This just came out from SS. It makes no sense as reviewers work in their homes on computers and no computer has ever given anyone a virus.     "PLEASE NOTE: Our review teams are taking the necessary steps to continue operating safely and at full capacity. However, you may experience longer than usual wait times for review due to the global impact of COVID-19."

single, living on your own, no person stuck in isolation that you have to help ?

For fun a few months ago I sent SS a request that I was interested in becoming a photo reviewer.  They responded back to me in a couple of weeks . I didn't not save their email but it went something like this. It was a very nice and polite letter. Thank you for your interest in SS. At this time you just don't have the experience we are looking for as we have other applicants that fit our requirements better. Thank you from SS.  So I guess my dream job will be on hold. Now for my background. I have been doing stock photos since Mosses came down form the mountain. I have a small site on SS and most all the other top sites. I get small sales from most of the sites daily. I have sold/published over a million photos in my time on earth as a photographer ..again over a long time in the business. So maybe someday I can get my dream job as a reviewer. I can only hope and pray....W.Scott McGill

Trust me, you wouldn't have wanted the job even if they were interested in your application. I had to sign an NDA so I can't say much more ...

I was a reviewer for a different agency over a decade ago. I did it for a couple of years. There is nothing to it. You just look at photos and decided to accept or reject based upon the agency's standards. Back then you were paid 50cents per review, so some inspectors were making 6 figures. Of cause this was a long time ago. No doubt a great deal has changed since.

Ask Laurin he reviewed for 3 years and knows everyone important.

or so he tells us.

Sometimes my pictures go to AI. A few seconds and rejections. Sometimes go to humans. More time and almost no rejections, but they are helped by AI too.

Is that a fact? Then what happens when I get accepted in a few seconds, is that AI too?

Do you have an inside source at SS that gave you this information?

well in did get this from one of their insider

"If you have not a similar image in your own portfolio, It's probably because there's another approved image from another contributor that is very very similar to your photo to the extent that the image processing software has been fooled that it's the same photo! You can try again one more time and if it was rejected again for the same reason, then I'm afraid that there's no way to add this photo to the library."

Thank you all very much. Being a student, I've yet to pay taxes for the first time. I have a large portfolio of pictures that were ready for stock but I think I will wait until I settle down to avoid double taxation.

Most importantly, I hope everyone understands that this question was never meant in an offensive way, as made clear by my age, it's an honest one, I thank you for your replies!

There is a thershold that you have to reach to pay taxes (and a long jourhey to upload, tag and sell I guess...)
As a reference in my country is over 500 Euros. Below that you are covered not to report.
But of course everything e.g. Paypal to local bank transfers are monitored by tax office.

interesting.  so if you found a way to have many sources of revenue that only made 499 euros each, you wouldn't have to pay any tax?

Canada i have to declare all revenue from all sources, and tax determined that way

My accountant said that i had to declare myself as freelancer by the first euro. When he realised that overall annual profits were  below 500 euros he said that it was ok to file only payed work as an emploee i had done for the year.
For me it was critical as long as if  a minimum $50 payout requires to be a freelancer, that means 250euros per month for insurance plus 500 euros tax advance (yup, next year pre-taxxing) plus around 45% taxes plus many other irrelevant expences e.g. for the chamber of commerce (75 per year IIRC from 2015).

Long story short, under 500 euros the tax officer don't mind except of course there are other reasons or indications for tax-avoidance or grey-income.

interesting.  when i started For me it was the opposite, being able to declare a free lancer allowed me to have a small business loss from my gear and use  it against my other income.

which actually shows that it is totally different for every one, based on circumstances and tax environment.

any information on next phase of availability?

Not at this time, I expect it will remain with the silver rank and above for a while. If you have an established portfolio of Illustrative Editorial you can submit your portfolio via the contact us link found at the bottom of the Adobe Stock Contributor portal for consideration.

-Mat Hayward

thanks.  Don't have the availability to create portfolio at this time.  was curious, and more if it was worth creating AS versions of Illustrative Editorial specific at time being, and i guess you are saying no.

Straight from their "Experts"

Dont think it's just the reviewers who might be idiots, but the support staff as well.

Just got a rejection for an invalid model release. When I asked why support their reply was my model release doesnt meet for their format requirements and therefore is not acceptable. I need to use a different release from their accepted list of companies they accept releases from.

I used the shutterstock release form....

Lol now what

support staff is just ridiculous.  I had them tell me my editorial was rejected for Non-Lic because "it was not newsworthy enough".  when i pointed out that that's actually not what SS-editorial is about as per guidelines, they came back that the action described was not obvious "Buying a transit ticket" with actual image being someone receiving a ticket the image....
add fact this is not what "Non-Lic" means, is still don't know why the image gets rejected  (i have decided to assume it's the americans blocking it because their was a kinder egg visible....)

In the UK theres a surprising number of restrictions - National Trust as I said, Royal Parks and much of London is privately owned such as Canary Wharf. I was very dissapointed when they started rejecting National Trust properties. I believe some people have had ones taken on National Parks removed which are not actually private property but areas with strict planning controls!

not only NT properties.  I've had image of the Giant's Causeway rejected, even though the rocks themselves are not property, just the entry booth and museum.

but no way to make them understand at this point

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Creative Cloud Bonus Program
« on: October 27, 2019, 08:32 »

I reached 300 videos for 2019 in August, But haven't received the all apps bonus yet. It's been almost 8 weeks. Are the bonuses sent out individually based on when you reached the threshold or are they sent out in batches so some might get them in less time than the 6-8 week time frame and others longer than the 6-8 week time frame?

I have the same problem (with photos)...
 ::)

This is the answer I got after contacting support (as advised by Mat):

Not all contributors who qualify have received bonus codes yet.

It is possible that you may be included in the next wave of emails with bonus codes that are to be sent out, however, we do not have a timeline for when that will be.

If you do not receive an email with a bonus code then it is most likely because the promotions department did not feel as though your account met the requirements.

Ultimately, it is up to the promotions department to determine which accounts will receive bonus codes. We have no influence over their determinations nor can we generate bonus codes.

I didn't think the offer was conditional.  I thought meeting the requirements of image and % was enough.  Matt why the change?

It seems that Grossinger has reached the $500 mark on SS. It took over 7000 photos and some videos to get there. Not an outstanding ratio between upload numbers and sales but it goes to show that he has persistance.
Seems to be he set out to prove one thing and his results show the opposite.

and also no word.  His goal was to make it by uploaded 10,000 images.  His latest chart showed clearly that it was a failure, and had to add video.

Lot of rejections not only for similarity, but also for noise, artifacts, pixelation, banding all together :) nice

And if a cloud or dust is part of the photo, for focus.  ::)

"Focus: The main subject of this image is not in focus." Maybe I need my eyes tested?  ;)

yeah, i had a picture of a train worker on a steam train, engulfed in Steam- clearly described, rejected for focus...
