I have a few photos that rank at the top of searches that I would like to disable. However, I'm concerned about losing my ranking once the photos are enabled again. Does anyone know what would happen? Thanks.
If you disable your portfolio then re-activate your image ranking appears to stay as it was Though I would say the longer you leave it de-activated it may affect ranking.

The database will grow as the image factories continue to dump stuff on there along with the low quality spammers who seem to have no issues getting their crap approved

Sigh now Bigstock earns more per download than shitterstock (27 cents compared to 10 cents). I don't see shitterstocks logic why not make all their platforms BS & SS have the same price system. But heyho maybe I expected too much from a gang that obviously don't think too well

Btw when/if we re-enable our port/image sales down the line do all our previous images come back? In catelog manager I can only see 300 images now whilst I had over 6k before.

Yes they do and it usually takes 72 hours for them to come back. Your sales will resume almost immediately (dependent on quality and all the usual stuff)

I've no intension of boycotting Shutterstock by suspending or deleting my portfolio. For one thing, I'm at a higher RPD in June 2020 than in June 2019 or June 2018.
I think there has been a fixation on $0.10 downloads. So far this month I've received an average of $0.44 per sale.
I upload to seven agencies and agree with the view expressed in this video https://youtu.be/XWlNVgC7xuE about exclusive accounts and diversity.
I call bullsh*t you people honestly where do you come from? shitterstock paying you money to say this?

Well I seem to have lost interest in uploading to SS (and their BS sidekick)
Come January those $0.10 sales will go down again when we're all reset to level 1
Must go, got a lot of uploads to do elsewhere lol
The crazy joke is that you can now make more money per download on Bigstock than you can on their parent company shitterstock!

Why 1500px pictures without watermark?
1500 pixels is a reasonable size for Facebook pages and websites, quick to load and not big enough to steal and sell most likely

A couple Facebook groups to join to link up with folks dedicated to pushing back on the Shutterstock commission cut. We're stronger unified.
Stock Submitter Coalition: https://www.facebook.com/groups/261369748434285/ ...
This is the group that Jake Sorenson started. He'd asked me to help with moderation, which I have been.
This evening I removed myself as moderator when I saw (after another member complained about it) that the "Brand Ambasador" for Freepik Antonio Gravante had joined the group and been made an admin by Jake this morning.
I want nothing to do with Freepik - my concern is that somehow they are hoping to benefit from all this work leaving Shutterstock.
Jake is suggested that no one else was volunteering and Antonio did, so it's all good...
If you have an opinion, now'd be a great time to voice it. I think this will split the group
Frying pans and fire come to mind freepik is a toxic brand to anyone trying to make money from stock sales. Its not that this FB group will achieve anything anyway other than whine and throw insults about ss and eachother

Any takers?

shitterstocks reply to one negative employee "Thanks for the feedback. Were confident that we have a strong strategy in place and were already seeing great results driven by new offerings such as Asset Assurance and by delivering creative solutions to support our customers in new ways as their needs are evolving. But were just getting started -- our customers can look forward to more offerings coming this year!" The asshats have more plans to screw the contributors? and I loved this one "Cons Exists in a state of perpetual confusion - makes money despite itself not because ofAdvice to Management Go to business school and learn the basics" Sounds about right

I crossed my mind, that they could disable those buttons, I think every but must act ASAP.
If they deactivate these buttons, it will not be possible to reactivate the portfolios
At the miserable rates they are paying it would be no loss

What money? You do realise that you'll take a huge paycut Sell 200 files at 10 cents = $20

His twitter feed has only 281 followers? What kind of a CEO is this?
And you are right, his likes are a lot of Trumpian glory likes.
Every day I learn something new that is worse than before.
@spavlovsky

Why dont even the employees follow their own boss? Business partners? Some of the 1.2 Million producers?
How is this profile designed to represent the company, get ready to connect with all the other CEOs and impress potential customers?
They follow him on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/spavlovsky
Hah what a joke the CEO of a tech company and he hasn't even bothered to update his FB page ~ silly goose still works for Allrecipes

How this guy can actually talk so much utter rubbish for 20 minutes is mind numbing.
You're too kind
He's such a dull presenter too.
I do have a file with some priceless quotes though. Sounds like he saw a few strategy presentations after finishing his MBA and just regurgitated word salad.
Disruption blah blah blah platform economy blah blah blah engagement is the primary metric blah blah blah
This is him
He is just a corporate tosser like most CEO's they haven't a clue but think they can talk pseudo business crap and get away with the lack of brains and imagination

Perhaps I thought it was due to deleting all the stolen images... then I remembered shitterstock couldn't be bothered putting in that kind of effort afterall a buck is a buck

Shutterstock/Istock merger to "compete" with Adobe? We are doomed I tell you. Or it may be that they are seeing a massive slump ahead with Covid. I pretty sure we don't know the full story.
Getty hasn't got a bean to its name its more likely to be Visual China Group

I have seen this this morning. Is it true? Is it a fake?
It's true he probably needed to buy a new guitar for his collection

I just got a $0.10 sale and a $0.14 sale. I shut down my portfolio.
I'm due to get a payout at the end of May. It hasn't gone through yet, so I have to put my portfolio back up until it goes through. It should be very soon, within the next couple of days.
If you reached the payout minimum by May 31st they should pay you don't have to have an active portfolio. Bear in mind payments are usually made around the 7th day. Unless they get the bright idea to change that too

When people switch off their ports SS seems also to completely delete assets from their portfolio manager. I switched off my video port and noticed through the day (yesterday) items being deleted from my video portfolio...until zero left in my video portfolio
No they are still on the servers if you turn on sales they will come back over 72 hours

Of course the hard reset on royalty percentages doesn't occur until Jan 1st 2021 so most likely you will be on your exisiting level from June 1st

Knowing the way shutterstock implemented software changes in the past its probably not working and stan the man is busy frantically hitting the reset button
372
« on: May 30, 2020, 09:33 »
Bigstock already operates a form of royalty reset based on a rolling 12 months.
To be honest its already messed up and sales have pretty much dried up except for the odd 27 cent sale.
I quit uploading there a few months back there was just no point anymore.

A noble and appreciated marketing action, but still a marketing action
Never look a gift horse in the mouth
Considering that shuttersucks never gave us a raise and neither did isuck/getty any increase is welcome
I stand corrected Photobomb advised that shutterstock did give raises up until 2008 ...12 years ago

Just be careful about disabling your images and videos I did that three days ago and as a test tried to re-enable my portfolio yesterday and today and I'm just getting
"You have changed your settings too many times today. Please try again later"
Seems like once you disable they aren't letting you back in
