deadline of April 30th.

Why is SV is allowing uploads of photos to their website until midnight tonight but refuses to accept my CD of photos that arrived earlier this week???

I am really, really pissed!!!  >:(  >:(  >:(

In addition... it appears that KEEN will not be accepting everyone.  So if you have a SV portfolio... that does not mean it will be listed on KEEN.

Aaaaaaargh!!!!!

Adobe Stock / Fotolia Question
« on: March 14, 2009, 17:06 »
Hi Guys,

I got a question about Fotolia's new policy change.

1. Will Fotolia automatically delete photos that have not sold in 24 months?  :'(

or...

2. Will the unsold photos be offered as free Downloads, WITHOUT the photographer's consent?   >:(

I am just wondering because Fotolias change in policy has me a little confused.  ::)

Featurepics.com / Feature Pics Image Upload Question
« on: August 13, 2008, 11:39 »
Hi Guys,

I have some photos that I uploaded to Feature Pics yesterday but I have not released them yet to be reviewed by Feature Pic's editors.

How long can I keep the photos in the "need to edit" queue before they get deleted?

Hi Guys,

Recently, I submitted a bunch of photos to one of the agencies and they rejected several of them for model releases even though in each of the pictures, the person had their back turned to the camera.

These were pictures of people bicycling, running and riding horses.

I understand a model release is necessary if a person has their face turned to the camera, but if their back is turned to the camera.. how on earth is anyone going to know it's them???

"Oh yeah.. that's my derriere all right...  "

"I am going to sue... they shot a picture of my back and my arse without my permission."

Anyway... any thoughts?  Should I appeal???

Also... I shot some pictures of some old Air Force planes... and they rejected them for the logo.  What's up with that?  I mean the logo is part of the plane's identity/history.

I mean what is B17 WWII bomber without the Air Force Logo on it?

Hi Guys,

I got a question for you all.

I have got very, very small portfolios--- 24 photos with Scan stock, 11 photos with Fotolia and 16 shots with BigStock--- but surprisingly I have been getting about 1- 3 sales a month since February.

Anyway... even though I'm making sales every month, it's either been Fotolia or Big Stock or Scan Stock, but never the same agency month after month.

So here is the question... what size was your portfolio when noticed that you were making consistent sales every month with each agency?

I know Scan Stock has a reputation for being a bit erratic in terms of sales but how big does your portfolio need to be to get consistent sales every month with Fotolia or Big Stock??

Also what size was your portfolio when you noticed that your earnings were $25 or even $50 a month?

I am not expecting to get rich off this endeavor but having enough earnings that can result in a regular payout would be nice.

Hi Guys,

I like what one person said to Harrington regarding LO's demise.  See the quote below.

Quote
You all make me laugh. Answer this question - are microstock photos crap?

If you answer yes, then why you are afraid of microstock? ....

If you answer no that you think microstock photos are not crap your fear is real and your days have numbers. you are victim of technology and you are not good enough to survive. bye bye!

Another person was quoted on Harrington's blog as saying that microstock sites pop up like mushrooms...  well that's true of macrostock agencies too.

Also some photographers are becoming their own stock agencies and are selling photos directly off their own websites... so I think Harrington is talking out of his a$$.

Let's face it... there will always be a myriad number of ways to sell one's stock photos... the key to being sucessful though in selling photos over the Internet--- whether it's micro, macro or your own website... lies in getting the word out.

And I think that is why LO probably failed... because they didn't do a good job of promoting themselves.

Mostphotos.com / Log In Problems with Most Photos
« on: April 10, 2008, 06:23 »
Hi All,

I am having trouble logging into the Most Photos website.  I gave up and reset my password, but I still have not received the reset password emails.

I checked my spam folder and nothing... so I don't think the website "reset password" thing is functioning.

Anyway is there another email address that I can use to contact them besides 'info "at" mostphotos.com'?

I sent them an email at that address yesterday but I still have not received any reply.

SnapVillage.com / Snap Village Review Times??
« on: March 21, 2008, 06:23 »
Hi Everyone

How quick does snap village review a submission that has been uploaded via their website?

I uploaded some images on Monday but they still have not reviewed them yet.

What's everyone else's experience with SV regarding review times?

Hi Everyone,

How did you submit your image CDs/DVDs to Snap Village?

Did you imbed your contact information (i.e. name, address, etc) into each photo?  Or did you just label the outside of the CD/DVD with that information?

Also how did you include the keyword/description/title info?  Did you create a seperate text file for each photo or did you create some sort of spreadsheet?

Let me know, thanks.

Hey Everyone,

Anyone uploading to Scanstock?  I found in September that they were really slow about reviewing stuff.

Are they still in business?

If anyone has any info on this agency let me know.

Hi Guys,

This is sort of newbie question here, but I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Is there a way to upload multiple files on Dreamstime?  All I see is the one at a time file option.

I would like the ability to batch upload and keyword later if possible... but I don't see where I can navigate on the dreamstime website to do that... can anyone help me out?

Hey everybody,

How long does it take for bigstock to review one's photos? I uploaded some pix about a week and half ago and they are still waiting to be reviewed....

What's up with that?
