How do you get 0.27 RPD?
I've checked and the lowest commisions are 0.38 and there are a few 0.5 and 1.0 ones..
I get 0,25 and some 0,50 - I think I never had a 1,00 sales.

A screenshot from the BigStock Sales list should explain the 0,27 RPD.

My BigStock experiemce:
- makes 1.89% of my revenue
- lowest RPD $0.27 of all agencies I upload to (quit IStock last year, so now BigStock is the lowest)
- the site is buggy for uploading
- rejection reasons are ridiculous like SS
- support told several times 'we will fix this', nothing happened

Thanks @georgep7 for the screenshot!

At least a text has been added, but nothing is changed so far - until now, just 'promises'  ;)

Hello,

My name is James and I work at Envato. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree, it's not the best approach. As others have pointed out, there are different perspectives on how to conclude a portfolio review that leads to a no. We've had an internal debate about it (with people presenting thoughts just like what people have presented here) and ultimately we agree that not responding isn't how we want to move forward.

While we've tried to make it clear what the process is, we want people to know just how things are going and when we've finished our evaluation. We've begun work on changing the way the application process works and how it connects with all our systems (not as easy as writing an email unfortunately) and I expect we'll have an updated process to be launched very soon.

If you have any thoughts on words we can use or ways we can share news like this with compassion and empathy, I'd welcome that input. It's never easy to receive a no and if we can do it in a way that encourages people to keep going, that would be my preference.

Thanks again for calling this out and letting us know how you feel and how we can do better.

James.
Hello James,

thanks for answering in here!
I don't really care about being rejected at a site, because this is just how the world is - but what I care about is how this is done.

If a website tells be right after applying as a contributor "If you are unsuccessful you won't hear from us.", I would delete my account right away, after I would have made it through the review. Thats just not the way partners do any business.

So, thanks for your words and I will give a thumbs up, after you have changed your process.
Until I get that answer, to say it in your companies words: "We appreciate your patience!"

Best regards

Edit: And sorry for my english, it's not my first language ;-)

No sales at SS for 2 days now... maybe sales are "collected" and will be shown after 1st of June  >:(

Envato won't answer back? so what?
Will a "dear JustAnImage, your work is great but we feel it does not fit in our library" make a difference?

You choosed wise your nickname I believe, seems that we all are just an image or video in this vast world of media.
I know i am just 1 out of 100 thousands of people and yes i know, people are treated very badly. But this doesn't mean we all have to accept this without letting other people know.
But well, one little reply (even automated) shouldn't be a problem, just to value someone is applying at your site ;-)
So yes, even a "your work is crap, we won't take you" would make big difference imo.

362
Ok, i think I got your messages ;-)

Thanks a lot!

Envato / Applying as a contributor - are they serious?!
« on: May 11, 2020, 18:04 »
Hey,

i just applied to become a contributor at Envato Elements and after some time of entering data I finally reached a site telling me:

Your Application has been submitted successfully. GoodLuck!
If you are successful you should expect an email from the team - this can take up to 5 weeks
If you are unsuccessful you won't hear from us.
We appreciate your patience!

This must be a joke... are they serious? If i didn't make it, they don't even send a f...ing email?

If I make it there, i will immadiatly close down that account... unbelievable how photographers are treated these days :)

Hmm... I don't see anyone whining here, just sharing information.
But good to see we have guys with your level of wisdom here ;-) Thanks for your helpful comment!
You misread Paw's tone.
If I did, I apologize!

Same here with sales in may at about 40-50% of the "normal" numbers.
(AS and DT are low too for me)

In order of overall income:
- Shutterstock: $0,92
- Adobe Stock: 1,12
- Dreamstime: $0.97
- BigStock: $0.30
- IStock/Getty: I deleted my account in Dec 2019, was $0.13
- Alamy: $7,66 (very few sales)
- DepositPhotos: $0.302 (because of "one $0.34 sale")

iStockPhoto.com / Re: images in a series - good idea?
« on: November 29, 2019, 15:38 »
Just to inform you about my experience with "images in a series" (i wrote about a submission limit before in this thread), i receive an email from istock support today, which says:

---------------- Original EMail --------------------------------
Thank you for your message.

