now I know why my downloads don't show up , nothing to worry about (yet), $$ are still adding. IS is picking up for me after 3 slow months. @ YingYang : what's your graph showing ?

Hatman, I do call my article 'a complete guide' ... and therefor those graphs your talking about are on the site http://www.perrush.be/SYF_micro_E_19a.htmlbut I agree you have to look for them. There is such a lot of information that it is hard to arrange properly (for a non-English speaking person)

I came nearly to the same conclusion. http://www.perrush.be/SYF_micro_E_22.htmlfinal word is that we only can wait and see what happens. But I surely think things will change big time over the next 2 to 3 year

I can understand they want unprocessed photos and I'm OK with that , but than when I take a random look at most popular photos and I see lots of processed photos , artificial skies , unreal sunsets , cross processed photos, artificial motion blurs , burned edges , colors pushed over the edge, etc.
I go crazy on those over filtered rejections. I'm pretty good with PS and they turn down perfectly composed images. .... We don't need this kind of .... ... and what did they choose as picture of the year ?? Right

It's also most likely that IS holds at most about half of what the others hold
Why do you always say that ? We know that for most IS makes only around 30% of their income. So $/image would be around 30% either. And now I hear you say "but most have less image in their portfolio" So what. Haven't you put effort in those rejected images either ? for me those rejection have to be included into the calculation. That are just images making you 0$/month. Otherwise I just pull all my bad selling images from one site (or only submit top images) to have a good $/image ratio. Than I can say : "Wauuuw that site really sells good)

Perrush,
Nice images. I see you don't have Extended Licensing enabled. Not sure if this is on purpose. Some people simply miss this option, so I thought I'd point it out.

Tnx steve for pointing this out. Although I had just enabled it them myself

looking to the portfolio...is so easy!! My good!!
well that's what I thought in the beginning too. But ... I've watch lise's portfolio over a certain time and I've seen pictures taking off like hell. Just ordinary images. This could be caused by two things : Lise has customers who are only, mainly buying her images OR / AND Lise is favored in the search results.

I was doing a little research for my article. and came to the following conclusion --------- quote --------- 19.2. How much does Lise Gagne earn ?This is a question many tried to answer before. If I compare the figures of Dec '06 with Aug '07 we can make a estimation. In 9 months she had roughly 163.000 downloads, that are more than 18.000 downloads a month (or 600 a day) My average a download on iStock for this year is $0.69 a download. Given that Lise has double the payout I have, I estimate that she earns at least $1.40 per download. But probably more because her files are larger. Nevertheless, we'll stick with the $1.40 per download. 18.000 times $1.40 makes $25.200 a month ... ... ---------------- end quote --------------- I though you would be interested to know this

Pixart,
along with that 'free-thing' on BigStock it seems to me there are strangethings going on with your portfolios. Are you sure nobody got access to your login and/or passwords ?
I would change all my passwords immediately if I got two of these strange things in one day

What can I do to get it to the $1- $2 range?
't is called ... quality (for the main part I guess) or maybe better : suited for stock

I think an accurate calculation is :
Total number of images processed / Total earnings
If you have 100 images processed/submitted, but only 50 accepted at IS, 75 at SS, ... you still need to take those rejected images into the calculation you to know how good you're doing. Your rejections took up a certain amount of your time too.

For a major update of my article (27 pages ) about microstocks I've been making some new graphs. This is one of them :

I guess for most of us it is $1-$2 per month /image on microstock excuse me ?? I'm WAAAYYYY over that figure. And what I've read a lot of guys are. Actually I did a little research for my article (big update comming, actually I rewrote it completely) and as I hear the $/image/year figure of the alamy guys ... then I'm happy I choose micros instead. Must get $3 to $5 / image / year ... ... that less than half of what I get.

sorry berry, but all those words doesn't describe that image. house, forest, clouds, real eastate, ... something like that. But beach you should only describe the MAIN subject wat you SEE. I think keywords will be the next big thing. So the last 6 months I pay close attention to them.
