May I upload my photos with English and German keywords?

Dreamstime.com / Re: Is Dreamstime dying?
« on: May 05, 2010, 15:35 »
My sales are what it used to be, but DT are rejecting everything I upload. April 0% accepted, May 0% accepted. With an acceptance ratio of more than 87% it doesn't make sense to be. In the last couple of months my acceptance ratio dropped from 93% to where it is now. Is it just me, or are others experiencing the same? I'm not going to waste time and upload photos if everything is rejected, and without new images a microstock site will die.

At this moment Depositphotos is my no 3 for the month, behind Shutterstock and Dreamstime, but ahead of iStock, Fotolia, 123RF, Bigstock and Crestock.

Already the best month since August for me. My RPD is $1.26 at the moment, that is a best ever for me.

I'm glad about the Moneybookers option, because I'm from a country where Paypal is not available.

I uploaded a number of photos, and I must agree that review is strickt. I didn't do calculations, but I think just over 80% was accepted. That doesn't sound bad, but everything I uploaded was approver by Shutterstock, and many of the rejected photos were also approved by iStockphoto.

Everyting accepted by Zoonar was also accepted by Polylooks and APIS. I must add that I'm impressed by the admin at Zoonar.

I would have been very pleased if it happened to me. I know a guy whose photo was used for a book cover, the publisher bought it from SS for 25 cent. He wasn't pleased.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Repeated rejection from iStockphoto
« on: April 04, 2010, 12:54 »
I am a contributor at iStock, who did well for myself at a time. I even considered going exclusive. Now I get many rejections, I think my last 5 photos were rejected. I have now decided not to bother trying there. I still get sales from iStock, but my contribution days are over.

I got my $100, and I see money is still being added to my account for referral uploads. For me it was worth the effort.

This was removed from SS because it is the same color as a John Deere. Logos aren'e enough, I have to change its color?

Same here. No logos, just the colour. It was a good seller, so I try to slightly change the green and yellow in PS and submit again.

I received money for a referral upload today, so that part is also still active.

64
I did not receive the email. 411 images online, 8 rejections and 9 pending. I earned $121.40 for February, so for me the it was worth the effort.

It seems the promotion for referral uploads is no more.

Every month is different. Last week I had my best day ever at SS with just over $28. Some days I make just $0.33.

66
I decided to upload a batch again - and got a couple of rejections! Reason given was that the quality was not up to standard. I don't have a problem with that, except that the worst photos in the batch were accepted, and those already accepted by SS got rejected.

I was a scateboard junkie. If I look at the scars I been carrying for the past 35 years and the things I did to get those scars, I realise that I must have shown absolute determination, undaunted courage as well as strong suicidal tendancies.

StockXpert.com / Re: Stockxpert still payout For Contributors??
« on: February 16, 2010, 02:31 »
I send a query to StockXpert about the position of my photos and money. The answer I received is in short that if I ask for a final payout my account will be closed and I will receive my money. If I don't, all my photos will be for sale at Thinkstock.com, and sales there will be added to my StockXpert balance. I can still at any time in future request a final payment, and closure of my account.

I just qualified for my second payout. Don't know what the long term prospects are, but at the moment I'm making money. I have six referrals, so I will not put my link here (again) and give others a better chance!

It feels so good to get money from someone else's uploads! $6 something this morning, a lot of money taking into account I did absolutely nothing to earn it.

Everything is running smoothly for me. So far I've had rejections for similar photos uploaded - I get the idea they allow two photos reasonably the same. I like the credits piling up without anything sold yet. I have four affialite members and I see I get credited for their uploads as well - about 25% of my earnings so far. I used Leaf's link, so Leaf, you are also making money of me!

With a proven record of submitting good images, 93% acceptance rate and I've never had a batch with less than 80% accepted since I started in 2007, suddenly an entire batch rejected/ The same batch accepted by the other major agencies I had send it to. The reviewers at SS, DT BS and others can't be that stupid.

If the reviewer had said something like this is not what we want or what we need I would have understood, but every image rejected for poor lighting/composition. I know what poor lighting is, and I know what poor composition is. I don't submit photos with poor lighting. Composition is perhaps more subjective, but I firmly believe composition is not a problem with any of my submissions.

I'm sorry 123R, but I think you will have to look at the competency of your reviewers as a matter of urgency. No good photographer will waste his time like this, and those who will close their accounts will be those you actually need.
