Illustration - General / Re: Anyone using Vectorstock.com?

Vectorstock = Dollar Vector Club

Interesting to see how this situation pans out for you - please keep us posted.

No problems here - should be an interesting read.

June is turning out to be my best month of year on SS with some larger than average ODs.

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy is going to sell VECTORS
« on: May 19, 2014, 03:27 »
Does anybody have experiences selling vectors at Alamy?

I'm considering to contact them and send a batch, but it takes a lot of work to do that batch so I was wondering if it's a dead market for vectors.

With my crappy snapshots I've had 3 sales in 1,5 year there :D

You'll need a batch of 1000+ vectors sent by mail.

In overall comparisons the Nikon 1 Series results arent very impressive.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Dollar photo club
« on: April 08, 2014, 12:44 »
The disparity in prices and revenue between sites is immense.
The dollar club is selling a image for a buck and giving me 25 cents
and same image on alamy costs 292 and Im pocketing 146 dollars.
It all makes for an uncomfortable gut feeling.

34
Looks like there's a bug in there but the prices are correct if your not logged in.

35
I would try a lower level, my EL adjustments will only accept an 80 Credit Price.

This is my best month ever on DT due to a major EL sale.

If they weren't happy with your work you would hear from them.
If they were happy with your work you'll hear from them when they need more.

Its high time for a devaluation of the euro.

Photography Equipment / Re: Wacom tablet - need pro version?
« on: February 12, 2014, 02:45 »
For illustration I started using a Wacom Inkling. Its so nice to get back to drawing on paper and getting the results onto software.
The application is quirky, but its working for me. The cost of the unit is negligible - I paid around 100 euros.

I keep getting reminders by e-mail, so I suppose I messed up the profile update too.  But that does not mean my survey was lost, does it?

I'm also getting e-mail reminders after completing the survey?

Dreamstime.com / Re: New to DT, question about sales
« on: December 30, 2013, 04:59 »
For along time I was disappointed with DT. I had expected a lot more from them being my first micro stock experience as a buyer. Looking at the quarterly results over the last 3 years I see steady growth with a good, but not great, last quarter of this year.

123RF / Re: 123 is the next one which kicks the bucket?
« on: December 29, 2013, 09:36 »
When comparing 2012 to 2013 I see no growth in sales and a decrease in revenue.

Not only a great album but I love the way the Clash they paid homage to Elvis' first lp.

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia Seeking $300 Million To Refinance Debt
« on: December 11, 2013, 09:29 »
I wonder who would reckless enough to finance a special dividend like that?

November 2013 was good.
Shutterstock was not as dominant with other sites making progress.

30.8 % Shutterstock
18.5 % Alamy (best month)
15.5 % Fotolia
14.2 % Dreamstime (best month)
12.4 % Canstock (best month)
03.9 % 123RF
02.9 % Bigstock
01.6 % DepositPhotos
00.1 % Veer (worst month)
00.1 % Stockfresh
00.0 % GLStockimages

47
I make one size jpeg for all sites and its 25 000 000 pixels or slightly less.
The only exceptions are Shutterstock which gets the additional 800 pixel long side version and Canstock who create their own from the vector file.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Veer sales - am I the only one?
« on: November 29, 2013, 02:12 »
My revenue for this year is up 25% compared to 2012.
What sells on Veer is different from other sites.

Veer / Re: The Future of Veer
« on: October 26, 2013, 03:26 »
Something positive. I had two ELs and an XLarge sale yesterday!
Veer isn't a consistent performer but they do come on strong now and then.
It's still my third best earner with an approval rating of 88%.

It's OK, but it doesn't look like a corporate design professional did it.
If not, that's a positive.  ;)
