General Stock Discussion / Re: Moving to the U.S.; tax questions« on: September 21, 2020, 12:40 »typically royalties received from your work are reported as self-employment income Youre confusing things. Our royalties are not royalties as far as tax reporting. Yes, they are regular income. No, they are not wages, W-2. 256

General Stock Discussion / Re: Moving to the U.S.; tax questions« on: September 21, 2020, 12:01 »Microstock-based earnings will be reported as royalty income. "Royalty" income does not get taxed for self-employment taxes - FICA, etc. "Royalty" income is for when you are no longer actively participating in the production. If I stopped creating content as my "job" and then just sat back, it becomes "royalty" income. In active production and receiving payment for licensing is taxed as "regular" income. It doesn't matter how they report it on the 1099. Here's an old thread: https://www.microstockgroup.com/general-stock-discussion/%27royalties%27-on-1099-misc/ 258
General Stock Discussion / Re: Moving to the U.S.; tax questions« on: September 21, 2020, 09:38 »Microstock-based earnings will be reported as royalty income. No they aren't. They're reported as regular income. You can find a tax table on the IRS site to give you a basic idea, or maybe even a calculator somewhere, to give you a general idea. If I make $X, what is my tax rate? That's disregarding costs and such, of course. 259

"We are focusing on the sellers for now because I believe that only when we provide an ideal platform for the contributors we can then gather a decent number of contributors."
Nope. You need a USP for buyers. Contributors, as seen here, will upload anywhere. The last place with a Buyer USP was Canva. If I had a nickel for everyone that wanted to start an "agency", I could start an agency. 274
