Cutcaster / Re: Cutcaster site sped up
« on: August 11, 2008, 01:24 »
I have an experiment for you...

Put a small random gallery of the least popular/least downloaded images on the home page.

A lot of times many pictures go unnoticed because of the differences in how search engines work on various sites.  So a really good picture can quickly get buried and never get a download.

By randomly selecting a small group of images that have never been downloaded and giving them exposure on the home page, you may generate a sale.

This is the best idea I think that I have heard of in a long while!! This should benefit everyone which seems to be might rare lately! Good for contributors, gets our work recirculated again, good for sites, better use of inventory and the buyers will get to view something a little different! With this all being said I'm sure the sites will look at this idea as "Hey this is a great idea....lets not do it" ;D

« on: August 06, 2008, 23:50 »
I came across this site a few days for event images. It looks a little off to me. Anyone else using this one or scared off by it?

why it is so hard to develop software that checks the image that is being admitted against the database of images that are already online ? consider each image as a signature ...

There is some software outthere that is bundle with some editing software that can idenify if you have identical images on your own system and will allow you to either rename or delete the extra image(s). The downside is that other than the name of the file the image has to be 100% indentical! >:(

Crestock.com / Confusing Rejections
« on: March 31, 2008, 00:11 »
Can anyone tell me how to question a rejection with crestock? I have just started uploading there and have just gotten back a large number of rejections, some do make sense but others refer to "Unfortunately, there may be potential copyright issues with the characters on the eggs" except there are no eggs in the image or trade marks! Any help would be welcomed.

Cameras / Lenses / An end of an era
« on: March 27, 2008, 12:52 »
Here is a link to a story about the end of the line for film from Polaroid. As much as can be said for the speed of digital and tweaking with software there is still something to said for the warmth and feel of film. Hopefully this will not be the absolute end of the road for instant film.

I was accepted about a week ago on my first attempt, I was a little worried after reading the posts about rejections being all over the place. Now to see if they will accept my app. photos for real! ;)

I know that I have only a small portfolio (still getting my feet wet ;D ) but hopefully I will get better sales than I do with the others.
