Did you just join?  Maybe it takes a week or two of results.

Not really, I'm in my second month. I'll wait and see, but after all, it's not that important.... as long as do have sales, this is want counts.  :)

Where do you find your ranking? I must be blind cause I can't find it.  :-[

on the left column on virtually every page i think.

Thanks for the answer Leaf, but it still does not show... I see some personal stats on the left but no ranking, I'm probably too new there and I don't have enough sales yet.

General - Top Sites / Re: October earnings breakdown
« on: November 01, 2007, 07:34 »
October was only my second "full" month in the MicroStock world. (Apart from DT where I had less than 50 pictures sitting there for a few years)

Overall I'm really happy, IS and StockXpert were slow but they should pickup momemtum as I get more pictures accepted there. Every site listed were BME  ;D   .... not very hard on second month  ;)

Here's the breakdown:

SS    63.1%
DT    9.6%
MP   8.7%
123   6.7%
FT   4.9%
FP   1.7%
BigStock   1.2%

All others   4.1%
(IS, LO, CanStockPhoto, CR, Albumo, RedBubble and ScanStock)

New Sites - General / Re: The Best of the Worst
« on: October 25, 2007, 10:09 »
I like trying the new sites, we never know, one of then can become the next BIG one.

As long as they have FTP I'll upload... if they don't have it, I mostly only upload a few to test it and then wait for FTP to come.

Zymmetrical.com / Re: Zymmetrical increases commision to 70%
« on: October 16, 2007, 16:48 »
Just a feedback on my experiences with the site. I keep getting errors for searches and lots of broken thumb image links. Is your site IE only? I use Firefox and I thought I remembered a previous comment that may have referred to this. Is so, tsk tsk.   I will refrain from my other technical experiences on the site for now given that they may be tainted by this very large, imo, issue.

Same problem here.... but I'm using IE 7

Yes, I did notice the new site, but I did not had the time to look around much.

And yes, it does look better.

Cameras / Lenses / Re: Noise reduction capacity
« on: October 12, 2007, 13:18 »
Funny coincidence, I just bought the same lens and I have the Nikon D200. And, last week I did some shooting at the Montreal Insectarium....

There, you can't use a tripod or monopod, I did take about 30 pictures, ISO ranging from 100 to 400, I managed to get 1 picture that is good enough to upload for stock.

I must admit that I did not stay there very long because I did most of my shooting on that day at the Botanical Garden (same area of Montreal), but it's outside and the light was much better.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Diamond list....
« on: October 12, 2007, 09:32 »
WOW! It's interesting to see that'll be in the top 160 of contributors! I was sure there were much more Diamond members than that! Which means that very few are making a full-time income from just Istock.

Just as an FYI (sorry if this has been mentioned before)... #4 on that list has just quit his day job and is doing photography full time
http://www.istockphoto.com/sjlocke

he was an artist for Disney animation at one time - pretty talented guy.

That's soooooooooooooo cool! I quit my job last year (14 months now) and only do photography. 70% of my income comes from stock. Life is beautiful  ;D

Hey Yannick,

This is great, I'm happy for you.

I'm hoping to be able to do the same within 2 years.

Off Topic / Re: Domain Names. What's yours and why?
« on: October 02, 2007, 12:59 »
This tread made me think about getting one. I just registered naturextra.com this morning.

I did choose this name simply because I specialize in nature and animals pictures, also, this name works both in French and English. Domain name with nature in it are getting hard to find. It will take a while before I do something with it, but at least I own it.  :D

Thanks for the tread.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Geckostock any downloads?
« on: September 28, 2007, 07:46 »
I've stopped uploading for the time being. I haven't had a photo reviewed in many, many weeks, and have three times as many photos waiting for review as in my portfolio. And no sales.

Interesting it seems they review my almost as fast as they go up. Yet no sales.
Jorge

Same here, reviews are very fast, almost everything is accepted, but no sales yet.

LuckyOliver.com / Re: Sept at LO
« on: September 28, 2007, 06:54 »
It's my first month there and I have 8 regular sales (with a porfolio of 168)

BTW, hello to everybody, it's my first post here, but I've been reading a lot since last August.

I finally decided to give a more serious effort into selling Stock, before I was only on DT with a small porfolio of 44 and had one payout. Since the end of August I did register to more than 12 microsites and I upload about 5 to 10 pictures almost every day.
