Adobe Stock / Re: Dead, dead, dead
« on: August 18, 2018, 13:21 »
I find it really hard to build a decent sized portfolio on Adobe Stock. For one thing, they don't accept editorial and I shoot a heck of a lot of editorial. So there are a lot of photos I have that I cannot submit. And when I do submit photos, about half of them cannot go through due to some weird technical issue that nobody has a solution for. If I try and resubmit, they will still not go through. And with the images that do make it through, there is a very tough review process which rejects a fair few of my images. Though a fair few of my images are also accepted as well.

I don't get heaps of regular sales on AS but considering the tiny size of my portfolio on there, I'm actually surprised by the number of sales I do get.
My experience as well.
In addition Fotolia is the only site I get rejections for "lack of aesthetical or commercial value". At least they are very consistent with. Now I can foresee with 90% efficiency which files will be rejected. All images with dark-ugly-negative-disgusting subjects don't pass. Fotolia is "old microstock school" site loving happy jumping white teeth smiling women on exotic beach. It is their politics and I respect this. But there is a market they are missing as these images sell.

Rather good for this miserable times. And almost 4x more than SS!. Incredible.
Something strange is happening, after years of a leadership Shutterstock is dying for me and IS and Pond are competing for the first place.

78
Dear Pond5, you're receiving this message because there are other sites that are selling my photos thousands of times each month while I only have a sale every few months with you.
Please, adjust your number of sales to match them and I will lower my prices a bit.
I am surprised that so many people hate P5.
Personally I like and support them. It is the only micro site I find fair for contributors. I try to put my prices competitives as possible to bring clients here because even if prices are "low" I still get here much more ( per download) then elsewhere...
BTW, this year I had 2 months with income at Pond higher than at SS.

79
Nice move from Adobe but no, thanks.
I am alergic to all subscription plans.
I bought 5 years ago a high end computer which is still working like a charm, fast like new one. My secret, no Internet connection, no stupid system and software updates which are made in "background". Don't like to rely on computer and marketing "wizards".
For Internet I use a laptop, reset and cleaned every 6 months.

General Stock Discussion / Re: My bigger sale on POND5!
« on: May 28, 2018, 13:19 »
I love sales at Pond5.
I got many times more money than price I fixed. For exemple $168 for me for a hd video I priced $70 - nice surprise. I think it was a special licence.
I priced, by mistake, some photos batchs $40 and sold 5 of them 2-3 weeks ago.
I alredy had few months when P5 was before SS on earning list.

123RF / Re: 123rf reducing commissions
« on: April 28, 2018, 03:59 »
In february I sent them two emails asking about commission changes. No response.
So I deleted my portfolio 10 days ago.. A week later I received 2 message saying that they apologize for late response and good news for contributors are coming...
I feel much better not contributing to this pitiful site.

I started to delete my images. It's too much. I am tired of being treated this way.

3 weeks and still waiting for response from 123 support to my question about official commission rule.

Pond5 / Re: Is it worth it to upload photographs to Pond5?
« on: March 01, 2018, 05:10 »
Yes and no.
There are few photos sales compared to "top 4" so earnings are not high.
But commission is much better and Pond is the ONLY site I consider 'FAIR''. They have my full support.
I believe that once they have a large photo library, comparable to others, they can 'take off'.

123RF / Re: 123rf reducing commissions
« on: February 15, 2018, 08:18 »
If the final result will be lower commission I will delete my portfolio. I am tired to be treaten like an idiot.
I will feel better and it will be completelly painless as I am earnig here 2% compared to SS.

iStockPhoto.com / Corrupted images at iStockphoto and Thinkstock
« on: February 03, 2018, 08:13 »
Anybody noticed corrupted images at Getty's sites?

When I checked my portfolios a large number of photos is broken, especially at Thinkstock.
Thumbnails are pixelated, partially visible or invisible at all. Titles and keywords are not related, 'borrowed' from others images.
Both search page and individual image detail page are concerned.

I tried to report a bug on your website but sign-in with Google account is necessary, so I posted last log lines (before crash) below. Hope it helps.
I was editing columns (changing names and removing) in CSV export module.

Great app, thank you.
Sometimes it crash but the work done is not lost. Maybe I am stressing the program too much (clicking on buttons before former operation is finished). Anyway, I think that Xpiks saves me 30% of keywording tasks time.

Suggestions:
- In exporting cvs file: possibility to add 'open text' fields. For example when exporting cvs for Pond5 I would like to add 'price', 'country', 'city' etc. (Values: '70', 'Germany', 'Berlin' etc.)
- Full submitting feature, not only ftp

I'm not signing that petition. For what, to beg for a pittance?

Have some dignity and self-respect, people.
+1

Who wants a petition? Anyone?
Yes, please.
I have only one request: ask them to sink quickly. And if they could re-hire Kelly Thompson before it would be great.

A petition for keeping the existing commission? This is insane for me.
15-20% was, is and always will be outragous, insulting and unacceptable.

the part i am not sure is that others say here, copying. i am not sure how copying can get anyone terminated. if so, many of those copycats of yuri,  would have been terminated a long time ago,
Has Yuri ever had an origianl idea' ;)
You are a little bit harsh with Yuri.
Putting 20 Profoto strobs in Porsches Cayenne trunks, than making a compo of a jet fighter and cloudy sky, it was Yuri's genuine idea.

Opted out EL
Opted out 'partners programme' as well

DT is dead for me.
I will vive thme few months then Delage m'y portfolio if nothing changes.
I am tired to support sites without nothing in exchange. Less images they will have in their library, more chance buyers will shop on sites which pay me.

Adobe Stock / Re: 4K live on Adobe Stock
« on: February 05, 2016, 07:26 »
Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce that 4K video content is now available at Adobe Stock. 4K clips cost $199.99 and your commission rate is 35% (approximately 70 credits). Customers now have the option to purchase the 4K version of your clip for $199.99 or they can purchase the HD version for $79.99.

This is a great time to submit new content as we are working hard to get your work in front of the millions of creatives around the world using Adobe software. We are looking for 5-60 second clips. Details on technical specifications can be found here: https://us.fotolia.com/Info/Contributors/Files/Videos

Kind regards,

Mat Hayward

Mat, seems you have forgotten to communicate on subscriptions, which are probably majority of sales.

I opted out.
Today I opted out to make me feel better.
Who knows maybe if many persons do it simultaneously the red light will start blinking in SS office. But the probability is low. But I am sure if we don't even try there is no chance they change enything.
To be honest I think I will opt in in few month...

General Stock Discussion / Re: Kelly Thompson to 500PX
« on: November 21, 2015, 18:45 »
OMG, please fire Kelly before it is too late.
Maybe he is not the only one responsible of iStock's decline but he was an active actor.
He doesn't understand micro/macro stock business model, or at least contributors' part of it. He thinks that all contributors are happy to invest thousands in equipments and shots and getting nothing in return.

so you really believe that everything is did was Kelly's idea??? ;D
Kelly was just a chess piece in the whole game...

I don't think it was his idea but it was a bad idea and it was his job to say it.
He was not a simple employee but the iStock's CEO. I am sure that his former boss (Klein) today is regretting the stupid idea and Kelly's 'obedience'.

And I am sure that 'Money will not make you happy' communication was Mr Thompson's personal touch - for me it's enough to doubt in his capacity to make 500px successful.
