I did it. Deactivated all files, just finished. This is very sad, each click on the deactivation button hurt.

They have put pressure on me to make a decision. So I did.

How stupid of them.

Loosing my small portfolio won't hurt them, but I simply can't stand pressure and captivity.

It was my first agency back in early 2006 ... *sigh*

Mostphotos.com / Re: can't upload
« on: April 11, 2016, 15:40 »
Same here, yesterday all day it didn't work. Same error message as mentioned above. I don't use FTP, it happened with the normal browser upload interface. Now I finally managed to edit and publish the uploaded image. It took 15 minutes to show up (as opposed to the normal 2 seconds), but still: it is up, finally.

Mostphotos.com / Re: Paypal fee for Mostphotos payout
« on: February 01, 2015, 18:33 »
When I asked for payout in 2008 there were no Paypal fees for me.

Maybe it is different in Euro-land, where I live.

I very much hope that this has not changed!!!
I never received an e-mail by Mostphotos that they changed this.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: No regular sales in stats
« on: November 30, 2013, 08:44 »
Yes, November stats are visible now, however, did you check your profile page? Mine says 56 downloads since 2006, however it should be 1492.

???

Worrying.

I never went to Shutterstock, because of the subscriptions! Instead, I went to Bigstock (in 2007).
Now, here we are. *sigh*

The same with my health insurance. Wanted to get away from my old company and went to another one. Guess, who - after some years - bought my new company.

I feel trapped, somehow.

Thanks Luis! I needed to go back rather further than January  ;) but I see what you mean. Not as good as before though because you used to get a complete list of all your previous sales in one place. Regards, David.

If you go to 'Notifications' (or 'My Notifications') there is a link to 'Sales'. It shows a longer list, including thumbnails, but in my case it shows only 13 of the recent sales.

Then, there are links to "View your sale report" for each image, but these don't seem to work right now.

Wow!

Since their forum is not available right now, I have to unleash my feelings here on MSG: Wow!

This seems to be the "bomb" they were recently mentioning in their forum. The new design looks fantastic.

Now, this is the very first time ever (started on iStock in 2006) that I try to place a referral link to my portfolio:

mostphotos.com/hanhepi

The new photographer's profile page looks just sooo good.

Still many questions left, hope their forum will be back soon.

Well, maybe I am only this emotional/enthusiatic right now because of this heartbreaking iStock/Google experience and yesterday's D-Day. *sigh*

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Image Deactivation Tally for iStockPhoto
« on: February 02, 2013, 14:54 »
Shame on me, for now I only deactivated 3 images today. Low/no sellers for a start.
I have only a tiny port there, stopped uploading quite a while ago anyway.

This is all so sad. Seven years ago I loved iStock so much. It added a new quality to my life. So joyful. Then all the known nuisances occured, one after another, and now the Google deal. This time they/Getty went too far!
How could they do this? I am speechless.

Panthermedia.net / Re: Watermark - PantherMedia
« on: November 24, 2011, 17:53 »
That's the reason why I never uploaded there. Have been watching this for quite some time (years), still no change.
I share your opinion: this watermark is absolutely useless.

Pixmac / Re: Big ambition from Pixmac [Press Release]

1.)
Now, this is weird: on Pixmac I found the same image with two different photographer names/nicks, a weird duplication, because they are both from Fotolia.

Again thanks to you guys here on this forum! Here I heard about Pixmac and did indeed find part of my Dreamstime portfolio there. Wouldn't have learnt this otherwise.

Interesting. Will see what happens. If the payment is fair, I might like the concept. Should upload to Dreamstime again, especially now that iStock shot itself in the knee.

Mostphotos.com / Re: Shiny new website.
« on: May 20, 2010, 14:34 »
@sharpshot: The zoom will be back, they are saying in their forum. They are optimising it right now, so you will again be able to see any section you like.
For a while only five small sections could be looked at. I thought that was not sufficient, so I am happy to hear that the former complete zoom will be back.

Same here.

I actually learned about PrintBusinessCards in May 2007. It was hospitalera posting here in this very forum, and I signed in.
This is the old thread:

(Don't know whether her referral link in that old posting is still working.)

Thank you very very much for all the information!

> DIN-A4
> 3508 x 2480 Pixel
> 292 x 210 mm
> 49,90 EUR

30% of that are still 14,97 EUR. Would be fine with me. Don't like the lower position in the search engine, though.

That's great. I wish Mostphotos had this, too.

However:
I have been watching Panthermedia since quite a while now, but their watermark is totally useless. I will not consider uploading until they get a really effective watermark!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Mostphotos.com watermark
« on: January 18, 2008, 08:56 »
I had waited with uploading until you introduced the new very good watermark. If you now take it off again, I will have to delete my port. The many unexperienced contributors who rate images for "beauty" and don't have the slightest idea what sells well on real stocksites (which have quality control) already broke my heart and and killed my initial big enthusiasm for the site, but now I don't want to hear that all my work with uploading was all in vain. Please don't delete the watermark!

I agree with rosta, mjp,...: Yes, make them pay 2 Euro for a very small layout version, 72 dpi, and refund it when they buy the full size.

P.S.: The reason why I do NOT upload to panthermedia.net (other thread) is their completely useless watermark.

Mostphotos.com / Re: Most photos - new "midstock" site!
« on: October 21, 2007, 19:47 »
Hi Suvakov,

what is the minimum size for images? Couldn't find anything about this on your site. I see the smallest unit in your search is L, but I need more precise data, exact pixels please. Thank you.

StockXpert.com / Re: Contributor UI Enhancements at StockXpert
« on: October 11, 2007, 21:14 »
Steve, thanks for asking us.

Although my request is not regarding the UI, I still would like to use the occasion:
Please tell your cookie programmers to stop logging me out every hour or two. I am online all day and want to login to a site only once per day! Like on iStock, Bigstock...

Although I stopped uploading in September (for obvious reasons, recently discussed here and in many other forums), I still very much enjoy to see how well my older files are doing on your site! So, StockXpert cookie/session programmers: please let me decide myself, when I wish to log out!

Again, thanks for asking us, Steve! You are doing a great job here!

You forgot the banner!!
No, I did't. I was awaiting your answer whether you also take beverages. You obviously do.
Thanks again for this great idea with the lightboxes!

Is there a default sort order for images in lightboxes?
It is the same order as you have chosen for yourself in your personal settings. I think the default on iStock is 'Best Match', but I always want things ordered by 'Age'.

This microstockgroup-lightbox thing is a great idea!

I have one (or two?):

Water chestnuts:

Do beverages count as well? I have a herbal tea made of rosehips, which contain more vitamin C than lemons:
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=1719912

@madelaide: Hi! Yes, cashew nuts are very healthy. All (unsalted!) nuts are. Loads of vitamins, minerals and "good" fat.
Regarding your liver: Did you also have some wine with the cashews?  ;)

Bigstock.com / Re: No double words - driving me bonkers
« on: October 04, 2007, 10:25 »
I use synonyms and add typos to those words which can't be replaced by a synonym. E.g. "Hamburgg" or "inn".
But I don't understand the sense of this all. The descriptions should not be searchable, only the keywords! Well, and the categories of course.

Although this is a bit confusing and eating some time I will continue to built a full portfolio there. Want to have another full portfolio site to compare it to iStock. Takes some time, but I don't mind longer approval phases, as long as I am happy with the result ;-)

BTW: Hi, this is my first posting to this group. Have been a reader for quite some time now. This is a very interesting and helpful place!
