Cool shot!

On my monitor, it looks a tab too soft. Could it be that your focus was not dead on?
Could also be a slight camera movement.
Dunno...what f-stop where you using? I also see a bit of red fringing as well...its hard to tell.

Crestock.com / Re: What is your acceptance rate at Crestock ?
« on: February 19, 2008, 23:19 »
So far, i can`t complain with Crestock. I had more sales there than LO, SV etc...
I find their reviewers are quite fair but knowledgeable at the same time.

I think that Crestock in general is keen to creative images rather than your typical stock shots.
I think they will do well simply because they know what they are looking for in a picture. They seem to know the business of stock pretty well :)

Photo Critique / Re: Stock suitable

I like that shot a lot, but woudn't it be a better for Alamay or Photoshelter than micro?  Micro is so non-artistic....  if the tiger isn't isolated on white ... kinda  thing, it may be overlooked.

I agree with Pixart!

General Macrostock / Anyone submitting @ Photoshelter?
« on: February 10, 2008, 21:18 »
I recently got accepted @ Photoshelter. Nice looking site, love its concept.
Looks very promising!

I was just wondering if any of you guys are having any success there?

Is it worth it?

" The free ride is over. The micros are developing an ever-growing new group of professional stock photographers who will eventually leave micro and move on to mid and finally macro stock. The quality on those sites (mid and macro) will increase as will prices once again.

I think nativelight brought up a good point. In fact, its true in a sense that the micro world is a good starting to point in stock photography. Its like slowly climbing the ladder towards mid & macro.

I think the question is...
Should we abandoned microstock all together?
Is it worth all the effort for a few cents?

Microstock is a gamble. A game of downloads. Its how you play the game...and yes it does matter whether "you win or loose".
I keep asking myself the same question over and over.

But i love doing micro...for now anyways.

P.S I wonder how many of you has successfully moved to macro?
Anyone? If so, please feel free to share your story :)

What happens if no one's smiling in the picture ...

... the sensor goes into an endless loop searching for the smile and burns itself out?

Albumo`s interface is really nice. I agree on that.
But i`m not so sure if it will take off or not. Sales are really slow there.

General Stock Discussion / Re: How does your profile affect sales?
« on: December 22, 2007, 22:56 »
I think they do take a contributers profile into consideration when buying images.
Not necessarily each time they download an image. But i think at some point, buyers who download on a regular basis may feel the need to investigate the status of a certain photographer.

Its the same principle when you buy a bag of chips, you don`t really pay attention to the ingredients right...
But some do.

I guess to me, if i was a buyer, i think i would check beforehand on who took the image etc...
Just for the sake of knowing who took the picture and if the photographer is selling a lot.

Its hard to tell really.

Good question by the way!

I had a great start so far this year.
My goals for 2008 is to earn $400 monthly

- Build my portfolio to 500 or so images
- Dedicate more time for stock
- Limiting myself only a few hours on this site a month (yeah right!)
 ;D ;D
