General - Stock Video / MOV or MP4 files?
« on: August 18, 2023, 04:21 »
Since i have the Pentax K-3 III I'am uploading video's again

Because the camera produces .mov files, I upload alsso .mov files.
In my video edit software (for now the simple free OpenShot editor) it is easy to convert it to .mp4.

If I take search the difference are
https://www.movavi.com/learning-portal/mov-vs-mp4.html

My guess is that .mp4 files will generate more sales.

Which file format do you use for uploading video?
And wich one is the best (for sales)?

Last friday i had a nice $26,-- sale
Last months all other sales were below $1.02

There is no public api for it

There is no public api for it, you have to make it all yourself from scratch. If it is just a hobby project I would not recommend it as it takes a lot of time to properly make such an application (and requires constant updates to keep up with changes). Which is the reason there are very few of those applications available (3 different ones if I'm right).

Your site looks nice (and also in Dutch)!

Thanks!
Thanks for your explanation!

My application does it as well: https://pangamediaanalytics.com
Can you tell me how your app received the sales data?

For a hobby project i would like to create a application that fetch sales data automaticlly from stock sites.

But i have no idea how.

For example if i look in the Shutterstock api, there are no endpoints to get sales data from an contributer account
Many sites have an CSV/Excel export, but how can you download these files automaticlly?

Has anyone an idea?

Adobe Stock / Re: Review time
« on: May 04, 2023, 05:28 »
Taking up to 10 days to review content seems reasonable, but I have some content in the queue for closer to 30 days now. So I eventually contacted contributor support. Then I received the standard reply about a high volume of uploads and review times being longer than usual.

I also recently submitted content to another large site and it was reviewed in less than 24 hours.

It is taking on average between 25-30 days for illustrations to be reviewed currently. We are working to get this down to a more reasonable length of time. To do so, we've recently implimented an upload limit for new contributor accounts. This should allow the moderation team to clear the backlog which is currently running deep. Once that is cleared, we'll start to adjust the upload limit up or down based on the volume of submitted assets at any given time. The goal is for timely reviews for everyone and I am confident we'll get back there in time. Thanks very much for your patience.

Yesterday i had the new dashboard for a couple of hours

The most important thing, Last downloads is missing (a map with dots is not enough).

Let's hope, is will be added in the future

And i'am not interrested in things like the shotlist
It is not desirable to show it so big on the dashboard

A normal month for me

It seams that the new price structure worked out positive for me.
Last year i had bigger sales (one realy big SOD) then before
A long time my biggest photo sale was $3,--

And over the year, i also earned more.

Canon / Re: Last Canon DSLR?
« on: January 25, 2022, 08:39 »
Pentax it's the brand that i use
It seems that Pentax sticks with DLSR

Although Pentax has no camera that can compete with the 1DX (or Nikon D6)

Has anybody been able to get this to work using Python? Nothing I try works and I'm wondering if anybody else has had success. I use Python to automate all my uploads rather than using the GUI of an FTP client.
I dont know anything about Python
But have you already looked for an SFTP library?
Or an SFTP upload example?

Shutterstock.com / Re: My photos keep rejecting my photo
« on: October 29, 2021, 10:11 »
The last weeks everything that i uploaded was rejected, for the wel known stupid reasons like focus for a super sharp photo or noise (while the image is taken at 100 iso).

Frustrating!

Now i gona wait for a week and then upload a whole batch instead 2 or 3 photo's a day

Has anyone similar experiences last weeks?
And is the something changed?
