"Almost all compact cameras, fixed lens cameras SLR-like Bridge Cameras and all mobile phones cannot produce images that meet our guidelines."

Alamy's harakiri  :o

27
The cameras I had rejected by Alamy were the Lumiz FZ330 and FujiFilm XF10. The latter rejection was particularly ridiculous as the XF10 has a 24MP APS-C sensor.

I assume this barrier to entry has resulted in Alamy losing ground to it's competitors.

28
I was twice refused by Alamy because I was using a compact camera.

Nowdays I look at their site to pick-up ideas for photos to load to their rivals who are not so pedantic about which camera you use.

29
I deleted an image and re-uploaded about an hour later. They rejected it as Approved on Site: This image has already been accepted into our collection.

Shutterstock's forum has this today from Aaron of L.A. Photography:-

"This is for the admins and Mods. It has been over a week and every time my photos or videos accepted some are not appearing in my port. You guys take more of us but can't fix this problem. When will this be CORRECTED!!!??? I get 3/4 of my photos accepted from the 100 I send in to be reviewed but I only get 1/4 of them appear in my port. FIX THIS * ISSUE!"

30
After re-loading, I got 4 of my 6 photos into the image portfolio.

So, I will probably need to load 2 again.

31
Thanks for the advice.

I've deleted the 6 images and re-uploaded them.

Will let you know what happens.

32
I currently have 6 images, approved between 1st and 4th April 2021, which are not appearing in my Images Portfolio.

There ticket feedback are saying:-

"This appears to be a system wide issue currently. The problem has been reported to Shutterstock and forwarded to the technical team and they are currently working to fix the problem, so hopefully these images will be available normally within the next few days."

33
So far this year my earnings are up 30% on the first quarter of 2020. I'm submitting (images only) to Dreamstime, iStock, Shutterstock, Deposit Photos and Adobe Stock. I submit about 50 images per month to each site expect Adobe where it's about 10.

I keep my costs down by taking photos from my mountain bike in about a 25 miles radius of where I live in the UK. My camera is also cheap but effective for street style photography - Fujifilm XF10.

34
I've already earned $12 more in March 2021 (in 4 days) than I did in the whole March 2020 on Shutterstock.  :)

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS sales January
« on: February 06, 2021, 05:05 »
I sold 101 photos on SS in January 2021.

So, I moved to tier 2 on 1st February.

43% of my income in January was from on-demand sales.

I'm still think I can make more on SS in 2021 than in 2020.

I sold 48 photos on SS in Jan 2020 and 100 in Jan 2021. Hopefully tomorrow I'll move into tier 2.

37
For me the bottom line, is I sold 562 photos on ??? in the last six months and 41 on Deposit Photos! Only in one month (in the last six) was Deposit Photo's RPD higher than ???.

I'm going to stick with the other "minow" site Dreamstime, because their RPD is generally better than ???.

38
I've decided to suspend uploading to Deposit Photos.

I sold 13 photos in Nov 2020 and only 2 in Dec 2020! So far this month I've sold 4 photos (the last for $0.17).

I think, I'll wait until I reach there payment level of $50 and close the account.

Presumably they won't payout if you close the account before reaching $50.

Dreamstime.com / "Your need to provide a cutline."
« on: January 03, 2021, 05:39 »
Dreamstime is preventing me uploading editorial images and putting up the following message when I hit submit.

"Your need to provide a cutline."

I've had to submit editorial content as commercial.

They've accepted 8 of my images this week as commercial even though they were clearly editorial content.

Does anyone know what's going on?

40
I've seen a 35.14% increase in my Shutterstock income this year.

A similar 34.87% increase in income from Adobe Stock.

My iStock income increased by a modest 11.79%.

Overall my stock photography income increased by 27.9% in 2020.

Just an average month.

Another YouTube channel is now saying that he's just learned that it is against many stock agencies terms and conditions to disclose earnings of those agencies. His remarks begin at 7.54 mins.

https://youtu.be/1p0hjiA91hY

He goes on to state his earnings by aggregating four or five agencies together.

Here are another two channels who also regularly disclose their Shutterstock earnings.

I watched this video yesterday.

https://youtu.be/Dfqp9xD188A

"This video tells you about the outcome what can happen if you disclose your stock photography earnings publicly. Even sharing screenshots or writing about your earning in any post or blog is a violation of Shutterstock terms of service and will get your account banned!"

Has any also experienced account disabling for this reason?

Dreamstime have a very good RPD. I've earned between $1.01 and $2.07 per download this year.

I have a port of 1548 images and an outstanding earning balance of $65.79. I should reach the payment threshold in Spring 2021.
