I honestly don't think it's a LO issue...I think it's a Google issue. SS and Fotolia don't have comments, but they do have similar images posted just like LO, and that's what is showing up.

My sales at IS are twice that of SS, even though my portfolio is half the size. For whatever reason, the search tweeks haven't affected me a bit since the one tweek that doubled my earnings overnight.

Have to say that my last 2 submissions to LO went through in less than 2 hours each after uploading. Thanks to Karin for her speedy work. On the other hand, SS seems to be slowing down a tad bit--about 15 hours for my last 2 submissions.
You're welcome! :-)

I had an EL sale on a Christmas photo at Fotolia the other day. Couldn't believe it!

The agency owned by Photolibra is called Splash News.
I submitted some stuff from Schwarzenegger's Inauguration to Scoopt last month, but so far no sales...probably because I was so late in sending them. At the time of the inauguration I hadn't yet heard of Scoopt.

I use sheets of this type of foam used for chiildren's crafts. I prefer it over paper, because it I can clean it up, and prefer it over fabric, because the shadows don't have harsh textures. It also comes in many different colors.

Yeh...I thought I had an answer, but it turned out I was wrong.

Just checked the status os USPhotoStock, and out of curiosity searched using Ian's phoney keywords. A bunch of images by "Ninon" came up, so it appears they haven't bothered to remove the images (assuming Ninon is Ian). Unbelievable.

Shared photo shoots are always fun! I attend the Ballyhoo events that Lucky Oliver hosts, and next month expect to see a bunch of similar food photos uploaded by various photographers.

I sure hope you're right, Ed. The one thing that bothers me about working with SS is their hold on the subscription market. It would be nice to not have to rely so much on one agency for my income and see it spread around a little more.
I'm not crazy about the free images program or the removal of images that haven't sold in a year. I would much rather see a program like IS's dollar bin implemented, so we actually have a chance to earn something before the image is toast. Sometimes a true gem appears that was overlooked by buyers for some reason, and they sell like crazy when offered for a dollar. The true duds might only see a sale or two, but even then at least the photographer's work isn't going unrewarded.

Congrats, Sandra! :-) DLs have been picking up quite nicely for a little over a month, so I'm sure there's more to come. I have 11 so far. Woo!

I can't remember where I read it. It was either on the Yahoogroups microstock list or on CanStockPhoto itself...or both. It's been a few months since I read it. Unfortunately, CanStockPhoto doesn't have search capabilities for its forum yet, so I can't go back and look, and I'm not finding it on Yahoogroups.

I've been wondering about Duncan's claim that CanStockPhoto is a non-profit, so thanks for sharing the dialogue! After reading his claim somewhere, I went to the site to find out more information...if it's truly a non-profit like Big White Box, I really would like to know what I'm supporting. Couldn't find a thing, which has been troubling me. Now I know. A hobbyist running a site for free is far from being a non-profit. Makes me further question the integrity of Duncan and the site.
As for Gimmestock, they were making the same promises long before I asked them to remove my images last summer. To anyone who wants to remove their images, just send them an e-mail and they will remove them for you.
