Bigstock.com / Re: Rise of Bigstock?
« on: March 19, 2010, 08:48 »
Last month was a BME and this month will also be good, maybe better. Definitely on the rise for me.

Probably migrating another big batch to Thinkstock, causing the StockXpert site to go offline.

Still having the login problem. Anyone else?

Yes, I'm still having problems logging in. I get an error message.

Also, I'm getting more rejections than usual, so something must be wrong ;-)))

I don't know if this is any comfort or not but sales have been good for me in Jan. A BME with the average sale of an image being 70c.

There are a lot of website sources for the imagery.

IStock seems to be the biggest when looking at them individually.

Found some of my images there through iStock.

Veer / Re: What happens to Veer MP?
« on: January 12, 2010, 13:02 »
I just received a Payment Advice Notice from Veer in email. They must be getting ready to issue payments.

I received a payment advice as well. However, it shows that they have made deductions for 'tax withholdings'. I live in the USA with an SSN, have previously been paid through Snapsvillage and Veer marketplace without these incorrect deductions. So why now?

It does quite clearly say that non-exclusives will receive 25c on the partner program facts page?????? Maybe we got a raise already :-)

Why was I thinking they were only paying 25. Did they change it?

The 25c only applies to Independent contributors. Exclusives get 30-38c on canister level.

I'm a silver non-exclusive getting 30c. So canister levels must effect non-exclusives as well.

I had 25 sales = $7.50, seemed to start on the 13th November.

You can see the daily and cumulative sales on the stats page for November.

Still only a small amount compared to Photos.com sales through StockXpert.

My steady stream of sales suddenly stopped on Nov 15th, seems odd. But there again who can predict the regular ebb and flow of a new micro. As far as I am concerned it is still early days and will continue to submit.

Sales 41 $89.85

Started off ok but sales have been steadily declining, even with feeding in new uploads.

« on: September 18, 2009, 12:23 »
I have had footage waiting since the end of July at iStock. Took three weeks to get reviewed and approved, and over three weeks so far to get through the final stage and put live on the site. I think they are looking for additional footage reviewers.

I've only 15 clips on P5, all fairly recent uploads taken with my 5D MkII
With 2 sales at $25 each (my share) this week I am encouraged to upload more.

I expected to do OK on this :-)

Veer / Re: First sale at Veer
« on: July 30, 2009, 09:56 »
Just browsed through some pages and found 4 sales totaling $5.60 so far today :-)

I look forward to when we can see our stats at a glance, I am sure Brian knows how obsessive we are with the 'F5' key  ;)

Thanks VMP - so far so good!

Shutterstock.com / Re: Does SS have a 'scout' equivalent?
« on: July 26, 2009, 16:09 »
I just had a bunch rejected that were accepted elsewhere. I usually make some corrections to the file and resubmit, out of courtesy to the reviewers I add a message in the 'note to reviewers' section that the images are resubmissions with corrections. Downsizing always helps if their is a focus issue. I think its wrong to assume that a rejection is made because a reviewer is in a bad mood, in most cases I can see their POV, even though I might not necessarily agree ;-)

Veer / Re: Setting up Veer
« on: July 26, 2009, 12:41 »
All my image stats say zero views and zero sales. However, I've earned $'s over the last few month, so I don't think these stats are updated or live yet. I think they are still getting there house in order, we need to be patient.  ;)
Where on Veer website do you any stats about views and sales?? I can only see it under my images, but nowhere can I see any summary...

Go to 'dashboard' and look at 'approved', and next to the thumbnail you'll see some new info including purchased, viewed, earned.

I see now that when I view my port there's now stats for number of times viewed and downloaded as well as earnings from the given image.  So far it's all 0's but hopefully that'll change.

I just got paid by StockXpert, requested on July 21.
Same for me, looks like Paypal payments are being put through today :-)

70
I am in the US, I got an FT payment yesterday, it took 8 days, a little longer than usual.

This is usually the same for me, however, I am also in the US and I've been waiting nearly three weeks. In fact I can't request any new payments until this has been cleared, so I have a backlog of waiting payments now. I wrote to them and got the standard cut and paste reply to wait 2-3 weeks.
Ho hum....

Veer / Re: Veer - a big waste of time
« on: July 17, 2009, 12:53 »
You do what you gotta do to stay sane, even if it's an otherwise poor business decision...

Well, I can certainly relate to that statement, seeings how I resigned from my job today with nothing really lined up. Bad business decision? You bet. Worth it to quit instead of walking around with a knot in my stomach all the time because I hate my job and the people managing it? You bet.

Yikes - scary stuff, but I bet you feel that a weight has been lifted off your shoulders!

Re: VMP. I've had regular monthly payments for the last few months from them. A few days ago I received $96 for June, which considering that they haven't officially launched is a good sign for the future. I still find the rejections a little frustrating, but I have to respect Brian and his team thus far as the dollar speaks volumes. It's a shame you are deciding to withdraw your portfolio, I think many of us have a lot to gain by partnering with this site, especially as they develop there customer base over the next six months. For me at least VFM is far from being a waste of time, good luck to them and to those who decide not to take the leap of faith.

72
I've been waiting since 2nd July which is unusual, they are normally quite prompt.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Considering Exclusivity
« on: June 29, 2009, 12:40 »

You can sell prints, from your website, or elsewhere. You can sell RM images anywhere. Basically it's your copyright and you can do just about anything with your images except sell, or allow them to be sold, RF anywhere else. That includes iStock rejects.
[/quote]

So can you sell rejected images on IS elsewhere as RM?

Got my payout this morning as well and have already requested the next one thanks to a nice $50 commission on a PPD EL today :-)

« on: June 17, 2009, 16:56 »
Congrats on your first Alamy sale :-)

It's a good feeling and will encourage you to upload more. My average is just over $300 per sale before their cut. Which is a nice addition to micro income and a good outlet for RM images.
