Veer / Re: Veer/Snapvillage royalties
« on: June 15, 2009, 15:17 »
Both my VMP place earnings and Snapsvillage earnings went through today.
I am encouraged that the VMP earnings are good for the last few months considering that the site is still under development and is yet to be fully launched and marketed. Fingers crossed I look forward to good consistent sales at VMP. Now if only they would stop rejecting my best images ;-)))

CanStockPhoto.com / Re: My first FotoSearch Regular - $19.80
« on: June 13, 2009, 07:52 »
After sending 400 'test' images to CanStockPhoto over two years ago I finally made my first $50 payout this month. So now that I am rolling around in my riches I am deciding whether to send them a 1000 images or just delete my account (I stopped uploading a long time ago due to apathy). Seriously I am very patient, but 2 years plus to earn $50 off 400 images, is it worth sending more or should I just bow out gracefully? :-)

Where can we see our earnings and sales!?
This feature is going to be added at a later date, I imagine in time for the 'summer marketing launch'.

It's rare that I complain about rejections, but with nearly 100 images pending and they have started rejecting my first batch for:
"Not suitable for stock lack of commercial appeal"
I already have nearly 900 images online and these are some of the rejections:

Come on Brian, these are good sellers and I am sure are suitable for stock??

Thanks for listening, apart from the rejections I am really liking the site so far :-)

Veer / Re: Content not good enough for Veer - confused?
« on: May 11, 2009, 14:49 »
Ok I just got an email from Snapsvillage (Veer Marketplace Team) saying that:

Unfortunately, based on the images you currently have on SnapVillage, we have decided not to transfer your work to Veer Marketplace. It could be that your images just need some polishing, that you chose subjects that aren't a great fit for Veer Marketplace, or that you hadnt submitted very many images.

However, my not good enough images have been selling there for several months, I have already received two payouts.

Is this a re-think on the quality of my port or is this an error.

Has anyone else who's been accepted onto Veer received such an email?

Thanks

Stu :-)

Hi Stu, yes indeed, you shouldn't have received that email.  Your images are safe and sound on Veer Marketplace.  Sorry about that.  You can ignore the message.  Same goes for anyone else who's images have already been migrated to Veer Marketplace.

Aaron

Thanks for your swift reply Aaron

I was hoping this might be a mistake :-)

Oh, just got the e-mail, I was wrong, aparently they do like my penguins  :) Got the same e-mail as you Kngkyle

I would have been shocked if you weren't selected. Your images are great. Mine on the other hand... big surprise.  ;)

You are both undoubtedly worthy ;-)
Congrats!
The good news is that there are sales, however, for me on a par with 123RF, not much but consistent.

Hmm, I am probably also not good enough, I have not received any e-mail, but I assume this, because they have not moved my stuff over to Veer. Did you guys apply directly at Veer market place?

I was lucky to have many of mine automatically transferred back in February, I found Brian very helpful with questions I had at the time. I hope they have not reconsidered :-)

I got the message also.

Are you already selling at Veer marketplace?

I have nearly 900 image over there already selling, which is why I am confused by this email.

I trialled this new batch editor a few weeks ago, and I have to admit I liked it a lot :-)

StockXpert.com / Re: StockXpert rejections...new trend?
« on: April 08, 2009, 05:19 »
I read a post by SteveO a few months back either here or on the StockXpert forums saying to contact support and ask for  the images to be re-instated.   I don't know why they continue to do this as it's obvious that the uploader hasn't finished his job yet.   They should just leave them a few days and then come back to them later.

I'm also getting some "no keywords" rejections - mainly because I still haven't quite worked out the upload system and hadn't got around to fixing some batches before the review went through. Does anyone know if there is an easy way of re-submitting without sending emails to support?

It has been stated in the StockXpert forums that after submitting, images are given 3 days to have keywords added, and 1 day for model releases. I would post a note in the forums and ask for your images to be re-reviewed and also send a note to support.

Veer / Re: Anyone sells at Veer yet?
« on: April 08, 2009, 05:15 »
^^ Is this better than when your images were just at SnapVillage?

I sold 16 images for $23.40, which is better than what I was making through Snapsvillage.

I had stopped uploading to SV a while ago, but think I will start uploading to Veer Marketplace if sales continue to grow.

Thanks Brian :-)

Alamy.com / Re: Recently joined!! how successful??
« on: April 07, 2009, 16:57 »
Nice, thats almost a payout :)

Tantalizingly close, as my balance was already paid, I'll probably have to wait months before I reach $250 for the next payout ;-)

Alamy.com / Re: Recently joined!! how successful??
« on: April 07, 2009, 15:48 »
Just sold one today for $365 less 40% commission of $146 leaving me $219. Because the image is RF there is no sale info available, the detailed summary shown by 'Holgs' is for RM sales. Most of my port is RF so most of my sales have been RF. Sales may be less frequent at Alamy, but they are always a nice surprise :-)

StockXpert.com / Re: StockXpert rejections...new trend?
« on: April 02, 2009, 14:47 »
There are 4 pictures of this bird that have been on the StockXpert for several years and never sold. IS's top selling image of this creature has sold twice in two years. Are these rejections so foolish that you would consider boycotting the site? It's not nice receiving rejections and reviewers don't always get it right, but unless your images are of a high technical content and strong images, I believe you may find it difficult getting them accepted.

Shutterstock.com / Re: "Feed the Beast"
« on: March 30, 2009, 09:24 »
I agree with the comments above that as your portfolio grows the beast loses its appetite. I'm just under 1000 images at SS, with hardly any uploading over the last 2 months, however it will be an excellent month for me. This data might be a bit skewed because I had 4 ELs this month, but I don't expect sales to tail off now when I don't upload compared to when I had 500 or less images online.

I got a very surprising rejection this morning from quite a good image.
However, got two ELs within an hour of this, to soften the blow  ;D