It appears you are still submitting serial/duplicate content but in separate batches.

iStock defines duplicates and/or similars as:

- Uploading a series of nearly identical images to your portfolio.
- Making minor alterations to an image already in your portfolio (e.g., changing colors, using the same background but changing the text, etc.).
- Flipping or mirroring a previously approved image horizontally/vertically and uploading it as a new submission.
- Creating a series of images with visually minor variations

Offering different versions of the same file can be useful - however, we suggest a limit of three or four of the strongest compositions and not submitting any more than that. When uploading different versions of compositional work, please avoid making minor alterations such as mirroring objects, moving/adding/removing small elements that arent immediately apparent to the viewer, small color adjustments, etc.

Unfortunately we will be unable to increase your submission limits until you are able to demonstrate your understanding of our self editing guide.

Self-editing Guide: https://contributors.gettyimages.com/article.aspx?article_id=4861

Youre welcome to request an evaluation of this, six months from the date of this notice (on or after May 29, 2020). To do so, please submit a support ticket: https://accountmanagement.gettyimages.com/Help/SupportTicket

I will go ahead and close this ticket. If you would like to reopen this ticket, please reply to the email notification of my response as replies via Account Management will not register a response if the ticket is closed. If you have another question or issue, please create a new ticket as we often need to assign tickets to different people and departments.

Sincerely,

------------------------------------------------------------

After saying i am duplicating images and uploading them, i waited their three month to get a new submission review to get the submission limit removed again.

Now i got another 6 month for "images in a series" submission limit, like shooting sightseeing images at night in London (thats what they called duplicates).
So now i quit istick/getty - thats really a joke...

About average over here.

My favourite sale in oct'19 was $0.0006, the customer payed $0.00441 - its a kind of magic, when you can buy an image for <1cent ;-)
Actually 15% of 0.00441 is 0.0006615, so iStock even stole 0.0000015 from you  ::)

I really enjoyed that one ;-)

I just tried to send my ticket for the 8th time and again i get the message:
-> "Thank you for contacting Getty Images | iStock. You will receive an email confirmation shortly. You can also track your support tickets under My Tickets (opens new window)."
and then nothing happens.

Am i the only one with that problem or is someone else having problems with tickets?

Thanks

Just tried it again to send a ticket today and it still does not work.
Also tried another browser now... it seems they don't want any support ;-)

I am a little late with my answer, but well... be careful with series if there are too many images in one series.

I got an email on 25th of july from getty, that my submission limit has been set to a maximum of 50 images per week for the next 3 month, due to 'similar images'.

Original Email:
Hello,

Hope this email finds you well. Weve noticed a trend in your accountwhen uploading files, there appears to be a significant number of duplicates or files that are too similar to each other. The following is how we define duplicates and/or similars:

Uploading a set of nearly identical files to your portfolio.
Reprocessing a file already in your portfolio (changing colors, adding filter effects, etc.).
Flipping a file already in your portfolio and submitting it as though it is new.
Recycling files or image elements already in your portfolio to create new files.
Cropping horizontal or vertical files to square or panoramic and submitting as them though they were new.

To assist you in being more selective with your submissions, weve placed a file submission limit on your account of 50. This means you will be able to submit a maximum of 50 files per week. To view your submission limit usage and the date it resets, visit your profile page under, ESP User Info (https://esp.gettyimages.com/app/profile).

And i did none of those 5 'mistakes' up there, i tried to explain that to them and got this answer:

Original Email:
Our editors would like some time to monitor your submissions and ask that you reply back in 3 months (after Oct. 24th) to review your submission limit.

Our general guidance is to select no more than 2-4 different variations.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
Contributor Relations

Now i am trying to get my submission limit removed, but they don't answer and the ticket system does not work anymore.

Good Luck

Hello,

i am try to open a ticket on GettyImages in the Account Management section and it doesn't work...

When i submit the ticket it say "Ticket succesfull - you will get a confirmation email" and thats it - i didn't get a single email and the ticket does not show up in the 'my tickets' section.
(Did this for the last 5 days on two different machines)
