Alamy.com / Re: Alamy Creativity?
« on: May 16, 2012, 04:41 »
Concerning duplicates...

Actually I've 453 files on Alamy,  and none of them are on creative collection. On Veer I have less than 400 files, and I'm sure they are the same on both sides.

So, images previously sent trough Alamy will be replaced by veer "similar"?

Which Browser You are using? Internet explorer? Firefox? Try from another browser. I'm using chrome without any problem in all agencies.

Crestock.com / Re: Review time

Even Veer is being faster than Crestock... and the worst part of be waiting months is rejection rate. If the idea is reject almost everything, why so long to do it?

Actually, I use "approved files updates" on twitter ( have some "design" followers.. so who knows  ::) ), and sometimes activate all FB updates as "mighty weapon" against my friends games updates  ;D ( Personally I don't pay much attention to FB as business tool )

81
**Update**

They "move it" to Editorial queue. I will let them get reviewed, and take some screenshot before submit next Editorial batch. Maybe I'm missing something..

82
Some batch's sent after Editorial ones, get reviewed today so... all Editorial files are *stucked* again... And those non-Editorial disappeared... ( **poker face** )

Thanks God, my Editorial stuff isn't "critical last news"...  ;D

I have been waiting 5 days for an editorial review i sure hope they dont come back and say please submit as editorial because i checked the editorial box and submitted 33.

Contact them regarding review time of editorial images. My first batch was pending some days ( not "normal" for Editorial ) and only after contact the I realize that they never got on review queue.

I dont have that but I am having weird reviewing, they arent looking into the all batch, they review a few here and there.. and some still pending and those are files that are 100% sure not editorial.. beside the late reviews over 10 days now we have files selected instead of the all batch(s)  ;D

Probably there is some issue on Content Editor. They still pending? If Yes, probably the problem is with any type of files.

83
Dunno if already happen to someone else.

Some days ago I upload, via browser plugin, 34 images, and I believe that select "Editorial" on Drop down menu. After some 24 hours one of them get accepted. Others 33 was with "pending" status.

I contact CR, and they said that something happen and they got stuck on Content Editor. Solution: delete one by one, and upload again. This time I look 100 times to Editorial drop menu and was "Yes".

Now, after change some emails with CR, they say that those 33 images aren't as "Editorial"... So i'm guessing that they will be refused or will be stuck again...

Big slide backwards in last month or so for Fotolia. Anyone noticed the same? Perhaps just yet another search results change which has affected me badly, but bumped up others.

Almost on par with March sales, which was a BME. So, pretty good :)

Same here. Since Jan 2012 the only way is up.

And number of OD's are increasing.

Dreamstime.com / Re: DT Pricing Changes? Stay tuned...
« on: April 09, 2012, 14:28 »
Today I got first download for 2 different images . They are level 2 now, ok... but just one of them appear on earnings page. Other was reported on my Facebook, via "Dreamstime Promotion Tool".

Anyone notice something like that after this "level update"?

( Already report to DT Support )

Solved. FB Tool was faster than site itself :D

Just one... 10 seconds after giving a basic tip to one member.

Will he forgive me one day?

Mine is empty, and will be, because "any opinion" matter.

3 sales on same month, one week after register I think. Was in 2011.  And i'm not alone on that pattern... Hmm , could be owner it self "buying them", in order to attract contributors? Just an theory....

« on: April 03, 2012, 05:03 »
Depends...

If Original isn't "perfect" ( exposure, colors, wb, noise, sharp and focus "to mars" ) You should edit before send it.

Now sometimes "our edition" can worsen it.

The ideal is get it good during shoot.

Shutterstock.com / Re: SS review time over 4 days?
« on: April 02, 2012, 16:33 »
I usually upload over the weekend, I just upload all the photos I've post processed over the week and it usually takes up to 8h to review them. It's been 24h and still nothing...I'm used to waiting longer if I UL during weekdays. Easter holidays already? But then again, the volumes of ULs should be lower as well (not just the number of inspectors)

My last batch took 4 days to be reviewed ( all accepted so..  ;D ). Now I send my images on middle of each week.

Anyway, I've sent same batch to all agencies ( 15 ) on same day, and only CS ( some hours ) and Alamy ( 2 days ) were "on time". All the rest appear to be on holidays.... sometimes Veer reviews appear to be faster LOL

Better days will come.  ;D

It's fixed. Last batch ( 29/03 ) was reviewed today, and I receive an email confirming that. Images on DB already ( one sold )... They are working very well  ;D

Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia Review Times Question
« on: March 30, 2012, 11:43 »
FL reviews mine as I upload as a rule, often one min or less. I guess they prioritize somehow, maybe based on acceptance rate or sales?
I'm guessing mine don't pass by human eyeballs as it seems too quick to be a person receiving the files then reviewing them.

If they prioritize under thOse rules, my first 2011 batch would be under review until now :D

I had one or two batch's approved in minutes too (on the end of the year I think ). My Acceptance rate is around 50% ( :D ) and sales just "take off" this year.

But I believe that FT ( like others ) can have an special "rule" for best contributors.

Go to http://www.canstockphoto.com/beach-rock-9009824.html

Then check "similiar photos" tab, and put Yourself as a buyer. Probably You prefer buy same scenery photo, with other level of quality. After all, the price is the same.

I'm not a "Yuri's successful photographer likely" but every week someone ask me the same, privately: "This kind of work will sell?"

My answers are the same for any kind of photographer:

- There's no "divine formula" about "what sells better".  Even I'm searching  the right niche for it...
- What are Your skills on photography? For example, I suck ( ok, I hate ) on lifestyle photography, so why loose time doing it against good photographers with huge portfolios? There is something that i shoot better than others? If "Yes", I'll bet on those type of subjects.
- What have You around that most of US haven't.. for example, You live on Indonesia right? What Indonesia have as unique subject? Their people, their monuments? Man, if i need get some Indonesia architecture I ( and most of us ) need spend too much $$$ to get those kind of shoots... but You don't!

Think about that.

« on: March 29, 2012, 03:22 »
BME, even for me :D

Yet, not enough to cover 123RF drop.

96
I agree with lisafx about "DT issue". Even I learned how avoid such rejections ( choosing the "best ones" or go to series ). So basically, poll results are screwed up...

I've seen many topics about "rejections" over top tier agencies, but they still on top, which probably means that, what they accept, is what they sell best.

What good is an agency which accepts everything and then does not sell? ( Like some low earners? )

And as said above by many: isn't more about agency own policy?

BTW, my vote gone to PM ( Rejections and Images deleted because PR needed for Editorial images inside "track" LOL ), but it appears to be more agency policy than competency of the reviewers.

Yesterday I've sent Editorial stuff directly ( ftp ) and "almost" all reviewed. At least, concerning Editorial, it's being reviewed fast enough.

Sent one editorial batch yesterday at 11pm, and was reviewed during this morning. Had an issue with all captions :D

Anyway, fast as usually.

But I notice that i didn't receive any email regarding review ( as usually ) and images still on front page as "images still for reviewing".

So, check Your "Status of Submitted Images". It apperas to be the only page updated regarding submissions.
